After 2 years The door is garbage. See Pics. I contacted Anderson ( India) for the warranty. I forwarded pictures and registered the door with the serial number. I offered to send a copy of the receipt the next day. I found a receipt but it was sun bleached and not usable. I called the next day an talked to another "apologetic" agent who immediately spoke a mile a minute not to accept this claim. Even denied having the serial number that I registered the day before. I queried that if he looked up the serial number sale time period I could get my credit card statement linking the purchase to my Home depot store therefore proving I bought it there etc. No dice, he spoke a mile (not an understandable minute) to which I just wanted off the phone. Here's the pictures. It started rotting after 2 years and these pictures are at 3 years. We thought it was dirt. Its nearly holes now. This is a 120 pound $500 dollar installation job in the trash. They are so sorry it happened they cant even provide a good english speaker or make a phone call to verify a valid claim.

The door feels solid, is easy to install, but you MUST not install in area where it is subject to ANY MOISTURE. The particle board interior will swell up and the door will not fit opening after 6-8 months, within 18 months the aluminum will begin to corrode and look horrible. The bottom of the window frame allows moisture into the particle board interior.

Although this door is beautiful and looks very nice after instal on the front of my house, the quality is lacking. Waited 3 mnths to install it when the weather warmed up after seeing the install would take approx 3 hrs then within an hr of having it up the window already fell in. Very dangerous. We have young kids and dogs who could easily be hurt. We’ve popped it back in place with a screwdriver but it continues to fall out, even with several layers of packing tape stuck to the door. Please make this right!!

Door is good quality, it closes well even with the entry door closed, my only problem is that it is not water proof, water leaks inside during rain and when cleaning with a garden hose. Install went better than I expected, both the written instructions and the YouTube installation video were helpful. It took me about 5 hours to assemble and install the door, this was my first time installing a storm door, so not bad.

If your screen breaks like on mine after having been installed for less than a year, make sure you use the serial number look up tool and not the style look up tool on Andersen's website. I used the style look up tool and there were two to choose from. I ended up ordering the wrong part as I found out when I went to install it. I called them up to see how to return the screen. They want me to ship it back and pay a 20% re-stoking fee plus by the new screen.

I am in love with this storm door. Having had other models before, this door seals better, I am sure it is saving me some $$ on my heating bill. It has a nice solid feel ( it doesn't wobble on the hinges ). It closes securely and latches right into place. Also it is very easy to lock. Lastly, I can't wait until the weather warms up to use the top screen option. I am really really happy with this purchase !

I have two doors less than three years old and both have failed. The core in the same location disintegrated and ate the aluminum covering. Probing the internal area via the hole in the aluminum found nothing wet. Contacting Andersen I was advised that the composition and treatment of the particle wood core has been made limiting the rotting. Limiting is not enough as there should be no rot at all. I could not obtain any further information as to what was the cause of the aluminum being penetrated. It will require me to pay a contractor to replace these doors. Terrible quality and service.

This door supposed to be an Andersen door like is stated in the Home Depot store and in the box but it’s EMCO door very cheaply made gaps and unfinished joints bought the two days ago in Ocala Fl couldn’t stand a 6mph wind water came inside around windows molding there’s nothing holding the bottom window from flying out and hurting some one , but 1/8” lip do not buy !

The door is very well made; but the instructions are terrible. Instead of real photos they are drawn and none of the parts have any labeling on them to make it difficult to reference the correct part to the instructions. It would be nice if each part had an ID letter or word to match the instructions. Also stated that it would be about 2 hours that can only be true if you are an experienced carpenter. The door is very heavy, I am 71 and would recommend an additional pair of hands to hold the door up. All in all the door is great it just took much longer for me to install, not counting minor adjustments I needed to make. It's all about the instructions being inferior.

I haven't been able to install or use the door yet, so this rating pertains to the fact that the color of the door I received didn't look anything like this picture nor the pictures I referred to when ordering! It was the most light almond color I've ever seen--more like a bone white! The 3 stars is because it appeared to have all the features I was looking for and the return/refund was done in a fair and professional manner. I bought another color of the same door in-store but haven't installed it yet. I tried to "Add An Image." It took me to the box to let me select the attachment but wouldn't respond when I clicked "Add An Image" again.

Putting the door together was a nightmare. If not for a video on YouTube don’t think I would’ve got it together took close to 3 hours to install one of the windows keep popping out the quality of the door is total junk

After researching and purchasing this door from our local Home Depot and having a professional install it, the window will not stay in place. It continuously falls out due to faulty design and has become an extreme hazard almost injuring our toddler nephew and small dog. The window keeps falling out and the screen ripped the very first day. We contacted Anderson customer service and were supplied videos on how to fix it ourselves without any success. It’s VERY dangerous! Please resolve!

So far, so good! The instructions were a bit confusing, so we found a You Tube video by Anderson, and used that instead. We went very slowly, and it took us around 2.5 hours. If I did it again, we could do it in half the time! While the video showed one person doing it, you honestly need two for certain steps. The only issue I encountered was that the lower (fixed) window kept popping out. I think I have it in for good now. My husband, who was not on board at first, agreed it looks great and really makes the house pop!

Professionally installed by contractor who built my screened porch. It was good for about 10 years and the finish started cracking 4 years ago. Shaded side of house in mid-Atlantic area - not a result of sun exposure. Renewal by Andersen does not replace these types of doors, even if I pay for it.

Less than two years old. Already replaced $40 handle which snapped off. Screen came off roller and no longer works. Worst part is that the inside core particle board has mildewed from poor design. All Andersen had to do was seal the seams at the top of the door to prevent this. THE DOOR STINKS LIKE MILDEW!!! We could not figure out where the smell was coming from and almost ripped out the entire door frame to find it. The water seeped in at the top seam and saturated the particle board core at the entire bottom of the door - see pic. Just installed in 2021. Will be making a call to Andersen next.

The door I ordered was supposed to have a silver door handle. This one was gold. The lock could only be installed upside down. Plus the grids didn’t fully sit properly in the door. The bright white pieces on the sides of the grids that should fit snugly I sure the frame were exposed. The door itself seems nice and looks great other than the fact that it has its visual flaws.

Perfect Front Paneled Storm Door & Pull Down Screen was happy surprise !

For the money a storm door cost today, you would think that it would already have the handle hardware already installed. But, NO, holes needed to be drilled to attach the handle and lock. Then, to add insult to injury, the latch that pulls down the retractable screen is almost impossible to operate. The last door I had, all I had to do was pull it down to release the latch and open it. I wish I knew that before I bought this.

Very happy with this purchase!

The trim around the window has melted in the sun. This is not a sturdy door. For an item that will be used so often, I would recommend not buying this door.

Replaced a door that was on my house for 30 years it was a old school louver door this is an excellent upgrade recommended for anyone who’s replacing the door

This door is lovely but will 100% take you longer than 2 hours to instal it! Me and my uncle did it and took us about 3/3 and a half hours to complete this. Instructions could be better detailed, and easier if pieces where labeled and better. Over all good I’m glad it’s over!

took 2 people with a lot of experience 3 hours to put up. use your own drill bit. they give you an 1/8 bit that walks all over the place and takes forever to get through the metal. one hole I predrilled when in cockeyed without me noticing the bit walking and it cause a bulge on the outside of the door where the screw went in. i think if the screws we a little shirter it could have been avoided. very unfortunate and noticeable. the directions we so-so at best. I see a lot if complaints on the durability of the door but being I just installed I can't comment on that yet. for $300 for a storm door you would think it would have a good life.

The instructions that come with the door are terrible. Took 2 people over 4 hours to get it installed. The door is nice, but installation is anything but easy with the terribly written instructions.

I did not realize how nice and protective this door was when I bought it, I was just looking for a sturdier screen door my dogs wouldn't jump through, haha. The door comes with ALL the hardware you'll need (I recommend using your own 1/8" drill bit). Instructions are thorough, but I recommend watching a video (the video by "The Fixer" on YouTube was helpful). I love that you can open the screen easily or hide it away in the frame with a simple handle. Well worth the price!

The door was pretty easy to put together. Wish they would lable all the trim pieces that would make things much easier. They do provide a 1/8 in drill bit to help with drilling pilot holes but it's really cheap and mine snapped in half on the first hole. One thing they don't tell you is the door handle counts as a separate install and you will need a 1/2 in and 3/4 in drill bit to install the handle. I used 1/2 in to expand the 3/4 in holes to the proper size.
