The round post the mailbox support extends from is two pieces. The lower peice goes into a hole with concrete and the upper post fits into the lower post with three screws. It's wobbly and not very classy that way. The fix is the mix up a nice batch of JB WELD (I used two packs of standard JB WELD). Enough to smear inside and outside the joint interface. I then put in the screws and in 24 hours, it's solid as a rock. Clean off any extra with paper towels as it will rub off the black paint with a little bit of work. Looks great and supports the Large architectural mailbox nicely. You DO NOT need the plate adapter in the bundle. This is for a wood post. I dont know why they push it. So as evrybody complaines about the wobbly post, get out the JB WELD and your in great shape.

Overall a decent product. I would have like an extra 6" of post to get 18" in the concrete. The biggest disappointment was the that the decorative flange at the bottom is in fact plastic not aluminum. :(

This post was easy to put together and was stronger and built better than I expected. Also it looks good.

Low quality hardware makes it unstable…. I needed to purchase a bracket for re-enforcement to make it not wobble. The main post comes in 2 parts and where they join is the issue.

I purchased this from Home Depot. Very frustrating instructions as it doesn’t indicate which pole goes in the ground first. Come to find out, the company didn’t pre-drill the necessary holes for the top post to attach the top to. No big deal, reached out to customer service to send a replacement part. One week later, part comes, wrong piece! AGAIN! The quality control is pathetic with this company. Avoid unless you want to risk parts missing leaving the job difficult to complete.

Good quality and includes everything you need. Just add some concrete or foam and it is ready. I added a large mailbox on top and all the mounting aligned.

I wish I had read prior reviews. The two piece post is a BAD design. The three screws do not hold the post part securely enough to support the weight of the mailbox. The top section of the post wobbles forward when you open the mailbox. Tightening the screws has not solved the problem. Unfortunately the bottom section of the post is securely cemented into the ground, so I'm not going to pull it up to return. Now I have to find a way to make it stable. Not happy with this purchase.

Post doesn’t fit together properly. Wobbles as others have stated.

The 3 screws that hold the 2 pieces of posts together will not tighten down. Therefore the top wobbles, and will not get level like the bottom piece that I put in concrete. I will have to install larger screws and hope they don't strip out while I tighten them

For the money I would’ve hope for a little more durable post. I installed this one and a family member accidentally bumped into it and it snapped off easy to install and I got several compliments on it but the thickness of the metal post needs to be thicker or higher quality.

The holes in the 2 post pieces do not match for a proper and stable fit. The post is wobbly and the mailbox is now unstable.

The pipe is held together by a friction fit (think no friction) and three sheet metal screws. I thought my cement job was no good, the top wobbles back and forth, till I separated the top from the bottom and tested the bottom post by itself. Rock solid. I have no idea how I'm going to make this sturdy, like it should be, but I guess I'm committed to do something. Also, whoever bent the door lip, did a poor job. Very disappointed, and if it wasn't for the fact that the base is already cemented in, I'd be returning it. You've been warned. I picked this up from the store, and have not contacted customer servce (even though these are required fields).

Poor design missing fasteners once installed polls do not attach upper poll wobbles. Would like my money back please as I have to install a completely new post

The ad states steel post, which is correct. The box states aluminum post, which is possibly the component on which the mailbox mounts. The post itself is two pieces which sleeve together, but not solidly in our case. We are using additional tap screws for it not to wobble at that union. It's not terrible, but we expected better.

Great post for the new larger mail boxes

This is a piece of junk. It has a 2 piece pile that doesn’t line up, and once you put it together it is very wobbly. The holes for the mailbox to mount are not standard, so the mailbox doesn’t line up. Only the pole is metal, every thing else on it os plastic. It is the worst product I have bought in a decade

The mailbox post is classy; but, the universal mailbox holes did not line up to the post’s holes. Had to make an adjustment. Was disappointed…universal was misleading.

… the weak link is the joint for the short & long pole sections. You go through the trouble to get the short section (the one that gets anchored in concrete) nice and level, wait for the concrete to cure and complete assembly of the post only to find that the long part of the pole sags a few degrees under the weight of the mailbox due to the sloppy fit between the pole sections. The three screws provided aren’t enough to make this joint rigid enough to remove the excess play. I had to drill additional holes and add screws to get it rigid and true. It may not be as much of an issue with smaller/lighter boxes but we bought the Oasis Classic which is a heavy box. All in all it’s a decent post but they need to rethink that pole joint.
