I bought the pergola after buying the gazebo. Both are set up on stone patios. We tried setting it up on the ground, but it does not work as well as placing it on stone or cement. We paid for delivery and installation. It was well worth it!

I purchased two Pergolas and put them up together in an used area of my house. Immediately it was requested for a wedding. The Pergola area was the spot of the day. Beautiful and graceful. Great Success.

We love our pergola. Two of us were able to put it together with little effort. It provides a nice focal point for our large side yard and a nice little retreat. We added lattice because we want to grow wisteria up the sides and over the top.

Easy to put up with 2 people and arrived within 3 weeks

We bought this pergola a year ago and love it. We actually bought two of them and they were very easy to connect into one giant pergola with just a few extra leftover pieces. It is very sturdy and has held up well through a Midwest winter and rainy spring. We installed our own shade sails under the pergola for added shade and it is great. Highly recommend this product. It was not difficult to put together, instructions were clear and easy to follow. My husband and I put up two pergolas slowly over 2-3 weekends, but you could do it all in one weekend if you wanted to.

We were thrilled with the size and quality of this purchase. We paid a handyman to put together. Love everything about it! We have enjoyed being outside so much more. It adds the perfect touch to our deck.

We've now purchased two "kits" from Backyard Discovery, and they seriously make things so easy! My husband is pretty handy, but he put this together by himself in about 6 hours, and only needed my help when connecting the posts. It looks fantastic, and we'll see how well it holds up!

Awesome, buy it. Had it delivered to my house, and it arrived in three boxes. Electrical is great, and includes two main 110V outlets, and a third one routed vertically, towards the top to connect patio lights. Took about 5 hours to assemble, would have taken half that time if I had a second person helping. The actual color is more gray than the pictures, but that doesn't bother me at all. Mine had two misaligned hole on the very top decorative cross-beams, but they aren't structural, so I just left those two lag-bolts out. The construction is excellent, and very sturdy. After assembling it, I decided to just let it sit on the plastic base caps rather than screw them into the concrete; it's heavy enough that it is not going anywhere. I The instructions are easy to follow, but there isn't a lot of written instruction; you will need to really study the pictures and notes. I added two 48' strings of patio lights, and an 8' x 12' shade, see pictures.

very easy to assemble. it took us 8 hours total at a very casual pace. pieces are light so it's easy to work with. no misaligned holes like others noted, except for the holes in the top beams that support the decorative slates. we created a jig out of a 2x4 and it worked perfectly to ensure the slats were spaced evenly.

Took two of us about 8 hrs to assemble and four to lift the completed pergola onto the footpads. Looks great, good materials, enjoying it very much. Warning, be sure to follow the printed manual, not the app animation, or you will not get the orientation of some pieces correct and will need to disassemble and redo.

Wasn't as hard as we thought. Did need a third hand. Love the product 100%. Ordered wrong product first time. Refund was fast Great Customer Service. Delivery faster then expected.

Overall I LOVE this pergola. Everyone comments on the tables and power outlets. If two women (one 36 and the other 61) can assemble this thing, you can too. Took us one full day in 90 degree weather so there were a few breaks. Other notes: -- The stain doesn't go very deep in the wood. It could use a good sealant to lengthen its life. -- The instructions were very clear, except one page when assembling the main posts. I didn't notice anything telling you to make sure to group together to the two posts with pilot holes for the tables, so we ended up having to drill our own pilot holes. Otherwise, everything was pretty self explanatory. -- I was impressed with how easily the planks fit together and pilot holes matched up.

My Dad, who is a general contractor, helped me put this pergola together. He was very impressed with the ease of how we assembled it. All of the holes lined up, there are extra nuts and bolts for every piece and it arrived almost completely intact (one small piece had a chip and was a little disfigured.) I highly recommend this product for the quality and value for the price.

The pergola has been a fantastic addition to our patio. I did not realize how much I would love the bar counter and electricity outlets. With my patio in shade most of the day, I have been able to work outside for the entire day! I did attach an outdoor shade on the bar side. This allows me to block some glare on my laptop. And with the ability to plug in my laptop, I have no trouble seeing my screen. Plus the bar counter is great working space. I did also purchase a pair of bar height wood chairs. Beyond being able to work at the counters they make for great entertaining and eating. I also ended up buying a couple cheap stools for the other side (counter height). Since the counter is on the inside, the stools can tuck under the counter and not take up much space. And of course with the plugs, I threw up some xmas lights around the perimeter and mounted a fan in the upper corner. Assembly was not too difficult. It took four of us about 4-5 hours (mostly because we only had one drill and we accidentally put two posts to the wrong cross section - which required us to disassemble and reassemble... oops). All in all it definitely met my expectations. Good quality. Appearance as expected. Perfect addition to our house.

Would recommend. Perfect size for our patio. My husband was able to put it together by himself in less than 6hrs. He had some issues with holes not lining up, but was able to fix this problem on his own. All boards arrived in good shape.

The kit was delivered to our driveway earlier that expected. We like the quality of the product and attention to detail. We hired someone to put it together and he was impressed with the thorough instructions and accuracy. One of the braces split when being installed. I called for a replacement and had it in a short time. Very helpful and friendly customer service. Our friends are impressed at the quality and price. So are we!

The quality of this pergola makes it a great value. Easy to assemble..... the most difficult part was drilling into our very hard concrete pad. It feels sturdy enough to handle our windy area however we just put it up so it needs to experience a winter for the true test. I put a 8x12 shade cover over the top and it's perfect shade. Overall we love it!

We love our outdoor space now. Approximately 8 hours for two of us to fully assemble it. We also purchased a commercial grade screen we put on the top for extra shade. The bar and electrical outlets make it an excellent place to gather our family together.

We purchased this in June. We had to wait to install once the concrete patio was completed. It took about 6 hours to install completely and we were completely impressed with the construction. All of the components necessary were included. It turned out to be much stronger than I expected. Originally I was going to build one from scratch but after pricing Cedar components and figuring out all of the hardware required we decided to order from you. So glad we did.

My wife and I was looking to dress up our back porch off of our home. We saw this Pergola in a Sam's flyer. It was a nice fit. It allowed my wife to dress up our back porch and provided a wonder place to drink coffee in the morning. It did take longer to build then the manual says and it took three people but it was well worth it. We love it! And we have received many compliments not only from family and friends but even strangers who have pulled in the driveway and told us how nice our porch looks!

I'm very happy with this product. It arrived within the time frame advertised. Some external damage to cardboard box but no damage to parts inside. All parts present and of very good quality. We sealed all wood with three coats before assembly. Directions for assembly were good All went together nicely - predrilled holes lined up ok but required some freshening up of entry and exit points. Hardware was good and looked professional with nut barrels instead of nuts on the bolts. I had some concerns with the recommended anchoring method and chose to make 12x12x12 concrete with embedded brackets bolted to the posts since we live on a mountain with high winds sometimes. Project was completed in just a few partial days with two helpers. Very happy with the results

I bought this a couple months ago and finally got it installed atop of new concrete before the 4th of July Holiday! I absolutely love it and so does all of my friends on social media!

I've had the pergola built for about 2 months now and absolutely love it. Its sturdy and heavy but also easy-ish to put together. Realistically you should have at least two people building one pergola. I would budget about 5 hours with two people to put it together completely. Overall great pergola, very happy with the purchase!

At 73, I have been putting together kits for a very long time and in all those years, this is the best kit ever. Everything was included, everything fit, the wood was excellent and the hardware was first rate. Thank you for extra hardware as well as this would be hard to find locally. The directions were terse with great illustrations leaving no doubt as to how to put the pergola together. I am one huge fan of Backyard Discovery!
