Nice room to room vent.
I bought this vent fan for a basement apartment. There was little air flow between the rooms, so I installed this vent to circulate the air more effectively. It worked great for this application. The only complaint I have is that it is a loud fan. For an already noisy basement, it's not really a problem, but if you wanted to install it in a quieter place it could be an annoyance. It moves a lot of air, more than I had expected.
Installation was pretty easy, since the wiring was already in place. Cut a whole, attach wires, insert fan, job done.

good little fan but yes, very loud.
Bought this thinking eh how loud could it be?? Installed and let it run during the day, did an excellent job moving air. By 3am i was wondering what all that noise was coming from the other end of the house. It was this little fan, somehow. It sounds like a fan of at least 3x the size. If you like the static of a fan when you sleep, and need one of these, definitely grab it. If you're a light sleeper, stay away. If you're in the middle, try it. Aside from the noise, it does its job very well.

functional, but with two glitches
Purchased to mount over a wood stove to move hot air to other parts of the house, and it does this quite well so far -- it has only been operational for 3 days.
Upon installation, however, I learned that the air flow was the opposite direction of the arrow indicator on the fan itself. The easiest solution was to turn the whole fan around. The down side of this approach (rather than taking the fan apart and turning the blade around) is that the off/on/speed knob is now on the wrong side of the wall.
The other issue is that when running on any speed other than the lowest setting, a crackling sound comes from the fan -- easily mistaken for the crackle than comes from the wood stove when dry wood is burning. Have not tracked it down yet.

Not recommended for existing wall use
The design is not suitable for use in an existing wall, in spite of what the specifications say. There is an electrical connection cover box on the side of the fan that requires an additional, box shaped cut, that's 1.5" wider than the circle cut out of the wallboard for placing the fan. But the grill supplied will not cover that hole, leaving an unsightly chunk of missing wallboard showing.
The directions say that one should slide the fan into place and THEN place the cover on the box, which is impossible with the wall in place. They supply clips to retain the fan to the wallboard, but as designed, the installer cannot follow the directions. The fan can be installed if the cover is discarded and the electrical connections are simply stuffed into the wall but that is against the electrical code and creates a hazardous condition.
If you need a fan that can be installed in an already finished wall, as both an engineer and an electrician, I strongly recommend against this one.

Works well, a little noisy, junction box a pain to install
Electrical junction box located on the side of the fan where it will be inside the wall and it must be removed to get the fan inside the round hole. Takes two people, one on each side of the wall, to maneuver and reattach the electrical junction box while it inside the wall. It can be done, but a little frustrating.
Fan is noisy unless you install a rheostat (any light dimmer switch works). Moves air efficiently and quietly once the rheostat is installed.
Our purpose was to move air from downstairs family room where the wood stove is located into the stairway where a ceiling fan picks up the warm air and moves it to the main living room. This arrangement keeps the downstairs family room from being too hot while increasing the main living room temperature 8 degrees.
Well worth the effort to install as it makes much more efficient use of the wood stove heat.

Exhaust Fan
This fan is a little loud, but it does the job well, however the housing was not adequate, the wire holding plate the screws were stripped wouldn't tight so I removed the plate and attach the wire hardness directly into the 2X4 frame.

It's what we were looking to buy.
It moves the heat from one room to another, which is what we needed. Like the variable speed feature and the 8 blades. Hope it lasts.

Overall very good
Excellent performance. The electric wire box needs to be inside the unit so the wall hole for unit doesn't have to be extended beyond what's needed for the unit itself. Extra hole width has to be cut to make room for the wire box then that part of the hole has to be covered or filled in with putty etc..

Not very impressed
We are going on our 3rd motor for this unit. We use it to move air from our livingroom where the woodstove is and the rest of the house.

Loud
Bought it to move wood stove air into our kid's room but its louder than they advertise. It's a nicely built and fair looking product but its extremely noisy in my opinion, frustrating because there is no reason it's this loud for the air flow it produces. If they made the fan quiet I'd buy 3 more, but now I need to figure out if the one I installed can be salvaged.

Fan "rattles" because of part defect
I also have one of these fans. The reason it rattles on high speed is the metal shroud surrounding the blade is too small a diameter. There is only 1/16" clearance above and below the rotating blade. On high speed the blad drops slightly and hits the shroud on every rotation.

Love it!
Product color finish looks different than what was shown on-line. I loved the styling of this vanity, but the finish shown on HD website was a little too light. The product had only one customer review showing a picture of the actual product and it showed the finish to be a little darker than what the HD website. So I took a chance. I love it. Its a medium brown, with grayish stain on the edges with subtle white accents, giving it a chic weathered look. The vanity is well built and spacious.

works well, just a little loud
We are using the fans to move the warm air from our wood stove throughout the house and they work well for that, they are just a little loud. Not so loud that you can't hear the tv or people talking though.

It does move the air but the rattling is so loud. I have to keep it on low so it does not drive me nuts. i have tried different ways to make it quieter but have not succeeded yet.

Nice fan for an average bathroom
This fan fit a need - the bathroom I was renovating had an existing room-to-room fan and there was no easy way to create a path outside, so I went with this drop-in replacement. Installation was easy, it's "loud enough" but no too loud when in use and it moves plenty of air for my 4 x 10 bathroom.

Great product to vent small room.
This fan has been in operation for 5 years and still quietly provides air into a stuffy, windowless closet turned bedroom. We also use one to distribute pellet stove heat to the upper floor bedroom, fits through an old stovepipe collar!
