pleasantly surprised
These tiles are thin, like thin thin but are not supposed to sag. They look good and cut easily with just a scissors. My only complaint there were a few that were cracked. I would recommend. We put these in our VFW building

Great product!
We love our new ceiling! The tiles are beautiful, easy to clean, and the install was quick and easy. First off, I used the Ceilume website calculator to plan my project as I had several rooms with odd shapes to consider. I highly recommend starting there, it was easy to use and provided the correct number of materials with just a little extra that I needed to finish the job and included a layout for the grid. Installation was quick as the tiles are easy to cut with scissors yet sturdy enough to hold their shape. I used Halo 4" LED recessed lighting with metal support brackets that are sold separately. It took a little effort to get the panel and light assembly to fit and lay flat, which is not uncommon with any suspended ceiling tile. It would be awesome if there were sturdier panels or supports available from Ceilume for the lighting install locations. I do have one issue with small rooms such as a bathroom, when I open the door the ceiling tiles flutter and make a rattling noise, I plan to use clips, maybe clothespins, to hold the panels in place. Overall, this is a great product and the only reason that I rated it a 4 instead of 5 is so other readers will be aware of the minor issues mentioned above, I definitely recommend this product as a low-cost ceiling solution that has our friends asking where they can get this product.

Hi Honeydew Guy, thanks for your review and the kind words. While not typical, all ceiling tiles can move when there is a rapid change in air pressure, especially in the instance you mentioned: a small room with limited paths for the trapped air to move when you open a door. That's why every large ceiling tile manufacturer makes a ceiling tile hold down clip. You can find a variety of them at HomeDepot.com (this clip would work well with Ceilume's tiles: https://www.homedepot.com/p/ToolPro-Ceiling-Panel-Hold-Down-Clips-20-Pack-TP05116/306546108 )

I would easily give this 5 stars for big open ceilings. Only have jt a 4 because if you have cut up small rooms, it doesn’t look the greatest against the wall due to the fact of the deep indentions.

So easy!!!
Easy to install and they look amazing. I wish I could upload a picture! Like I mean, it was the easiest install of a drop ceiling I’ve ever don and I’ve done my fair share. I installed the grid and the tiles alone with ease. I used the metal frame and it looks great. I was worried about a slight colour difference but the tiles take away from that. They are just thin, very lightweight tiles. They bend easily if you need to and then they pop right back into shape. And you just need to use good scissors to cut if needed so it makes for perfect cuts. Awesome product

Hi Doug, thanks for the kind words. We're glad to hear that your Stratford tiles look good. I've got some great news for you; ASTM testing has shown that while the Stratford tile is lightweight and flexible, they're an "order of magnitude" stronger than old school mineral fiber tiles. If you'd like to nerd out on the test details, you can find them by searching Ceilume's website for "Strength" Thanks for giving the Stratford a place in your home.

Tiles are awesome
Love the look of the new tiles, easy to cut and install. Only drawback is they are flimsy and may require additional support for your HVAC vents and lighting

Hi ASAP, we're happy to hear that you love the look of your new tiles. It's important to note that the International Building Code requires all lights, HVAC vents, speakers, etc must be supported by the ceiling grid or structure above. Ceiling tiles shouldn't be used to support anything. And while Ceilume's Stratford 2x4 tiles are flexible, they're more certainly not flimsy. Their vinyl makes them very durable; ASTM testing has proven that their "an order of magnitude more durable" than standard mineral fiber tiles. We're confident that your Stratford tiles will add beauty to your home for years to come.

Beautiful drop ceiling
Very easy to work with and the details on the tile are beautiful! I was able to trim with regular scissors and hands down the easiest thing to do in a home renovation. Changed the space completely!

    Happy with our purchase
We are very happy with these ceiling tiles. Once we got the track up they were very easy to install. We used the foam provided to help secure pot lights. We really liked how easy they were to cut just with scissors. We were able to maintain the height of our ceiling by dropping the ceiling by only about and inch. These were the best looking option we could find in this price point. Would definitely recommend as an alternative to the foam tiles. The only thing that isn't great is it doesn't help with noise from someone walking upstairs, but this isn't really a big issue for us, so we are happy with it.

We had watched the video of the guy installing and using this product. When it arrived we couldn't believe how cheaply it was made. It cost over $500 for a larger family room 20×15. Foam egg cartons are made better. Now we have to return it and look for something better. Don't waste your time or money.

Hi Bran, thank you for your candid review. We understand that the Stratford tiles are very thin; Feather-Light is right in the product name and "Vinyl panel is surprisingly thin but amazingly strong" is the first bullet point on our listing. Vinyl is of the most common construction materials in use today and recent ASTM testing reported that Ceilume's Stratford tiles are "an order of magnitude more durable than mineral fiber tiles" Foam Egg Cartons can't make that claim. When you factor in that the Stratford is made in California with materials sourced from Texas, carries a Class A Fire Rating, and are impervious to moisture so they don't sag over time, we believe that the Stratford is a bargain. We appreciate you giving them a try in your home.

Good looking ceiling tile, easy to cut to size with a scissors. The only drawback I have seen is the thinness of this product. If the homeowner is not careful and a little bit unaware of the fragility , they may find some handling problems. In my case I reused the existing ceiling tiles to act as a hold down above these new added ceiling tiles (2x4). Other than that, they suited my usage.

Hi JKBatt, thanks for sharing your thoughts on Ceilume's Stratford Ceiling Tiles. We're happy to hear that you now have a good looking ceiling and that the tiles were easy to cut. We understand that folks are concerned by the thin nature of the tiles but rest assured, the durable vinyl material is very tough despite it's flexible nature. ASTM testing has shown that the Stratford tiles are an order of magnitude more durable than standard mineral fiber tiles. And since they won't absorb humidity and sag over time, you'll have that good looking ceiling for years to come. Thanks for giving the Stratford a place in your home.

These tiles are a LOT easier to work with than other types, as they are relatively thin and very pliable. These look fantastic with black frames! They cut easily with scissors. One caveat, if you are installing puck-type LED lighting, you'll need to improvise something to strengthen behind the tile, as they are thin and will distort from the weight of even these lights.

These are likely much thinner than you would expect. I have had paper plates with less flex than these tiles. After install they look very good and I don't have issues with rattle. These will not provide any support for ventilation. So be sure your ceiling vents are secured and lined up extremely well with your desired ceiling height.

Hi Ryan. We're glad to hear that you think the installed Stratford ceiling tiles look very good. You bring up a great point; the International Building Code requires that all vents, lights, speakers, etc must be supported by the suspended ceiling grid or structure above. Ceiling tiles should never be used to support anything in the ceiling. Thanks for giving the Stratford a place in your home.
