One word Awesome

I have several Dewalt tools and am pleased with all of them. I needed a drill with a side handle to operate my Eskimo Pistol ice auger with at least 18 volts and 4 amps. I already had a charger and two 5amp/hour batteries, so ordered this bare drill. It's perfect. Drill and battery weigh less that 5 pounds and the pistol is less than 4 pounds... beats the heck out of lugging my 40 pound gas auger! This drill packs up easily and powers the auger through 20 inches of ice in under 10 seconds! And at 68, I can lug it across the ice so much more easily! Bought the same drill in a "kit" (Drill, tote, charger, 2 batteries) for my son in order to share my joy!!! Instead of having a gas powered auger I can use a few times, I have a drill I can use all year!

I am now on my second DCD991 hammerdrill/driver. I just purchas the bare tool because I have multiple 9ah batteries in my toolkit. This drill is a workhorse. I use it daily. Mostly for drilling holes through steel, concrete/brick and in a very oily, dirty environment. This drill holds up to all the obstacles thrown at it. I have never had a problem. I recommend the flexvolt 9ah batteries, the lanyard and belt clip.

The drill works great! My only complaint is that my old drill still worked great too, but I had to buy new because DeWalt discontinued the old-style batteries.

Just charged the batteries but have not used it yet.

Should have a Jacob's Chuck...can't replace when it fails and it will fail. Another disposable tool.

Drills fast and has great grip

This drill has been on my wish list for over a year. It's been out of stock. I finally received an email letting me know it was back in stock. I love it super powerful I’m so happy with my new awesome drill. Excellent tool for the money. Love the hard case, two batteries, and charger in one package. The only issue I had was driving in stainless steel screws. Some of the screw heads were getting stripped even thought I pre-drilled the holes. The fasteners were made in China and poor quality. I couldn't find American made screws.
