Better quality than expected. Fits nice and snug, doesn’t move around in case. It was easy to cut out the tool shapes with s basic knife. It’s made up of multiple layers of foam, so cutting to a specific depth is easy. Highly recommended!

I've been waiting for months for Home Depot to receive stock of these foam inserts for the ToughSystem 2.0 boxes and inserts. Finally, they have arrived. Pros: Precut to fit the ToughSystem 2.0 boxes, but scored to be trimmed to fit the ToughSystem 2.0 insert trays. That's a bonus as far as I'm concerned. I have flexibility of where to put them, boxes or insert trays. The layered high density foam is of decent quality. I haven't tried to pick apart the layers yet, but I can't imagine it would be any different from any other Kaizen-type layered foam I've used in the past. The two thicknesses of foam provide additional flexibility, with the ability to stack inch and a half and three inch sheets for exactly the thickness you need. Cons: The fit in a ToughSystem 2.0 box is somewhat sloppy and loose. A foam insert should be snug without having to cram it into the box. These fail in that respect. Yes, they fit, but they slop around a bit more than I'd prefer. The precision of die cutting the shape of the insert is pretty pitiful. Some of my inserts have massive concave edges. Most edges concave by 3/8" or so, with some having 1/2" concavities. on the edges. So I have to be very wary of how close to the edge I cut in to fit a tool. Finally, there is no accommodation to affix the foam to the lid of a box. For example, some my "small" ToughSystem 2.0 boxes are used for sensitive electronic equipment like laser levels, thermo sensors, hygrometers, etc. I was looking forward to fitting them into the foam in the box, then affixing a inch and a half sheet to the lid to keep them padded and in place. These foam sheets do not have any accommodation for that. There are other Kaizen foam options out there which are specifically designed as lid inserts. So that's a pretty big fail as far as I'm concerned. Conclusion? Quick and convenient to order from Home Depot, so I'll keep buying these then they're on sale, but definitely won't be paying full price. I can order from other sources with a higher level of precision and available options (including various colors) for a similar price to Home Depot's regular retail price.
