[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently I had the opportunity to try the DampRid moisture Detection strips. These are so easy to use and very accurate. The color coded strips tell you exactly what product you need to take care of the access moisture.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are temporarily living in a Camper while our home is being built, and I am concerned about moisture in it. These Damp Rid Moisture Detection Strips are a perfect and safe way to tell if you have a lot of moisture in your home/camper. To get started, you simply open a pack and take out the strip, and put it where you want to detect. Wait two hours to check it. Ours detected the 60% indicating that there was excess moisture in the air. On the back of the box, there is a QR code that you can scan with your phone camera to customize the Damp Rid solution to the excess moisture. Be sure not to throw away the box, as it has a lot of information on it.

We will get daily rains starting soon, but right now, they are sporadic. This is a great way to test the moisture in your home. Simple to use, just unwrap and place on a surface and wait. I placed mine in the dining room area and waited. After about 2 hours, it showed all pale pink. I would have thought we had more moisture in the air. I like how simple it is to use.

First, whether pinned to a wall or laid out on a flat surface, I like that they can be placed on any sort of surfaces. Second, they work fast. The box says 2 hours, but if you happen to place them in a fairly humid area of your house the results will give you a pretty good idea of the levels in about 45 minutes. One thing that is unclear is the area it covers to capture the humidity level. As an example, I have a room in my house that is more than a thousand square feet, and I had to place 3 of them in different areas to figure out the room average. Also, the instructions specify that if a circle turns pink or purple it is an indicator of its percentage is identifying humidity, however, as you can see in the picture if all circles are pink, what does this mean? Does purple means more humidity than pink? The other way around? The instructions don’t really specify. Again, as I said this is a practical tool, but not a precise one… Good enough to give you an idea, fast, and conveniently.

The instructions are super easy, just open and place on counter and it does the work in seconds. In my case it took about five minutes but sure enough, results. This is really great to have to test different areas of concern. Easy to use, great packaging and instant results. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Moisture is a big issue in the south. Sometimes you just need to know how much moisture is there in a cabinet or an enclosed box. These moisture strips are perfect for detecting moisture. The great feature is that each strip is individually packaged so you won’t waste an entire package just to use one strip. The strip is fairly thin so it does not take a lot of space. The wording and labels are clear and easy to read.

These Damp Rid strips work great to determine the best place to deal with excess moisture. I have used these prior to placing a Damp Rid moisture capture bucket and then after placing the bucket as well. It help to make sure how we are addressing the excess moisture is actually working. In helping fight off mold and other issues with excess moisture these are a great way to stay informed as to your plan of attack working. Even if you are just wanting to know if your specific needs are truly an issue these are a great way to make that determination.

DampRid Moisture Detection Strips are an inexpensive way to periodically monitor the humidity and dampness in the air in your home. They accurately measure the humidity by color changing dots on the strips. Within two hours you will have a reading to indicate moisture content in the air. According to the manufacturer, relative humidity should be kept below 60 percent, with 30-50 percent being the optimal range. If you get a reading above 60 percent, you may wish to take steps to mitigate the problem.

The moisture absorber detection strips can detect excess moisture before it becomes a problem. The optimal range for the relative humidity should be kept below 30% and 60 %. the test strips are easy to use.simply remove a strip and place them in concerned areas for approx 2 hrs.The highest dot that changes to purple of pink indicates the level of humidity, and what action is required.

We have a motor home that tends to get damp in the underneath storage compartments. I placed one of the strip in one of the compartments and within ten minutes it was registering excess humidity. These would work well in basements or crawl spaces or anywhere else you would worry about humidity causing mold, mildew or that musty smell. They come individually wrapped and packaged well. They are very easy to use. If you have a dehumidifier in the basement that doesn't have an automatic humidity control these would work really well to let you know when you should use the dehumidifier.

Each sealed packet includes a test strip and a desiccant pack to ensure freshness. I put these in several different spots in my basement and garage on a cool, not humid day. After about 45 minutes, the spots were well on their way to pink; after the 2-hour recommended test time, the strips were all pink, indicating a humidity level above 60%. I do believe the results of the test, but I also think It's kind of a clever way to make sure you buy more DampRid products.

These work wonders at detecting moisture that may otherwise go unnoticed without using a product like this. I use them in different rooms of my house and am able to detect where I need to use other DampRid products as well as dehumidifiers in order to get rid of the excess moisture in the air and to prevent molding. They provide very accurate results and are very easy to use and to read as well. This product comes very highly recommended by me!

I tried these moisture absorbing detection strips in my basement to see if I had too much moisture and needed to address this issue. I have a finished basement and do not use a dehumidifier. The strips are individually wrapped and simple to use. You just remove the strip from the package and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Spots change from blue to pink as they detect levels of moisture in the air. Anything above 60 percent should be addressed. I was over 60 percent in my basement. I tried the strips up in my living from to make sure they did not always read over 60 percent and the living room measured under.

These DampRid detection strips are really interesting to use. You just open the package and put it wherever you feel there may be too much moisture. The blue dots will change color and each color tells you how much moisture is in that area. The dots change to purple or pink which gives the level of moisture in the air. If the dot stays blue, then it’s fine. Very interesting concept. It helps you decide what to use in various areas as well depending on the size of room you are testing.

I expected to love this item simply because I have used other DampRid products. But it was not the case this time. The moisture strips are easy to use. There are 5 to package. It starts out a blue and starts to change color. I placed one in my bathroom and within hours it turned pink which means al ot of moisture in the air. I put one in my closet, same event. Maybe it's because I live in Florida and we run the central air, but I am a bit skeptical about the results. Also, once you get the results the box will recommendation which other product to use.

While these strips are easy to use, I'm not sure if they are accurate. I know my basement has a moisture issue, but yet my reading didn't seem to indicate that. I'll try them again in the summer when the humidity is at it's peak to see what readings I get. I wish the colors were darker and clearer so that you could see exactly what the reading is. It's very faint.

I wanted to get these to check the moisture level in our basement. We've never had any water issues, but occasionally will notice a very slight musty smell. We are already using DampRid products to absorb the moisture out of the air, so when I tested the air moisture I was very happy to see that the moisture level was quite low. These strips are really easy to use. Just take them out of the package, put them on a surface of interest, and check back later to see what the moisture reading is.

I have been using DampRid products for years. I have always been very satisfied with them. However, the DampRid 5-Count Moisture Absorber Detection Strips, Blue was a total disappointment. We live in Wisconsin and have a finished basement. For those in other parts of the country, this means there is a Family room, full bath, bedroom and walk-in closet, aside from the storage in a regular basement and a laundry room. I am always concerned about potential dampness in the summer months when the gas forced air furnace is not running. I used a test strip in this area first. It showed 60% or more humidity. This did not make sense. I then used it on the main floor and stood it next to an indoor/outdoor electric thermometer that also measures humidity. You can see the results in my pictures. It read identical to the first strip, 60% or more humidity. This one I know is not anywhere near correct. It has been cold this March and so far in April. The furnace is running, and we do not add humidity to the air. I was extremely disappointed in the DampRid 5-Count Moisture Absorber Detection Strips and would definitely not recommend them to anyone. Sorry DampRid, but my first thought was that you were trying to sell the suggested DampRid products on the back of the box. I have always used and loved your products. This one is a stinker.

This is a cool product from DampRid ! In each box you have several strips, you want to open each package and place the strips wherever you want to see where the moisture is . It works pretty fast . I have placed one in each closet to see where and if I need more of the DampRid refills. The blue dots change pink so the results can not be mistaken. Leave in place for 24 hours. PLEASE KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND ANIMALS.

Really a very nice simple preventive application to help detect certain areas in our home that is moisture heavy and problematic ventilation wise. Molds and mildew can raise havoc on personal well being if not attended to and cleaned up in a timely manner. These strips can be applied to problem areas such as the bathroom, shower room, laundry room or any room that tends to accumulate extra moisture and is ventilation challenged. Easy instructions, apply, monitor and act accordingly when color level indicates a problem. Will help save you some health problems down the line.

I like that these DampRid moisture detection strips takes the guess work out of knowing if there is excess moisture in a area.Which I can't tell unless its by smell! Lol But these strips tell you the amount of moisture right on the strip. Single use disposable strips measures it by color . The blue dot changes to pink or purple in 2 hours from just sitting in the area. No mess,no fuss! The chart on the box ,shows the rooms/areas in sq footage (small,medium,large) and by color dots which DampRid products to use. I have used tubs,refillable drop in tub,etc.in the past. With this strip I used it in a shed I had converted into a tiny house and the strip showed it was only 10-30 % moisture in that space.I will use a drop in tub as the temperatures get hotter to keep any moisture out of there,since I have installed pre-painted faux beadboard on ceilings and walls-which can be damaged from any moisture,since I have a bathroom and kitchen in the building.I would definitely recommend these moisture strips!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked the idea of being able to know the percentage of humidity present in my house, for this I chose the closets and my children's room which sometimes has a strange smell .... Well, when I opened the measuring strips, the humidity indicators all the dots were blue, after about two hours, I went to check them and now all the dots were pink! I quickly went to the box (where the strip interpretation scale is indicated), and to be honest I didn't understand what the humidity result was, because as I mentioned all the scale was the same color, to my eyes I didn't see any difference.... Please excuse me if I could not understand the explanation. In my favor I can only say that if I did not know how to interpret the band reading, it should have been designed so that any housewife could interpret it.

If you'd like to know if any moisture is present in a given space, these strips may work, but they are not very accurate. I found them to be off by up to 20%+ from a moisture meter.
