I almost didn’t purchase this item because of the reviews on the internet even other name brands had poor reviews so I decided to take the chance on this one as as i have other delta tools and they perform great, All i can say is do not believe those reviews this is a great sander the disc is flat and rotates true and straight, the bed is flat and the miter guage slides in the slot with little effort it looks like delta updated the locking mechanism for the bed tilt as it is a double knob setup and locks on both ends securely at any angle, I have used this sander many times and am satisfied that it will perform well for a long time. Oh and yes the sand paper is a little hard to remove but if you use a heat gun and some adhesive remover it won’t take you to long to replace it with a little less aggressive paper.

Most all of my power equipment is Delta, This item just shows how their quality has degraded. To start I could have made the table flatter with my Milwaukee L grinder, the disc face plate ran out 1/4 inch and a corner of table was broken, shipping box was not damaged . It looks good and after I fixed the issues it preformed well. But why didn't it come that way, oh just like everything else MADE IN CHINA !!!!!!!!

This sander is awesome! Quiet, no vibrations, and I love the large size of the work table and the overall quality of construction and design. The dust collection system also works great when connected to my shop vac. Its' pretty heavy and you will not want to move it around a lot but I would highly recommend this sander.

I don't know what happened to Delta, they used to make good power tools. But I guess I am showing my age, because this thing is junk. The fit and finish is terrible, the cast iron table is not flat, and the miter gauge slot is not cut evenly. It is so bad the miter gauge itself won't even slide through it. It gets halfway and get stuck. I have some WEN tools that people like to bust on, but I have never got anything this poorly built from them (or any other manufacturers for that matter).

It was great right out of the box. Plate was flat and the table needed very minor adjustment.

This disk sander unit is great. I tried another manufacturers disk sander first that was made with an aluminum adjustable table. That product vibrated too much and did not have the stability that the Delta unit has. The Delta unit has a steel table that comes with a good adjustment system. As far as motor power, this has plenty as it does not bind or slow down when I use it. I also like the braking system that you can use to manually stop the disk wheel from turning. All around I’m very satisfied and am glad I purchased this unit.

This is a good 12" sander. This is the second Delta 12" sander that we have in our shop. The older sander is 10 years old and is still working fine. It gets used at least twice a week for a couple of hours each time. I went with Delta because our current sander is Delta. This new sander seems to be the same quality as the 10 year old sander. We are happy with the new purchase.

Table was wavy on one side of the cast iron. I mean, come on. Where is the QC? Makes me more convinced, there is no QC.

While I haven't actually used it on a project, it runs smoothly and seems balanced.

Ordered as my wood shop tool, I was not surprised it weighed 80 lbs naked. I read reviews of increased run-out, but my disc was below 0.01 inch. A great addition to my tool bench.

Disc plate is flat and spins true. No wobble and motor has plenty of power. Dust collection also works very well with just a standard shopvac hooked up to it. Table surface has very rough machining marks. Outer edges of table are tapered down and are not flat, but doesn't effect 90º sanding near the disc. Included sandpaper is very coarse and hogs off material quickly - something to consider if you want higher grit. Overall, the cons don't effect operation and is a very good value.

Haven’t used it a lot, but the table is solid and there’s no apparent wobble in the disc. I’m happy.

The Delta 12 inch disc sander is very easy to use, I used it to grind some brass drain covers, it makes quick work whether you’re whether you’re sanding wood or metals, happy with the purchase.

It’s an excellent sander. Built very well. Everything I wanted. Great job Delta!!

The Delta 1/2-HP 12-in sander great product it's everything they said and it is heavy, it gets the job done. I give it five stars. I wish HD.. would carried 12-in sandpaper instead of ordering it..

Lack of power. Can stop disc from spinning with light constant pressure.

Got on sale around Black Friday. Very well built. Just what I was looking for.

Works great. Made modifications from previous model. I find those changes to have made adjustments easier. Good table. Smooth operation.

Heavy duty sander that really has the power.

The quality control and quality assurance were minimal. The miter gauge slot was rough with substantial burrs requiring significant sanding. The miter gauge is useless (wobbles significantly in slot). The disc sandpaper was difficult to remove (I'm still trying to get all the adhesive off the platter.) The sand paper wasn't the peel-and-stick paper I expected. The manual stop is flimsy to say the least. I haven't attempted alignment and calibration of table but it seems to be off. I researched the sander online and now conclude online consensus was off the mark. I should have purchased the Rikon (which I used in a segmented bowl turning course.) Even better the Jet stood out as the machine but it's not available. If Jet ever becomes available again I'll probably purchase it and relegate the Delta to minor tasks.

Really pleased with the sander, works well for the intended project and the one yet to come.

Assembly was easy and straightforward.

Use it often, love it.

It’s everything I expected.
