I even used it to carve a project using Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba), which is a very hard wood and the 4000 performed flawlessly. I love this tool!

While I’m still waiting for summer to come around before hitting the arts and crafts shows, I’m really anxious to see what potential clients think. Despite really hard use my variable speed Dremel is a workhorse and has never failed to deliver pinpoint control and versatility. I gave my daughter a new 4000 series kit and she loves it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the 4000 series not long after it hit the shelves. Since that time I have probably put 5,000hrs on it. Using it from tiny detail work to bigger projects then it was intended for, but with that said not only did it tackle and conquer anything and everything I threw at it without missing a beat. In all that time all I’ve had to do was replace the Brushes. I’ve had rotarty tools that cost 5 times as much that can’t even stand close to this beast of a tool. It’s more an artpeice then a tool. There are literally hundreds of amazing attchments burrs bits sanding cutting anything and everything can be accomplished with this tool. Thank you Dremel Team your tools rock!!

Works very well. I like all the additional items it comes with and the fact that it has different speeds. Ladies I use it for my nails and it works great.

What a great too kit!! I love absolutely love this rotary tool, so versatile! The quick lock feature allows for quick accessory changing and is very simple to use. I have a battery operated rotary tool and it doesn't even compare to this one! The spin dial allows for easy change of RPMs depending on your need. I love the circle guide cutter! It helps you cut circles between 4-12" wide! This tool is perfect for the novice, professional, DIYer! I highly recommend it!

This 4000 Series is by far the best Dremel I have owned. It is so easy to change accessories because of the quick collet lock feature, it is very well balanced, easy to use and it is extremely versatile with the variable speed capability. The RPM ranges from very slow speed of 5,000 rpm to very fast of 35,000 rpm which means that you can always set the suggested speed for any Dremel accessory. Which ultimately means, that the projects or uses for this tool are limitless! Included are a hard case, accessories for carving, engraving, cutting, grinding, sharpening, cleaning, polishing and sanding, as well as 3 collets. Also included are 4 attachments: a cutting guide, a sanding/grinding guide, a detailer's grip and MY personal favorite...a circle cutter/ staight edge guide! It can cut circles from 3/4" - 12" diameter. As you can see from my pictures, #1 I have cut a circle 3/4 of the way, #2 I am operating the circle cutter and #3 holding the circle I cut. It performed great and worked effortlessly. This Dremel 4000, is a well-built, very powerful and an extremely versatile tool that I will be using often! Thank you, Dremel!

I originally purchased this for routing a channel into an oak table top for copper inlay. It worked like a charm. The kit came with many useful accessories, most of which I've not yet used. The dremel is a perfect solution for when you are working in tight spaces or need fine detail. For even more control, use the flexible shaft pen attachment. I'm sure this will become one of my most often used tool.

Had my 4000 with a flex shaft for one month. I have used the system to wood carve mostly and have enoyed it. I have put about 100 hours on it now and the system has held up fine. For my first carving efforts I think I have done fine with room to Improve.

I purchased this kit to help with some Christmas projects and ended up buying another 4000 Rotary tool kit, the drill press, router table, router attachment, and saw max. Already had the dremel scroll saw. Love these tools. So easy to operate, lots of accessories.

My first Dremel product. Choose this series to get variable speeds. This one came with a good assortment of attachments. I like the way it feels in my hand. Easy to control. My first grinding project went great and I look forward to next use.

It arrived timely and in good shape. I have only used it with the extended "wand" attachment, but found that to be a dream for the work I was doing. Also, the stones and cutters are of much better quality than I expected.
