This product does not work well at all. Today is the first day I’ve truly used it since it was produced. I did a bit of ripping today. As pictured is the result. There was much more dust on the vacuum compared to the separator bucket, and I started with a clean filter. I would not recommend.

The performance is fine for separating the dust before it gets to the filter. However, the durability is not there. It’s prone to tipping over, and after one of those tip overs the hose port shattered.

My old shop vac finally bit the dust (literally) and I ended up getting my replacement at Home Depot. I also noticed the Dustopper and thought it would be worth a try. I have a large dust separator I use with my planer but it is too bulky for small jobs. When I got home with everything, the Dustopper was missing both of the elbows that sere shown on the box. I called their number and they had the parts shipped to me within two days (great customer service!) The picture speaks for itself.

This works very well for separating the the debris from the shop vac. I made a rolling stand from scrap wood.

What can I say, it seems to do what it's supposed to do. I mounted it on top of my shop vac using a milk crate. I hope the photos make sense.

Does what it advertises. Removes almost all dirt & dust without using the shop vac filter.

I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but this product works really well, and I appreciate when other people write reviews. When I saw this product I was skeptical. How could a little piece of plastic keep the dust out of my shop vac. But I tried it and I'm so glad I did. I am amazed at how well it works. I have filled the bucket 3 times with MDF sawdust (really fine dust), and the vacuum canister is empty, and my filter is perfectly clean. I have no idea how it works, but it does. See the photos. The filter looks dirty because I've been using it in my vac for a while and only got the Dustopper recently.

I purchased this product over a year ago because it was on sale. I am very satisfied with it but what I have discovered is how ridiculous the $50 dollar price tag is. The ONLY advantage to this product is it's low profile. If you do not need a low profile then there are MUCH BETTER products on the market that out perform this item AND COST LESS. If a competitor made a similar product and charged say $39.95 for it, they would give Dustopper a run for the money. I will never pay $50 for this.

I'm doing a bathroom remodel. Have never removed tile/thinset before. It's a very dusty job, using a demolition/hammer drill, then a grinder/polisher to level/get rid of the rest. I discovered the Dustopper late in the project, and actually hesitated to buy it. But I did buy it, I did use it, and I can say this is an amazing product! I bought a HEPA filter for the wet/dry vac, but very little dust even made it that far. Don't hesitate or doubt it's efficacy. An amazing product, and well worth the cost! Minimizes mess and need for clean up. My mess was made prior to using the Dustopper. If I had incorporated the Dustopper from the beginning, the project, and my life/wife, would have been much easier.

The hose connections pop off the topper The entire thing on bucket falls over. Home Depot COULD also have mated this up with their currently unavailable model # 229554 Homer Bucket Dolly. I should not be left to complete the design.

This dust collector does well for what it is. I would like to have a unit that attaches to my shopvac and makes it easier to move both around as a unit but for the price it does what is asked of it. Definitely saves your bags/filters on drywall dust and cleanup.

It works as promised ... stopping the dust from getting into the vacuum and clogging the filter. This allows longer periods of higher vacuum pressure, longer periods of work before needing to dump what is picked up, and easier dumping, when required.

Product works well, very happy with it. But shipping with FedEx was a problem. FedEx has zero regards or cares of how customers packages are handled and whether or not they leave them where they are asked to. Home Depot should switch to UPS. Much better customer service.

It works fine just wish the material was a bit heavier and should come with 2 elbows!

That thing is amazing! I have emptied the very full bucket thrice already and the vacuum itself was squeaky clean. It makes my life a lot easier.

I have one and can't wait to get another. If you don't like yours I will buy it from you

Bought 2 of these with 2 Home Depot buckets. The lid hardly fits the bucket and once it’s on it’s almost impossible to get it of. I’m giving it 3 stars for the way it separates the dust but no stars for the design. It’s flawed. This lid should be going on and of the bucket without a struggle. Not recommended.

Better than what I was expecting

I purchased this item in April 2020. It has performed pretty well. Yesterday the edge that seals around the collection bucket cracked. Now I am attempting to glue this back together. When examining the product this area that seals appears thinner than the majority of the top. It became brittle and when removed it broke at the snap. A little over a year of occasional use. I paid $34.97 for this and now the price has jumped to $44.97. For plastic? I'm certain the replacement guarantee time has passed for this item.

For an item that is not expensive, I can’t believe how good it works! At least 95% efficient! It’s plastic but it’s heavy gauge and I think it will be tough. Price, performance and durability, what more can you ask for! I’ve only used it a few weeks but am really impressed.
