This product is so simple yet it works so well! I truly wish I had it years ago. I have spent hundreds of dollars on Shop Vac filters because they get clogged and worn (yes I clean them too) and this device separates the particles and drops them in the bucket!

Works great, it would have been nice for more adapters so the unit could be more compatible with various vacuum brands out of the box. As for the pail, some owners said the orange HD 5 Gallon pail doesn’t work well. This is totally true. I can’t blame dustopper for this. I tried a white HD 4 Gallon pail and it was too loose(!), instead of too tight. A CT 5 Gallon pail was also really tight, like the orange HD pail. I didn’t want to try pushing it on, it felt like the dustopper would break trying to pry off the top. I finally found a perfectly fitting 5 Gallon pail at the prin auto, snaps on and off easily while keeping a great seal.

I didn’t hardly collect anything.

Buy something else, package should include two 90 degree adapter and longer hose. As far as efficiently, 4 star. But as is, 2 star...

I attempted to snap it on to the top of a Home Depot bucket that I ordered at the same time. When I put pressure on it because it was a tight fit it exploded and I was left with six pieces of useless brittle plastic.

This well engineered product does a great job of capturing almost all the dust before it gets to the shop vac. I had a few questions and found the manufacturer's customer support to be top notch.

I use it for my mitre saw and other woodworking equipment. I works perfect with no problems!

I received the Dustopper as a Christmas present from my adult kids (it was at the top of my wish list). I finally had an opportunity to use it yesterday. It works great at trapping sawdust...BUT the housing cracked as I tried to reattach it to the Home Depot pail after emptying it for the first time. As a result, I think it no longer air tight and will not function to draw sawdust from my power tools and is now useless. I am so disappointed that this much needed piece of shop equipment broke on first usage!

Seems like a nice design, but the item broke before I could even use it - the plastic it is made from is very cheap, and it broke/snapped while attaching it to a HomeDepot 19L(5Gal) bucket. This of course means there won't be any suction, so it's garbage. Will return as soon as stores are open again!

Wow this really works and I don't expect to be buying new shop vac filters for a very long time. Since I was at Home depot I could get all the attachments for my vacuum to attach to the seperator and from seperator to my shop tools. The necessary attachments are not readily obvious but plumbing fittings worked for me. Binding the seperator to the vacuum makes it a nice package to move as one unit and minimized hoses running all over and tripping and tangling if it was two units on the floor. See you tube for how to do that. The unit easily sealed nicely to a random product bucket I already had.

Two things you have to consider. The vac system will now have a bucket attached to it making it cumbersome. Some people build a cart for it to solve the problem. There is an additional noise that sounds like a low frequency whislke.

I've had this for a month or two but so far I'm very happy with how it performs. It's a definite upgrade from the DIY one I was using before. Seems like just the very fine dust makes it to my vacuum. Only issue so far is while it latches on well to the bucket, I don't love how hard it is to remove.

This dust separator is easy to set up and use. Unfortunately very fine dust continues through resulting in clogged vacuum filters.

First, for whatever reason, the Dustopper does not appear in the Home Depot site search...have to search as Dust Separator...??? The unit attached easily to a HD orange bucket (purchase separately). Works very well, although it adds a fairly loud whistling noise to the vacuum, hence 4 stars. The bucket falls over when using, so will somehow attach to the side of my shop vac.

Simple basic installation on standard pail. Excellent to intercept particles that would normally fill my vacuum bags and its use also muffle my otherwise noisy cleaner. I would and have recommended it to my brothers and family.

It works very well. However, you do have to pay close attention to the level of waste in the collection bucket to avoid having dust find its way into the vacuum cleaner. Once the collection bucket is more than 3/4 full, dust will find it's way into the vacuum cleaner.

This thing works great! Very little to no sawdust makes it past the bucket to the vacuum. Very low profile and fits a Home Depot bucket perfectly. Highly recommended
