Too difficult to feed even small branches into the device. RETURNED

The part inside where the blade is will wear out fast and then start blowing the chips/dust inside the motor and burn the motor out. It's a TERRIBLE design because its made of plastic in there where all the debris gets flung around and it wears holds in the plastic. Stay away from this chipper. The inside of a chipper where the blades are NEEDS to be made of all metal NOT plastic.

The product works as documented, but is only suitable for small situations. It is pretty tedious if you have a lot of material as it doesn't continuously feed well and you have to constantly coax material though it unless you break a branch up one twig at a time. I find it useful for small stuff that has broken off due to wind, but not suitable for anything that has been cut down, just way too much work. It can be tedious even with small stuff. I had collected a lot of small break offs from our lawn and tried to put them through, they wouldn't go. It took a lot of pushing with the plunger and patience to finally get the material to go through. Basically it wants to be worked with a single piece at a time. The resulting mulch is quite good, nice and even and very suitable for gardening. So be up for a lot of work if you are going to be using this for any significant chipping.

No complaint. Packed well. Simple to assemble. It has limitations but serves my needs. It was what I anticipated.

Powerful enough for what I need to shred.

It’s what I needed but you have to be very careful with soft stuff. It will clog up. But it is easy to clean out.

The chipper was very easy to assemble with understandable directions. The chipper works well when not overloaded or trying to force too many branches into the hopper at one time.

It arrived in perfect order and I ran a couple of test to see how it performs and it is fairly quiet and cuts incredibly uniform. I mix my chips with other ingredients for mulch and this is going to save load of bending and work.

Was finally able to do some good quality of stuff old grapevine, small trees I cut down growing by my fence, and the annoying branches from some trees that blew down. The mulch was great did notice smaller grapevine were 2-4 inch sticks not complaining. Chunks of wood were about 1/4 to 3/4 of inch and once done was able to put at back of yard to help with low areas where rain water collects and takes days to dry up. If you don’t have the funds or need for expensive gas powered ones this one works for me—Also stuff too big can use in my 36” fire pit so everything is used.

The opening in the top of the unit is pretty small and has a very sturdy rubber flap under it. These 2 things keep the user safe from flying debris, but also mean the branches need to be broken down to basically strait limbs. It works well, just slower than I hoped.

It is pretty good for the small stuff around the yard. Anything that's close to 1 inch thick has trouble going through and you have to be careful with. Anything real small doesn't get chipped well. I had another brand before and it only lasted an hour before it didn't work, but this one has lasted the summer so far. Probably one of the better chippers in this style/price range.

Easy to assemble, but missing parts. After I put it together it works very well.

Feed throat was to too restrictive, that is each small PCS had to be feed in one by one.

I bought this for Father's day for my husband. it only takes leaves and little twigs maybe a 16th of in. it gets stuck all the time. and putting it together terrible also. It is cheap and it does not work like it should...DO NOT BUY!!!!

Video makes it look easy to shred leave. That is not so. Extremely labor intensive because it will only accept few leaves into a very small opening. Looks big with the bin on top but the actual access hole to the small. You can pile the leaves into the bin at the top but then have to use a plunger to get even a miniscule amount of leaves to the grinding head.

Made quick work of the dead branches we trimmed off our tree's. What didn't become firewood, became mulch.

Primarily bought to use for getting rid of bougainvillea trimmings. It does a good job of chipping them, however, the thorns tended to get caught up going through the hopper, which I had to remove in order to get the branches into the chipper. This helped though the thorns were still getting hung up on the flappers over over the blades. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and saved a lot of time and work having to cut up the pieces to dump in the trash can or put in bags for bulk pickup.

I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the Earthwise chipper/shredder. It did everything as advertised and if it holds up and gives me some productive seasons I will be thrilled.

First off, the people in here complaining this thing doesn't shred leaves are hilarious. Not supposed to shred your leaves! Anyway, unit does exactly what it describes. No problem with branches that are max size, nor problems with woody vines that can sometimes tangle other units. Easy to use, easy to put together.

Glorified paper shredder. If you plan on using this for anything other than leaves, don’t. You will be disappointed.
