[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My building's central hair has been broken since before last summer and I caved. The advertised minimum window height varied between 21.5" and 22.5". GIven that the unit itself is only 20.25", I decided to chance it. Turns out a 21.25" opening is, with the support installed, exactly the minimum height for the opening. You could probably get away with 20.75" without the support. Keeps my bedroom very cool. It's not silent, I wouldn't even call it "quiet", definitely not as quiet as the advertising leads you to believe. If you've slept in a hotel room in summer with the A/C running it's comparable to that. The noise doesn't bother me but it might bother light sleepers.

It could use more strips of foam insulation to make the installation go a little better.The plastic panel could’ve been made a better material and a little taller. These units tend to be very expensive compared to the horizontal kind. Overall pleased with the result

Works great!!! Installation kit was for horizontal sliding window but I made it work for my vertical window. I am satisfied so far. I would recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this AC as an additional cooling unit to cool a couple of rooms at the rear of my mother's house. Since the window I needed to install the unit in was the older vertical sliding aluminum framed type from the 60's this unit was the perfect choice. I did have to modify the installation some as the window casement would not allow for installation as instructed. This, of course, did add a little time to the installation with just a small amount of added difficulty. However, once installed the unit worked and cooled as I would expect one this size to. Overall I am very satisfied with the air conditioner and have always preferred to use Frigidaire window/wall AC units due to the great performance I have experienced with similar products in the past.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed a used casement unit into the kitchen wall over 10 yrs ago. The old unit started to make noise. Bought this one since the dimensions were almost the same. Although the old unit took some doing in getting it out do to the dried caulking, the new Frigidaire slipped in with ease and is working great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 3 weeks ago, and so far its been amazing! My room was unbearable before and now its nice and cool. The fan makes some noise but nothing terrible. Id say its consistent with a lot of the ac units you hear in a hotel. it fit great in my sliding window. It did come missing a few pieces of the installation kit for supporting it, but they sent me the pieces once i notified them. I would definitely recommend!

It took me a while to find this A/C unit that fits my 36x24 sliding window in my office. It is more than twice as much as a comparable unit for a single hung windows. But this thing works great and cools down my 200 square-foot office in minutes and is relatively quiet too. It is heavy and took two people to install. It comes with a metal brace bracket to support the 80-plus pounds. The fit, form and function were worth the extra cost. It was shipped free directly to my house within 3 days. Overall, I am very pleased with it and I no longer dread working in my office on 90-plus degree days.

Air conditioner works well overall. We have it in a large room on a second floor. It is quiet for an air conditioner. No problem talking in the room or watching T.V. at normal volumes. It cools well. Installation was not too bad. Our window is too large for the kit so I got better weather stripping and double stick tape and cut a piece of plexi-glass for a clean weather resistant installation. Issues? 1). It cycles on/off more than seems necessary. When it's on "Auto" and it's not very hot out it will cycle on for 10-30secs and off again, over and over. 2). Shipping/delivery!: The first one I un-boxed was obviously previously installed and had scratches and even touch up paint on some of them. I lugged the 89lbs. package to HD for a return. HD sent #2 and it had a very large dent in the steel frame that looked terrible. I refused to carry the 2nd one to my local HD. They did not argue and agreed to have it picked up. I still had to re-box it which is a chore. They marked the third delivery for "special packaging" on my insistence that 89lbs isn't likely to survive in the thin box with only a bit of thin cheap Styrofoam to keep it safe (this is how Frigidaire boxes it). Well it arrived without the requested improved packaging but it did survive well enough. Third time is a charm?j

6 months old and just got it hooked up. It was banged up on the lower corners but isn't affecting the performance. Easy to install and looks good. Very quite in my opinion. I have tried 2 of the portable AC's, 1 hose and 2 hose models 10,000 & 12,000 and was very disappointed with them. Sent them back. This is 8000 and puts the others to shame. If this keeps working well I will be very pleased with Frigidaire. Would have given 5* if not for the damage.

Has a slight whine that is off and on again but I'm getting used to it. The unit is working well at this point. It replaced the 15 year old Kenmore unit that I believe was made by Frigidaire. Hope to see you all in another 15.

I just got a piece of some sort of plastic that looked like corrugated cardboard but plastic which is not what I want above the unit. Luckily the piece from our old window unit fit perfectly so I used it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this AC unit a month ago and it's Fantastic, it's verything that I expected from Frigidaire. It goes above and beyond my expectations.

I have had the unit in operation for about 5 weeks. My only dislike is in the fact that the unit is noisier than anticipated. Otherwise, it meets expectations.

Nice for an office and small window

Love the energy saving mode

I have gone thru 3 of these Frigidaire AC’s and every one had a bad compressor. The window is high upstairs and its frustrating trying to keep replacing this AC. Never again!! Called Frigidaire and is always kept on hold for so long and never gets thru.
