This product is waterbased, so surfaces should be clean and it will only dry as fast as water naturally evaporates. So if you apply in damp or cool conditions, it will be very slow drying. Instead you should apply on a clear warm day, and the product dries very well.

If you end up with thick spots (for whatever reason), those areas will take a very long time to dry (assuming they completely dry at all). And, if you end up with heavy rain before it's completely dry (like I did), the product may become soft and partially wash away (which it certainly did for me). I say "partially" because, just like paint, this product only completely washes out if you clean it immediately, so wear old clothes and shoes when applying.
On another note, I ordered two, but they didn't come on the same day. One of the buckets had no label and a lid that was extremely difficult to get off.
Thankfully, application was relatively easy except roofs are HOT, so take an old towel with you to catch the sweat!

Excellent Product , easy to apply , simple as paint , great coating for dark colored roofs , I would highly recommend a 2-3 coat application . After application it lowered the overall temp in my home by 8 degrees ,,, and the roof was cool to the touch even in direct sun light .

This product made a night and day difference. I performed a small test on my roof. And the results were incredible in with only one coat of product. Would highly recommend it to someone who is looking to reduce electric bills and comfort of home due to excessive heat from metal roof

Sorry to hear your frustration. Sta-Kool products are waterbased, and do need warm and dry weather conditions for proper curing. When that happens, you will get excellent results. During winter months it is difficult to get proper drying conditions, so be patient and find the proper days for an application.
If you are applying the product before an approaching rainstorm, use our Eterna-Kote Silicone Roof Coating. This moisture cure product sets up much quicker and would be a better choice in that environment. Eterna-Kote is rain safe in 1 hour.
Regardless of what product you choose, the longer you allow the product to dry before rain, the better off you are.
