Customer service from Genie
Worst customer service ever trying to contact Genie. First the install date from Genie headquarters date set, no show no notification. Local installer contact was great. Trying to contact and register warranty terrible, made very difficult to speak with a rep, had a call back set for two hours later. Maybe they will call, maybe.

Was advertised to be WiFi capable and was not. Even the box is arrived in said WiFi capable but the product inside was NOT WiFi capable. I entered the serial number of the opener on the Genie web site and was told that the serial numbered item was not WiFi Capable.

Easy Install With Lots Of Resources
My only problem came from trying to use my old sensors. They were not compatible, and I spent half an hour trouble-shooting to discover the problem. I recommend replacing everything other than the wiring if you are replacing an older opener.

Overall installation was pretty straight forward. Programming the opener was easy. Overall it all went pretty well accept for getting the phone app to work properly and the battery backup was bad but both were solved talking to Genie support. Wait time was 1 hour both times I called. The phone app. problem of not allowing remote operation of the door was fixed on their end somehow in about 5 minutes. The backup battery unit was replaced under warranty and worked upon arrival. Now that it's all working I'm completely satisfied and hope this one lasts as long as the original Genie it's replacing, 37 years!

Garage door opener works great. Low noise, opens quickly. Power outage/electrical work done. No problem comes with battery back.

Pros: Lifts a heavy wooden sectional two car garage with ease. Faster opening and closing vs. my old 1/2 HP screw drive opener I replaced. Satisfied with the purchase.
Cons: I’m relatively tech savvy, but I can’t get the Aladdin App/unit to recognise my home Wifi. I’m sure I could figure out the problem but don’t want to spend the time. Not a big deal to me since that’s not a reason for my purchase. So I still rated the opener five stars.

Installation was excellent. Overhead door did a fabulous job. They were no ads no ups and no extras. The unit itself is very upgraded and very powerful and quiet.

Positions of door keep changing.
Opener worked fine for a while. It then started drifting down on the stop position. I have to reset the open and close position about once a week. I called Genie, they told me the problem was with my door. I had door checked out everything was good. I will never buy another Genie door opener. Junk!

This opener is not sufficient for heavier doors. This opener is rated as 2 HP. The main rail has several sections and is not sturdy enough to handle, i.e. a wood door. I had to get a commercial brand (1/2 HP) to handle the load. I ordered this unit online but returned it to the store. The clerks did an outstanding job of handling the return. I give them high profs for understanding the situation and giving me no hassles.

Disappointed
Bought this recently. Shorter than last genie, had to move bars above. Not a direct replacement, also did not come with battery backup as stated, definitely not as quiet as I wanted. i thought was a quiet version, would choose another next time. Not worth the price, better economical versions available that are quieter

I the like way it closes door slower near end. Lag bolts supplied broke heads off just as they got tight fastening opener to ceiling. There should be a better way to fasten sensor wires on top of rail.
