It's very easy to replace since it is pre-cabled to the connector. Unfortunately, five years life spam is half of what other products are.

High quality US-made smoke and CO alarm. Looks very elegant, is practical and well designed. Easy to install.

I replaced the 2 detectors in our house. No problem connecting to existing wiring. I like that the backup battery can be replaced with the unit in place, and that it's an American made product.

The only brand that still manufactures residential smoke alarms in America. Feels like something very difficult to break. Build quality is great on it. Works real well too. A little tricky to wire with all the wires that come out of the back but if you read the manual you should be OK. It's larger than most residential smoke alarms, however. The reason for the size is because it has both a smoke and a carbon monoxide sensor.
