Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, Manufacturers are required by California law to place a warning on any product that contains certain chemicals that MAY cause cancer. This law is called Prop 65. In order to sell the product in the state of California, this warning must appear on the product packaging. Prop 65 lists over 3000 different chemicals that the state of California claims MAY cause cancer. It does not mean that using our product WILL cause cancer. Among some of the chemicals on the list are Lead, Cadmium and many others. We use trace amounts of cadmium in our night lights and batteries, so we have to list the Prop 65 warning on the package for those items.
You can be assured that our products are safe to use. f you look around your home and stores that you shop with, almost every product will have some element that is on the list. Any chemical is only harmful if a consumer is exposed to a very large concentration for a prolonged period of time. This is not the case with any of our products. They are safe to use.
