Instructions were fairly easy to follow, self installed the fan myself

I recently purchased a new condo. As I’ll be adding a 3 season room next year I purchased this fan as it’s the same one used in the build. I want things to match. As far as this fan goes its very quiet and looks awesome. So happy I found this at my store.

It has a hum to it that I don’t like but other than that I like it

We needed more light in our kitchen and this makes it 100 times brighter! The only problem we had was that the mounting plate screw holes didn't line up with the holes in the box (our home was built in the 50's). My husband was able to make it work by using a washer to mount. We had the same problem installing a new fan in our bedroom and found that the Hampton Bay brand was the only one that we were able to do this with.

Very easy to mount and put together. I’m very experienced but someone with less experience can do it as well.

Hampton sidlow is a good option for low ceilings

2 out of 4 fans worked perfectly for me! I needed a fan for two rooms. First fan I installed, the motor sounded scary loud. After trouble shooting and reading reviews, I decided to swap it for another fan. The second fan I installed, success! Motor sounded way more quiet, like a new/normal fan should. Surprisingly, the same scenario happened in the next room too. First fan was crazy loud, the second fan was perfect. So, quality is hit or miss with the motor as well as some cosmetic defects.

I used to have a downrod fan. it worked great, but the plaster ceiling was chipping away around junction box. I bought this fan with the large base to cover up damaged ceiling. Instalation was easy. Fan is rock solid. But I don't feel the air as much as my old downrod fan. other than that it's great.

Several features make me a “fan” of this ceiling fan. The design feature that separates this fan from the competition is the way the blades attach to the blade brackets. The brackets have the screws installed with rubber boots on them. The blades have larger holes to fit over the boot, but you slide them into place rather than attaching via screws. The smaller hole keeps the blade in place, but it’s held secure by a small metal flange. This allows for simpler installation and a screw less appearance. Another nice feature are the included bulbs and the lightweight shades.

Good looking fan I installed in the master bedroom of a new home. The First thing I laid out everything and made sure all part were there. Then I used the instructions that are very good and clear. I got all the way to installing the blade Bracket arms and had to stop. My screwdriver I was using was so close to the motor assembly it rubbed against the lower light body so I had to call the wife to bring a different screwdriver from the home we are moving out of. Any way had to wait a hour or scratch the new fan up. I waited. The right tool for the job is important. Any way I got the Fan installed and it's well made Till you get to the Shatter resistant plastic shade. What I did not like about it is they are (Plastic) and they just twist lock in place. You can't change them out with glass there is no set screws to lock in a replacement. This fan does not have a remote but I have light switches for fan and light separate on the walls so I can set the fan with the pull chains and then just use the light switch. The fan is well made runs good and no noise. It would of been a 5 star if it was not for the plastic shades.

I was replacing an existing 10 year old working ceiling fan with this Hampton Bay fan. First the good. The final installed ceiling fan looked great. Some of the install methods or systems were well thought out and provide installation time savings. One example is the way the fan blades install on the brackets. They simply slide on with a locking click. No need to secure in the blades by screwing in 3 screws on every bracket. Also the screws on the blade brackets that screw into the fan housing are attached to the brackets and do not fall out. No need to hold the bracket in place, and try to use your remaining hand to handle a screwdriver and the screw at the same time. These are really clever convenient time saving ideas. Offers black or a rustic wood grain blade color option. Not a fan (no pun intended) of the black, but really liked the brown. The instructions are fine. Now for the bad, and it's a killer. After completing the install, I turned on power, only to be greeted by a fairly loud annoying hum from the electric motor. It was really bad on high, and then did decrease on the lower speeds, but it was still there and very noticeable. I followed the trouble shooting methods in the manual, including making sure it was level (it was), but none of them stopped that noise. I removed the light fixture to eliminate that as a noise source, but noise continued. I let it run for 24 hours as the trouble shooting section suggested. After that 24 hours, the noise remained and even seemed like it might be even louder. I've installed probably 15-20 ceiling fans in my lifetime, but none of them made this loud a hum. Ended up taking this Hampton Bay fan down and re-installing the previous fan that was there. That old one worked fine after re-installing it at least. What a waste of an afternoon. Well, at least the light bulbs worked.

The Hampton Bay Sidlow ceiling fan is a great upgrade to our dated and noisy ceiling fan. Installation was super simple and straight forward with the provided instructions. The mounting bracket that attaches to your ceiling box has a hook on it which will help support the weight of the fan as you work on the wiring. The bucket cover is HUGE! The base is approx. 12” wide, so if you have a large hole to cover or some bad drywall work to cover, this will definitely do the trick. The cover is also 6 1/4” tall. The cover does make the fan look rather bulky at the base, as it is just not proportionated to the rest of the fan. The blades are double sided and come in your choice of a wood finish or black. I do love the ease of installing the fan blades, they are as simple as just lining them up and locking them into place, no dealing with a bunch of screws to attach the blades. The bulb covers are plastic, and the included bulbs are what make this fan “LED” but at least you have the option to change the bulbs if they are not to your liking/too bright. Once everything is installing and running, I have no complaints, the lights are bright and the fan is perfectly quiet, even at its highest setting.

I have installed a lot of ceiling fans so I didn’t need to watch the video for installation. If you have not installed ceiling fans before I would suggest you watch it. This fan has a couple installation features to make the job easier. I really like how the blades attach to the fan, the easiest blades I have ever installed. Over all the installation went very quick and was easy. The fan looks nice, runs very quietly and with plastic globes, it is child friendly. For the price range of this fan, it is an excellent deal!

So I gave a overall four star review because of the three star quality. The Dan was very easy to install and put together. The hanging hook for the fan miter is a nice touch. The press in and auto lock fan blades were easy to put in as well. Overall the install was the best hugger fan I have ever installed. However a few things I did not like. I would like to see real glass light cover or plastic. Also would like to see the pull chins labeled so you can easily see the fan or light chasing. Also the fan motor make a humming sound. I noticed a vibration in the light cover. By pressing on then and adjusting the light fixtures it has seemed to get rid of the humming for now

This Hampton Bay ceiling fan is not only attractive but is easy to install. They nailed it with their Quickfit installation design, and the LED bulbs for the light are also included. The directions that come with the fan are easy to follow and there is also an online video available. You don't have to worry about dropping screws when installing the fan blade brackets, the screws are secured to the bracket and there is a guide to help line up the screw holes. The fan blades easily snap into place on the blade arms. The light globes which are shatter resistant simply twist lock onto the light kit. The fan has 3 speeds and is reversible and can be operated with the light on or off. Overall I am happy with this fan it looks great and is quiet .

Beautiful Easy to put up and a very good price

Very slow and the air does flow in the room properly. Very disappointed 😔

Hanging bracket forces you to buy extra long screws(not Included) to hang. Light kit wires don’t lock good forcing you to tape. Looks nice just needs more quality control
