Breaks easily and they will not sell the parts separately. I regret buying it!

Got the shipment couple days ago. I Followed through the instructions, at the step where I put my mixer on STIR as instructed. And when I was pouring my ingredients, I heard a loud breaking sound and the part broke and came off.

A few years into it and while it was cared for properly and a small spot seems to have corroded from the inside causing a hole where the cooling fluid seeps out. Very disappointed.

I asked for an ice cream maker for the Professional 6000 HD. Kitchen Aid sent me to this model KICA0WH..... Guess what? DOES NOT WORK ON A 6000 HD. Even the box it comes in shows the ARTISAN MODEL and not the Professional 6000 HD. I made a video of me trying to use two different attachments but this would only allow me to attach YouTube videos.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After purchasing An ice cream maker attachment for my son, I decided to purchase one for myself. I have found no problems or issues with it. It is very easy to use and works like a champ. Lots of bad reviews out there, but I’ve had absolutely no issues. Would highly recommend.

We were very excited to purchase this attachment for our stand mixer. We followed all instructions properly and have made a few different batches of ice cream without issue. We always wait for the bowl attachment to completely cool down after using before even attempting to wash it (leave it for 24 hours to room temperature). Then we let it completely dry after hand-washing it before putting it back in our freezer. For some reason 3 months after we purchased it, it started leaking blue coolant liquid all over our freezer! Not impressed, especially with how much it cost. Don’t feel safe using it anymore obviously. Do not recommend.

I wish I would have seen all these poor product reviews before I purchased mine. The drive adaptor from the oscillating mixer head is a cheap piece of plastic that broke on my first use.

I have had this ice cream freezer with my previous stand mixer. I upgraded to the 7 qt mixer and the adapter does fit the new mixer! I am very disappointed that it does not. I hope you have an adapter that fits the 7qt mixer. The bowl fits!!!

Bought the ice cream maker a month ago and was so excited to have our first attempt at making our own ice cream. Followed the directions and was very disappointed. The connection from the dasher to the mixer head snapped!!!! It's only plastic and doesn't directly fasten together. We started pouring the mixture in and the dasher stopped rotating and snapped the connection. Now we have a lot of soft ice cream mix with nowhere to put it. Don't know that I'd recommend this accessory with this design.

Received Christmas of 2019 and have used on average twice a month with zero problems. We follow the care directions each time. The bowl is stored in the freezer and we pull it out when we are ready to use it. Typically we make ice cream late in the evening so the bowl sits on the kitchen counter until the next morning in order to thaw completely. Then we wash it dry it and return it to the freezer in the morning. This ensures that we have never cracked the bowl or had any problems with it.

This was a gift purchased from my wedding registry. I was super excited to use it finally, and the first time I used it, it broke. I followed all of the instructions, but the dasher and driver don’t are horribly designed and don’t fasten together. The plastic pieces are just supposed to turn together without fastening, and this design desperately needs to be revisited. I would give this 0 stars if I could.

Started leaking blue fluid after using was gentle with it and used rubber spatula So have to throw it out. Kitchen aid won't replace. Will buy a new one from a different maker

Assembly broke first time we tried to use it. Was purchased for a birthday present. Very disappointed.

The second time I used the ice cream maker, the drive assembly for the ice cream bowl suddenly chipped in half, making the rest of the ice cream maker useless. I can't find anywhere to order a replacement for that particular part, but without it, the rest of the ice cream maker unusable.

I got this as a gift a couple of years ago. It has worked okay until now. I went to get something else out of the cabinet it was in and noticed the blue goo. Has kitchen aid improved this item yet? Would love a replacement instead of buying another machine.

I was skeptical about this product due to the reviews. I am SO happy I ordered this!!!!! It makes the most amazing ice cream. If you read the directions carefully and follow them as written you will not be disappointed!

Right now I'm at a loss for how to rate a one only had this product for 2 years ... used maybe a dozen times. Went to place in freezer so I could use....and the blue liquid was dropping out of the side where it clicks onto Stand mixer... with paying so much I'm hoping kitchen aid will replace as def a health hazard for us now as we cannot safely use.

I've had this bowl for a few years but had only used it twice, until the covid-19 pandemic hit and like everyone else, since I was stuck at home, I started to do more cooking and trying new recipes. I've made less than 10 batches total with this bowl and when I took it out yesterday to make another batch, I saw the dreaded blue goo leaking from the bowl pin that snaps into the spring latch on the column of my bowl-lift KitchenAid mixer. After reading about the experiences of others with the leaking blue goo, I was always very careful with this bowl, hand washing only after it was fully thawed, leaving it out a full day to dry before storing it upright in the way back of the freezer, away from other items to prevent it from getting knocked around. I'm so disappointed. At this price, I will just buy a Cuisinart ice cream maker. My sister-in-law has one and it seems easier to use and foolproof. She's had hers for years, uses it often, and has never had any problems with it. And they cost less. The only reason I was keeping the KitchenAid mixer around was just to make ice cream. I prefer the tilting head Cuisinart stand mixer over my KitchenAid Bowl-Lift mixer, for a more powerful, professional-grade mixer.

Received as a gift for my professional 550 plus . Used twice and my mixer quit after two years . Was forced to upgrade the mixer to a newer model 600 professional and can’t even use the attachment. The neck that the top spring loaded portion clips onto is way thicker than the old one . The bowl fits great . Turned it on speed 1 to make sure it was going to go and it destroyed the mixing paddle

This attachment came with my mixer when purchased. Have only used it three times over the years. Put it in the freezer and for several hours it was fine and then blue everywhere all of the sudden. I had hoped once it thawed the leaking would stop but it does not. It sits on the counter and leaks for days now. I liked the product when it worked so its unfortunate. This seems to be a problem many others have run into also. Too expensive for this to happen.

I bought the attachment a few years ago and have used it a few times. It seldom stayed cold enough to actually freeze the ice cream, even after having been in the freezer two days for preparation. Then the last time I used it, it leaked blue liquid all over the freezer, and continued leaking when I took it out of the freezer. Of course, warranty is out. And you can't purchase just the bowl. Not worth the price.

Bought this ice cream maker attachment a couple of years back, use it a couple of times and normally store in original box. But recently when we took it out for use again we found it was leaking coolant in the weirdest spot, right in the back hinge on the side where there is normally no pressure applied when using the product. Coolant residue all over the freezer, didn't expect it not to last similar to experience reported by others. Very disappointed as it was a pretty good when working.

I just recently purchased ice cream attachment. I read manual and cleaned as it said. I let it come to complete room temp-thaw out over night. Completely dried and put it back in freezer. No issues. I was told that’s why people have blue leaking was washing while cold. We shall see! I like it I recommend it!

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and today I was planning to have a nice dessert. The plastic hook got broken after stirring for a couple of minutes. 100% disappointed. I was a fan of the brand until today. Seriously, the most important part of the attachment made of plastic? I checked and there is so many people complaining about the same. Please stop selling this item.

second time using it and the part that attaches to the mixer snapped in half waste of money

We have had this product for a few years, and only used it a handful times and it currently is leaking blue stuff everywhere. This is the 2nd time I have gotten the Ice cream maker because I had the same issue with the first one. This must mean it is a design flaw. I kept the ice cream maker in it's box, not in the freezer when it was not in use. I am disappointed that this product does not withstand time. I expect more out of my kitchenaid products and overall dissapointed in their icecream maker.

I received this ice cream attachment as a wedding gift several years ago. It worked well and was fun to use. But, after 3-4 uses, it started leaking coolant from the pieces that stick out from the side. I received a replacement. I used the replacement once or twice. I took it out of the box from a kitchen cabinet today and there was a crack across the bowl and leaked coolant in the bottom of the box. Very disappointed with the quality.

I have used my ice cream bowl a handful of times and it makes great ice cream. However, it leaks blue liquid every time I use it! Kitchen aid makes excellent products so I am a little surprised to see that there are a lot of people experiencing the same problem with blue liquid leaking all over!

So I bought this and tried for the first time yesterday, just a simple vanilla icecream. Wanted to make sure it worked and worth the money. I dont know what other people's problems are if you understand the English language and can follow directions. Best icecream I've ever had... it was so light and fluffy and I knew every single ingredient!!! If you love icecream I say buy this attachment!!! So worth it!!!

the drive assembly broke during the first use. can't get ahold of kitchenaid support for dear life... highly disappointed in this product. this was a christmas gift so i have no clue where it was bought.
