After spending way too long trying to fish a new wire down from the attic I ran to the store to buy this. I should have bought it years ago. It would have saved me time. I like this model because it is a smaller diameter than the other rods I looked at. The ends have a metal cap with a small hole. You can push one of the 12 or 14 gauge conductors (not the entire wire, just one conductor) through the hole and tape it off to pull a wire through the wall. Very flexible even in tight corners. It says it glows in the dark but I didn't notice that feature in my project.

Works like a charm. The only thing i dispike about it is that it wont connect to my 5' fish sticks. The flexibility is great in insulated walls and going from the eave to the attic for adding exterior lights on the eave.

It's a fiberglass rod with a bullet tip at both ends. Each tip has a hole to be able to pull your cable through most wall and ceiling cavities. It also glows after exposed to light which allows to easily finding when hooking through a single-gang box cutout. Fine for switch height to ceiling and outlet height to floor. For any pulls over 5', this stick will be challenging.

Not what I expected
Push tool in wall between bundle of structured wires, looking for 1 of 5 holes at top of ceiling stud. Three times it hit the horizontal stud, and on the fourth try it jammed. And at no time was the rod forced I tried several times with light and firm pulling, to no avail. Luckily I still had coiled, coat hanger sized, wire. I cut and straighten a 6' - 7' section, feed from the attic, and found my opening to pull Cat 6 cable into junction box. After this success, I tried 2 more firm pulls on the Klein tool, still nothing. Followed up with 4 hard jerks and tool finally came out. It had bent 7" from the end, creating a hook within the bundled cables. Well it didn't break, but it didn't flex either???

Too short to be useful
Needs to be 8'. The glow was not very bright either. Returned - used wall fish instead

Very handy tool for re-configuring wiring when moving walls, especially if the space above or below is open. I purchased the 6' version but comes in various sizes and extension combinations. Especially useful with walls filled with insulation where a fish tape is very difficult to use. Tip: Work with an assistant and communicate over walkie talkie or cell phone. Great time saver if access is a crawl space or attic.

Great for straight runs
Good tensile flexible strength to force the opening for wires, can bend over 180° not break. But is best suited for straight or almost straight run. Need room above run for this rod to fit.

Right tool for the job
The glow rod is designed to pull wire behind walls and ceilings. Without this product I could not have moved the recepticles that I wanted in a different location. The product worked flawlessly.

unreal
I have been an avid fish tape user, but was talked into this for the shorter distances to run wire behind established walls. Unreal... way easier then tape. Faster and way more control. The glow is nice to follow your line toward your cutout. If you do not have this or used it you are missing out.
