Way over hyped and priced
Side boxes are lame. The turn screw on the side will not hold them when carrying the unit. They easily pop in......and pop out, letting the boxes fall and everything inside spill out! Be using a rubber band when moving/transporting. The exhaust connection would have been better if it would have been a 45 or 90* connection instead of straight in keeping the vac hose in a better position. Wish I would have known someone who had one, probably wouldn't have bought this model. clamping is good.

Complete Kit Makes Pocket Holes a Snap I have never done pocket holes, but I am preparing to make a storage seat for the grandchildren's playroom. Most of the plans call for using pocket holes for assembly. This kit comes with everything you need to create pocket holes, from the jig, the clamp to hold it to the work surface, a drill bit to create the holes, drivers for driving the square-holed screws and a set of screws to start with. In the attached photographs, all of the parts were included with the product. The only exceptions are the drill motor, vacuum, the clamps I used to hold the test work piece while assembling it, and of course the wood. It not only comes with a dust collector, but also an adapter so the dust collector can be used with larger hose sizes. No assembly is actually required to use it, but if you want the work supports and other features, it assembles in just a few minutes with no tools. The instructions are extremely detailed with excellent pictures to guide you step-by-step from setup through an assembled product. The base of the tool holds the specialized parts, such as the drill bit, measuring tool, depth adjustment wrench, and special screw driver bits. The drill bit even stores with the depth stop attached. The other parts, such as the clamp, fit inside the work support surfaces. The wings fold up against the jig for easy storage. I have owned a few Kreg products in the past. All of them have worked extremely well and have lasted a long time. This hole jig is especially well built and looks to last a lifetime.

Kreg 720 Pocket Hole Jig-PRO – Kreg has made significant improvements with the 720 jig. In the past, changes with new models were mostly incremental from the previous ones. The 720 jig is much larger than older models and looks more like a professional tool, but more importantly is the automatic clamping system which securely holds any thickness workpiece up to 1-1/2” and sets the drill guide to the proper height. There is a knob to fine-tune clamping pressure, if necessary. The basic jig has fold out wings to support wide workpieces and the PRO models come with the “docking station” supports; two plastic storage boxes that clip to the jig and foldup to the jig for storing. This could be the one weakness; the boxes and the clips seem somewhat fragile and feel they could break off. The jig comes with a clamp for securing to a work surface or it can be screwed down. Using the clamp, the jig and be turned 90 degrees for drilling pocket holes in workpieces that are too long to stand vertically. Other improvements: older models had dust collection that worked fine, but the 720 jig dust collection works great. The 720 has onboard tool storage for the drill bit, driver bit, etc.

Really good – some concerns though. I have previously used pocket holes for preassembling door trim and already own another Kreg pocket hole jig. This one should fit well for someone who plans on a lot of pocket hole work or expects projects with a lot of different sized stock. What’s Good? 1. The automatic clamp works quite well. The clamping surface is large and I found it worked well and held the wood well with all sample pieces I tried. It automatically adjusted for the size of the stock and also automatically aligned the drill guide exactly where it needs to be. Note, Kreg says that it works for material from ½” to 1 ½”. Most other pocket hole jigs require manual adjustment for both size and alignment. The time saving that result from this, if you often use different size stock, will be substantial. 2. The unit can be mounted horizontally which will make is easier to work with longer stock and comes with a clamp for locking it to the work surface. 3. It has a built in chip and dust extraction port with vacuum tube adapters to attach it to a shop-vac. 4. The markings on drill bit, for stock depth, make it very easy to set the correct depth (see photo). 5. Everything you need, unless you need lots of different screws, can be stored on the jig or in the storage cases/material support wings. 6. Instructions are clear and mostly focus on jig setup. Kreg and others have lots of videos online for using pocket hole joinery. Advice: 1. I think for anyone expecting a lot of use, consider screwing the jig to a wood base with wood material support blocks to either side. If you want to use the stop gauge you may then want to find a way (double sided tape?) to fix the cases/wings down to the wood base to protect them from being knocked off. 2. Check that the size works for you because it is larger than a lot of other pocket hole jigs (see photo comparing it to a milk bottle). Folded it is 9” tall, 7 ½” wide, and just a bit more than 12” deep. 3. The included screws are for interior use. Buy exterior screws for projects which will be exposed to moisture. Concerns: 1. The hinge points for the cases/wings are fairly thin and look like they could be easily broken. The same with clips that hold up the cases/wings to the jig for storage. 2. The included length stop can be pushed sideways a bit depending on how quickly you put the stock in. So, be careful not to do that. 3. 3. The material support wings and storage boxes are just slightly (about 1/32nd ) higher than 1 1/2”. If adding more material support is needed ,for larger work pieces be careful to find wood of a similar dimension. I checked some 2x4 I had lying around and it was exactly 1 ½” which means it would not be high enough to add more support. 4. The lack of a case makes it more likely that the storage cases/wings could be broken off when the jig is being moved and stored. I recommend being careful with it or detaching the cases/wings and putting everything in a box. Recommendations for Improvements: 1. The center point markings on clamp are nice and could be made more visible if they are painted white. 2. I would feel much more comfortable with permanent metal hinges for the cases/wings or “beefier” hinges. 3. A case would be worthwhile and something that I would pay extra for. I’d like to see a hard case with flat sides to make storing the jig easier.

If you are getting into building things with wood, this is definitely a must have tool for simple yet strong joinery of things like table legs and cabinet carcasses. As an amateur wood worker, I found joining two pieces of wood at right angles to be frustration, especially since I am not yet experienced enough at other joinery methods that create strong connections. Pocket screws are a fantastic way to do this and Kreg is the leader and master in this area. The Pocket Hole Jig pro has everything you need to make and use pocket holes and screws. The clamping jig and docking station is compact and comes with on board storage for (almost) everything: the clamp, drill bit, driver bits, depth gauge, and even screws (and the kit comes with a great starter kit of screws). The docking station (the two ‘wings’ on the sides) can be removed and be used to support longer pieces of wood. Setup and take down is a snap and it is easy to store. The bench clamp allows the jig to be securely mounted on a work bench and the jig itself can be used in either a horizontal or vertical orientation, depending on your needs. I highly recommend this; this is one of those things you didn’t know you needed until you have one.

I have looked at these for a while, but all ways put off. this model has seemly corrected a lot of the small issues with the past models, which makes me thing KREG listens. They have a automatic clamp now, just push down on the handle and it clamps, no more screwing the nut till you get it right.. The side stabilizers are great if you are doing a wide board, You do not have to balance board or put support under. They also serve as parts boxes and has measure marks on. Has a clamp to mount securely or you can screw down to a board. The storage on the back (see picture) puts everything you need regularly easy to reach. 2 boxes of different length screws are included to practice with right away. Very nice tool. KREG has very good video's on U tube.

I’ve been using Kreg pocket hole jigs for a few years now. I have the smaller jig and it’s worked very well, but I’ve always wanted one of the bigger jigs because it can get to be a hassle manually clamping the smaller jig when you have a bunch of holes to drill. This jig has all the feature I have been wanting and no doubt this will increase my efficiency in pocket hole joinery. This has it’s own clamp, automatically detects the thickness, dust control options, and on-board storage for all the accessories. Setting up and drilling the pocket holes is easy and they make it better by making it easy to create repeatable pocket holes. That was something that I did a lot of with the smaller jig but this makes it so much easier to do. Kreg jigs have been very reliable for me, and I am so happy to add this pro version to my tool set!

If you work with pocket holes a lot, you will want to add this setup to your tool collection. It is much faster then using the portable jig with the clamp. You can have your piece set up in no time. If you have to do a bunch of pieces with the same spacing, you can set a stop so they all line up the same. There a couple of ways to set this jig up. You can use the included clamp to clamp it to a workbench or table. You can screw down the base with the stabilizing wings folded out, and then fold the wings back in when not in use. Or you can mount the adapters for the storage boxes and hold it down that way. There are also plans available to build it into a work center. I love the way it is designed for compace storage. The back has storage for the bits, and setup tool. The wings fold in place. The storage boxes have latches to hold then in place when folded. It is a big step up form the portable jigs!

This Kreg Jig is great. I highly recommend it to anyone that has any intention/need to drill pocket holes. They are the name brand leader and this latest Kreg 720 Pocket Hole Jig pro shows why. Pros: - Versatile, flexible setup - Easy storage. The drill bit, driver bits, and depth gauge all store on the back of the jig. The extra side supports also open to store the other jig parts, and they fold up to take up less room if that's an issue. - Dust collection. The dust collection on this thing worked really well. I connected this to my Ridgid shop vac and dust stopper, and there was basically no sawdust remaining after drilling 2 pocket holes. If you're going to be doing a LOT of pocket holes, it's worth it to hook it up. Cons: - Really I have just one con, and that is that the jig has a lot of plastic components to it, so it isn't invincible. The main thing I felt could be liable to break is the clips for the drill/driver bits on the back of the jig. Otherwise, it all seemed pretty good. Detailed Review: The jig can be set up in various different ways. It can be attached to a table, clamped to a table, the sides fold out for extra support, or you can attach the extra support boxes. Regardless, it should be pretty easy to get a very sturdy setup when using the kreg jig. Setup was a breeze following the included instruction manual. This is my first Kreg product, and I'm pretty impressed with the thought that went into the design of the jig, from general use to storage, just about everything was thought of and covered in this product. The included dust collection port works fantastic. After drilling 2 pocket holes into a 2x4 for this review, there was barely any dust remaining when I opened the jig back up; really just miniscule specs left, and that's it. While I love the quick and easy storage/access to the drill bit and drivers, the one drawback I felt to the jig was that the plastic clips that hold these in place seemed a little flimsy and that they were liable to break. That said, you can also put the bits in the other storage bins that come with the jig, and the other important bits are much sturdier. Overall, I'm very impressed with this jig and highly recommend it.

If you need to or use a Kreg jig often, particularly if you are a professional, this is the jig for you. At the end of this review is an overview and Kreg K4 comparison video I made. I received this as an upgrade to the Kreg K4 jig and while the 720 does the same job, it does it faster, with more efficiency and cleaner. If you are not familiar with a Kreg jig, it helps you create pocket holes where you can joing wood, generally at 90 degree angles (see pictures). It is a must-have tool, unless you want to join wood with brackets or dowels. Either way, a Kreg jig like this is generally a great substitute for dowels and brackets. This jig is much larger than the K4 but more stable. You can flip out two wings to stabilize the jig when you have large boards in it. You can also attach the two storage bin supports for support. One bin can also have a adjuster put on it, so you can have consistency with where holes are being drilled if you are drilling identical pieces. In either case, the jig comes with a worktop clamp that can hold it down as well or you can secure it to your work surface with screws. My old K4 would sometimes wobble with larger wood pieces. The jig also automatically locks in your piece of wood, regardless of size as well. Unlike the K4, you dont have to adjust the wood clamp, with the 720P, you just insert the wood and press the clamp handle all the way down until it locks. Also, the depth collar is easier to set, the drill bit is pre-marked with common wood thicknesses, just secure it on the proper thickness mark. Finally, the 720P is cleaner, a shop vac attachment helps clean out all the shavings from the large pocket holes. It can fit hose sizes: 1-1/4", 1-7/8" and 2-1/2". The 720 pro kit comes with the jig, a worktop clamp, two storage/support bins, one drill bit, a hex/measuring tool, a 3" and 6" square drive bit, shop and vac adapter and two boxes of softwood screws (1-1/4" and 2-1/2"). The directions that come with it are good and full of information to help you. On one side of the jig is space to store the drill bit, square drive bits and hex tool. The storage bins can hold screws, hole fillers or other items you use with the jig. Of note, the jig is mostly plastic with metal where it matters. The plastic on the jig itself is high quality, the plastic on the storage/support bins is rather cheap and flimsy. This kit does not come with a storage case but the box is comes in can be used for storage. This jig is made in China.

The new Kreg 720 Pocket Hole Jig-PRO assembly takes the concept of pocket hole joinery to another level! The K4 system was good, but lacked quick automatic depth adjustments, swing out support wings, swift lock down pressure adjustments and usable side storage box supports with a repeatable board width guide! These additional features make for 50% faster pocket hole creations over the K4 and over 80% faster than my original 1991 Kreg pocket hole kit! If you have the space and need, it easily can become a permanent setup on your woodworking bench top for quick multiple joinery task. It 's build is very solid, however I do find the "five" dial pressure settings delicate, but accurate. I really like the ergonomics of this Jig-Pro (can be used vertically or horizontally) and plan to take full advantage of it's capabilities with all my future WW projects!!

This kit is by far the most comprehensive pocket hole jig setup that I’ve worked with. If you have any kind of production work to do, you should consider this kit. The spring loaded auto clamp feature makes this a breeze to get going with. The drill bit is indexed to let you know where to set the stop. The multi-function allen key makes figuring out and dialing in setup really easy and accurate. The docking station adds stability as well. A clamp is included to fasten the rig to your work surface or it has holes so that it can be screwed down. The jig can also be rotated 90 degrees if your project requires this. All of this makes producing and using pocket hole construction very simple. Pocket holes as a means of fastening make for simple and strong joints. I really like using pocket holes and this tool system makes it easy and simple to get great results. I recommend this Kreg 720 Pocket Hole Jig-PRO as a great way to use pocket holes in your designs. If you have used other pocket hole devices, you will really appreciate this upgrade.

The Kreg 720 Pocket Hole Jig-PRO came quickly and was not damaged. It was easy to unpack and assemble. The instructions that were included were very useful. The videos that they referred to made me instantly much more confident in using the jig. It has helped me to quickly and very accurately assemble 4 door jams, casing and molding. This is the first and now best pocket hole tool that already has me hooked on using this type of assembly.

This jig is a nice upgrade to some of the existing products out there. Specifically the clamping mechanism allows for secure, one handed operation. It also adjusts automatically to the material thickness. Really easy to set up and hold your stock in place. There are lots of extras included, from a handy clamp to lock the jig in place to 2 boxes of screws to extensions that help hold larger workpieces stable. Overall, this is a thoughtfully designed, easy to use, versatile tool. I'm already imagining lots of projects to take advantage of its capabilities!

I had reservations about trying out the Kreg pocket-hole jig after having seen so many info commercials saying how great it is. I am usually doubtful of the claims. Well I have to say it is a product that does work as well as they say. Setting up the jig was easy, the instructions are easy to follow. I plan on using the jig for a few projects using some teak that I have salvaged. I gave it a try with some scrap lumber and it worked perfectly. I will be going ahead with my other projects using the jig soon. The jig did come with screws for interior use, they also have stainless steel screws available which I will be ordering since my project will be exposed to the elements. A nice feature of this model is that all of the parts store neatly and securely and it folds up for easy storage.

I had the regular base model Kreg jig for the last 3 years. To be honest I bought it instead of the bigger kit for financial reasons. I use it for making multiple things and even loaned it to the neighbor when he made his farmhouse style dining table which made his life so much easier. My fiancé finally convinced me to get the Kreg 720 Pocket Hole Jig-PRO. I have to say I am not disappointed in the slightest. This thing is an amazing upgrade!! It has a place to hook up to the shop vac to keep the debris from building up in the holes. They also included an attachment to make it fit multiple size shop vacs. It has two storage bins that also make into a table that is flush with the jig to hold pieces of wood. They can be freestanding or attach securely onto the Kreg jig. There is also a smaller arm that can be used for thinner or smaller woods. The automatic clamp is amazing! It does not apply so much pressure that it would mar a soft wood but holds it securely. There is also an attachment to adjust the pressure if desired. They also include 100 1¼ inch screws and 60 2½inch screws to get you started. These also fit within the storage boxes. The handle to clamp the jig to the wood seems very sturdy and well made. I am not afraid to use it for fear of damaging it where my original one felt a little thin. It also comes with automatic stops so if you are doing multiple of the same pockets you only have to measure once which is a total time saver for me. This jig can be used freestanding or attached to a table top to be permanent so this makes it a bit more versatile in my opinion. There is onboard storage one the jig itself for the drill bit, allen wrench and square tip screwdriver bits. Everything can be hooked together to be one big unit to keep all the parts and pieces together so no more misplacing items. I could not be any happier with this set and look forward to all the projects I will be using it on.

As the owner of a few Kreg products, including the K3 pocket hole jig, I was excited to give this newly designed pocket hole jig a try. WOW. Just WOW! Kreg really put a lot of thought into this design. From the on board storage for the drill bit, Allen key adjuster and the long and short screw bits to the flip out material support wings and larger flip up support cases with additional storage room. The auto adjusting material clamp is great and has more then 2x the clamping surface of my old jig for a steadier workpiece. I also love the ability to clamp this jig for either vertical or horizontal workpiece drilling which is great when putting holes in full sheets of plywood. The new markings and large viewing hole in the depth collet make switching to different thickness materials even faster. This has to be the absolute best pocket hole jig I’ve used and even seen. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

everything you need to start making some small projects. the thing i like most about this kit and kreg products overall is that they have very thoroughly thought of everything. if you know the thickness of your building materials, then you can look up what length screw and set up the drill bit and be on your way. the one lever auto adjusting clamp mechanism is clever and very smooth to operate. everything stores in its own compartment on the jig itself. the material support wings provide even more storage and also fold up and lock in place for storage. another positive is the drill bit. easily the sharpest factory drill bit i have ever used. my only complaint is the amount of plastic used to make nearly every on the jig. every wear surface is metal and the jig is metal reinforced, but it could benefit from a more premium build incorporating some extra heft and rigidity. regardless though this jig is very easy to set up and gets you building things very quickly. all the materials included have online instructions and scannable QR codes. very user friendly.

With the Kreg 720 Pro kit, I’m beyond impressed! I’ve owned the R3 jig for a few years and it has performed well. But this 720 system takes the accuracy of the standard Kreg jig and makes it so much easier to use. There’s a tool to measure your wood thickness and them adjust the bit collar with no guesswork. The enclosed clamp holds the jig securely to bench or work table, or it can be permanently mounted to your bench. There’s no more C-clamp to hold your stock in place - just place the wood in the jig and press a single lever to lock it in place. It can be used either horizontally or vertically. There are fold out wings to stabilize it, or you can use the separate, included docking station that features storage capability for some accessories. The docking system also features an adjustable stop to make repetitive drilling of identical holes a piece of cake. There is also an adapter that attaches to your shop vac hose to keep the area free of wood chips. I recently built around 50 cabinet doors and drawer fronts and this would have saved me many hours if had this outfit at the time. If you use a pocket hole jig occasionally for just a couple joints, then one of the more stripped-down models will due. However, if you are looking a large project or use a jig more than occasionally, you should take a serious look at this setup. Item made in China.

I am biased towards Kreg because I own several of their woodworking products and always have thought of them as top notch. That includes a basic pocket jig which I have used for years. However, this jig feels kind of “cheap”- the storage bins will not last, and while the auto-clamping mechanism is easy to use, it doesn’t feel robust. This will probably be fine for light DIY use- but if you regularly do pocket screw type joinery, this probably isn’t the product for you. Overall, I’m a little disappointed in Kreg; this isn’t the quality from them that I am used to.

For those interested in country of origin, this product was MADE IN THE USA. Assembly of the unit was simple, can be broken down for storage into the shipping box it came in. Instructions are easy to follow for first-time users, and the joining of test blocks was easy and a strong joining. Would have liked to see a guide as to screw lengths required to join same or different size woods, but no big deal. Hole depth is measured using the supplied tool. Worked fine. Comes with connections to vacuum to suck up sawdust. Used without table vise, using also both wings on base extended for stability as well as the length supports. Stable throughout. Comes with two lengths of screw drivers. Made a square box of scrap lumber in 15 minutes as a test. Very satisfied with the product.
