Beautiful, stylish, smartand so efficient! The LG Washtower does everything a washer and dryer could do and more. I’ve had this almost a month and do laundry almost every day. I use the sanitize feature for all of my work scrubs and towels and I love that it accurately senses the loads I place I am quick to admit that I’m lazy so I freshen up my clothes in the morning on the “wrinkle care” option so no need to iron. By far the biggest and most important aspect of this set is the capacity, which as seen in one of my attached photos, fits a plush king size comforter with no problem. No more need to bring my comforters to the laundrymat anymore. The smart features leave me no excuses to forget to switch or fold the laundry, as the app detects when the cycle is finished and sends me an alert to my phone. You can also start the cycle from your phone if you forget.

Washer/Dryer combo received on 11/5/2020 and installed on 11/7/2020 I was surprised when my new laundry center arrived. I was expecting 2 boxes. It came in one box measuring around 6 feet tall and weighing 320 pounds. It was delivered to our cabin and we transported it to our main home to be installed. It was quite difficult moving it from the back of the pickup truck into the utility room of our home. Installation was simple. After reading through the owner’s manual, I started doing laundry. I have been pleased with the low amount of noise produced by both the washer and the dryer. It does a good job of cleaning and drying. There is also a pleasant time at the end of the laundry cycle. I had a stacked washer and dryer for over 12yrs. No comparison. Highly recommend this Washer/Dryer combo.

After using various side by side units for years, some low-end and some high-end. Back in college, I got to use a few different stacking units, most of which did a pretty poor job in washing, and even poorer job drying. Based on all this experience, I had it in my mind that a stacked washer/dryer unit was on the low-end of laundry technology. But that simply isn't the case. The LG Washtower has challenged my conceptions of what goes into a laundry room and has completely broken the rules on what a stacking washer/dryer unit is capable of doing. To start, this isn't your normal stacking unit. Both washer and dryer are front loading units, which means you'll never be challenged to cram a comforter into the washing machine of stacked unit. The Washtower is two high end units stuck together and they did not compromise on much! The design is incredibly sleek: from the smooth and flat doors, to the crisp white finish to the intuitive control panel. Taking up the floor space of a single machine, the Washtower is a true 2-in-1 unit. Next, the washing machine. I've run all sorts of loads through the Washtower, and I am impressed. The settings on the control panel are easy to use and adjust to however you need to wash (more on that in a minute). The washer handles large loads and small loads with efficiency. After doing a load of fleece baby pajamas, I picked up an item and thought, "Wow this feels SOFT and CLEAN." These pajamas had gone through endless cycles in my previous washer and dryer and I felt that the Washtower was just more efficient and effective. One of my favorite features is that it doesn't set a wash time. Confused? What I mean is that it senses what's in the washer (perhaps by weight), and sets an appropriate time for the wash cycle. This means that if I throw in a single t-shirt, the washer will set a short time of 20 to 30 minutes, but if I toss in a huge load of towels, it will come up with something close to an hour. As for the dryer, it might not be as good as the washer, but it still is incredibly effective. Maybe my old dryer was just ineffective, but the Washtower's dryer unit is able to dry a full load of clothing in less time... and the clothes come out just the same temperature. The engineers at LG clearly put a lot of thought into the shape and design of the dryer's drum, as it is clearly working well! The only thing I wish the dryer had was the opportunity to set exact dry times. It has an increment of 10 minutes only. My old dryer gave the ability to set a time to a single minute, so that feature will be missed. Finally: the app. My old dryer didn't have an app. When I first got the Washtower, I thought, "Great, ANOTHER app." But I've changed my mind. The app is easy to use, easy to set up and VERY straightforward. Plus it pairs up with other LG appliances I own so its not just cluttering up my phone. The app makes a great washing machine even better, and a good dryer into something great. On the control panel, there are roughly six washing settings (they each have some customization). In the app, the washer as 26 settings! There are cycles for all sorts of fabric care, from denim to dress, permanent press to just a spin cycle. This really opens up the washing machine to do a fabulous job. As for the dryer, the app contains 27 different cycle options, from blanket refresh to ultra delicates. While there still is not exact dry time option, the range of cycles makes up the different. On top of this, the app notifies me when the wash or dryer is done... so if I'm outside I can still know when something is finished and not forget about a load of wet clothes all day! This machine is highly recommended. If you can configure your laundry room to work with something like this, I would do it! One final thought: this unit is exceptionally heavy. This is good for the end user as it won't shake its way across your laundry room... but it also makes it difficult to install, you may need three people!

Half the footprint for a large capacity washer and dryer.  Best idea in washers/dryers in decades...
Half the footprint for a large capacity washer and dryer.  Best idea in washers/dryers in decades!  What really sets this pair apart is they only require the floor space of a typical washing machine, so a great choice where space is limited or an opportunity to use that 'other' space where the dryer used to be more effectively.   I have seen small capacity stacked laundry units for apartments and extended stay hotels, but these LG units are large capacity (4.5 cu ft washer and 7.4 cu ft dryer), so full family size.  The problem with stacking traditional units is the controls are on top, so if you put the dryer over the washer, you can't easily reach the controls.  LG solved this by putting a combined, central control panel between the two units where it is convenient to reach.  The WashTower comes as one integrated unit, not two separate units.  When considering a washer/dryer there are three things I want to know:  Do they do a great job cleaning clothes, are they quiet and unobtrusive in the home, and are they relatively easy to use.  We give the WashTower high marks in all three areas.  Both washer and dryer offer a multitude of options to customize your laundry.  First, you get five default settings (normal, bedding, delicates, heavy duty and speed/small) and then you can customize the temperature, spin and soil.  There is a steam option as well.  We ran a load of whites in the WashTower using the default "normal" setting and compared them to the exact same garments washed in our previous machine and the LG got them noticeably whiter (see photo).  We were pleasantly blown away by this as it was completely unexpected.  Customize till your heart is content and be assured that this thing does a great job on just "normal."  The control panel is relatively straight forward and intuitive, we were able to start doing laundry without the need of the owner's manual.  This unit is amazingly quiet compared to our old front loader which shook the house and rattled the dishes during the spin.  This unit still has a some vibration but is quite subdued. The drier makes a subtle hum that does not keep us up after bedtime.   Some cool things about this unit.  It weighs the load and checks the humidity levels and then automatically adjusts the machine settings to match.  This helps save water and electricity and reduce vibration.  We also love the super bright LED drum lights and the little ditty it plays at cycle end.  The two drums rotate in opposite directions to cancel out vibrations when both units are operated at the same time.  As a combined unit, it is heavy (~350lbs), so you will need professional appliance installers with the right equipment to get this positioned, leveled and hooked up. ( As a note, the units can be separated if needed for installation and then reassembled together.  They can not be operated as separate units)  We have only been using the WashTower for a couple of weeks so I can't speak to long term reliability or dependability, but LG makes good stuff and it is covered by a one-year warranty.  If you are looking for a nice upgrade to your laundry area, the WashTower is a brilliant option that frees up space you can use better.  The units are internet enabled using the LG ThinQ (ThinQ = think) app.  I was initially dubious about this feature, and after using the app for a bunch of loads I am still dubious of the value, it is the only low point of what is otherwise a truly excellent product.  Getting the appliance to connect to the internet and my iPhone was frustrating.  We never found the QR codes to help automate this process (perhaps on the packing case the installers hauled away for us?) so trying to figure out the model number and serial number was trial and error (the app wants a model number and serial number which are called "product code"  and  "Factory ID" on the appliance tag.  In the list of appliance types in the app WashTowers are not listed, you have to find this under washing machines.  Also note, the wifi password is the last four digits of the  unit's wifi name typed twice (e.g., cp41cp41).  Like I said ... frustrating).  I was hoping the "Remote Start" function would allow me to  start the washing machine at a specific time, say at 4:30, so the wash is done when I get home from work at 5:30.  It allows you to remotely start the machine, but you have to take the action yourself and you have to remember to set it up for remote start before you leave.  In addition to the cycle options on the machine itself, the app offers even more ways to customize your laundry with pre-programmed "Cloud Cycles".  There are a dozen or more Cloud Cycles each for the washer and dryer (allergens, denim, cuffs and collars, blanket, &ect).  Here is the process to use the Cloud Cycles:  load the machine, add detergent or dryer sheet, close door, turn on power, get your phone, open the LG ThinQ app, select the appliance, click on "Normal", scroll down till you find the Cloud Cycle you want, send it to the appliance, push the start button on the appliance.  What a pain.  Why can't I just select the Cloud Cycle from the control panel?  It is internet enabled.  Can't it just fetch the options from the internet when selected from the machine without having to mess around with an app?  New Cloud Cycles could be pushed to the machine when LG creates new ones..Just to make the app experience even less satisfying, it is slow to start up and tends to (on iOS 14) crash a lot.  I suspect 90% of our loads will be "normal" and the other 10% "delicates" and the App and Cloud Cycles rarely if ever used. What we love:  space saving design, quiet unobtrusive operation, outstanding clothes cleaning, drum lights, many on-board options to customize your cleaning if desired. What we wish were different:  ThinQ App

LG Electronics 27 in. Black Steel Wash Tower Laundry Center with 4.5 cu. ft. Front Load Washer and 7.4 cu. ft. Electric Dryer replaced my stand alone washer and dryer. The sleek design of this tower was just perfect for my small laundry space. It provided more space than ever. The quietness of both the washer and dryer is just what I needed since I have saloon doors for my laundry room.

This is a excellent LG washer and dryer combo! I installed it myself because my previous washer and dryer were separate units and I had a lot of shelving to take down prior the the HD delivery. I'm now excited because of all the room I'll be able to create a functioning laundry room. This LG unit comes with a lot of different features to make doing laundry less of a tasks with Ai technology sensors that can detect different fabric textures and load size. Then decided the settings for different loads of laundry automatically with smart pairing the washer tells the dryer the best cycle. It has a Turbo Wash for handling extra large loads easily and a Turbo Steam to disinfectant toys, pillows and a smart tumble to keep your clothes wrinkle free for up to 3 hours if you can't unload after a cycle is completed. LG unit kill 95% of allergens witch is excellent of getting rid of pet dandruff and hair/fur. The ThinQ app keeps you updated on wash times and start and stop availability. Save energy and water with the smart sensors and stainless steel tumblers that stay clean and disinfect with every wash/drying cycle... This is truly a all around beautiful appliance and I am in love with everything it has to offer. Excellent price, 10 year warranty and I would easily recommend this to anyone for a smart investment for your home.

Beautiful stacker from LG, like a modern art piece. What a space saver this beauty is, the stack feature has great height for most anyone to use, its also easy to transfer wet laundry up to the dryer. It is a solid unit that does not look or feel cheap how some older stackers can. The single panel makes this unit much more modern and easy to use. The panel is very responsive, easy to read and understand, and just looks amazing. This is the most advanced washer and dryer sets I have ever used. The wash and dry are very quiet cycles, much quieter than past machines I have used. The LG ThinQ app can be connected and can be used to control some not all of the features on the unit. The app can alert you when your wash or dry is complete. Overall this is just beautiful to look at, to bad it has to sit in my basement.

The future is here, and it’s doing my laundry! This sleek, elegant super combo is the home appliance I never knew I needed. I’ve never had such an advanced home appliance and I feel absolutely spoiled using it. I love that it is a stacked washer dryer combo. Unlike other combo units which need to be assembled via a stacking kit, this is a singular, pre-assembled unit. Saved the installation crew some time and they were complimentary about how easy it was. You don’t realize how much space you save with this stacked setup until it is actually in your house/laundry room. I can now DIY a small mudroom in my laundry room just from the space I’ve saved, and it’s a small laundry room. Don’t think I’m ever going back to separate units. The front panel is a singular piece of sleek backlit acrylic that lights up individual buttons and settings when pressed. All lights turn off when not in use. The see through door panels are tempered glass, and overall the doors are a thinner profile than other units I’ve had. The overall modern aesthetic is very pleasing. Functionality-wise, the first thing you notice outside of the lit up control panel and it’s pleasing beep tones, is the sound the washer makes when running. Or rather, lack of sound. This is seriously the quietest washer motor I’ve ever heard. At full RPM on “high” spin speed, I can talk in a whisper to my wife and she can hear me in the laundry room. I think this is due to the quieter DC motor(washer motors are typically AC) and the way they’ve sound isolated it. It’s incredibly quiet. The drums in this are even lit so you can see inside. The wash and dry cycles do fantastically and the dryer comes with a steam feature like some more modern dryers. The individual settings for certain types of laundry(bedding, delicates, etc) are awesome and seem to use the perfect amount of energy for the job. I was worried about the dryer height since my wife is shorter than I, but it’s perfect (little over 4 feet)so she can pull clothes out with ease and not have to use a step stool. The wifi connectivity feature is pretty cool and lets you control most functionality as long as you turn the wifi button on, on the control panel. (Safety feature) it even has an energy monitor function, and while it doesn’t report energy consumption in terms of kilowatt hours, it does give you a general idea of how how much it used for the last cycle, and more, building an energy usage graph over time. All in all this thing is a dream to use and I’m loving this futuristic LG washer so far.

It's a good machine I recommend it
It's a great combo does a great job works well the only down part is the actual manufacture craftsmanship as they rust and in some case cause problems with access to utilities of the washer but I will not blame that on the machine as it continues to work I will just blame it on LG for their lack of foresight

    Reliable, quiet, flexible, sleek
We love the machine. The second one we've bought. Support is great. It has dowloadable cycles but they don't always show up in the App. The ap is good but not very intuitive. I learned recently that the cycles with asterisks by them I have to hold for 3 to 5 seconds to activate them eg the Tub Clean cycle. It has some diagnostic error that doesn't prevent it from working but there is no way to reset it?

4th delivery attempt gave us a usable and undented unit. Laundry is clean. Not as many options as my old washer and dryer, and about 10 times more noisy.

I returned this machine, as the dryer would go 5 minutes, not heat, and quit. I replaced it with side by side LG washer/dryer which work fine.

Despite install area fulfilling all of Home Depot’s requirements for distance to electrical, the delivery people brought a power cord that was too short. Therefore did not install and left a more than 300 lb appliance for me to try to move.
