I have had mine for a couple of years and after a bit of practice don't know how I ever managed without it. I either blow or rake (using a second, larger rake) the leaves into piles. The LeafMate is mostly used only for lifting for lifting the leaves into containers,cans etc. and the last bit of residue. Buy two, one for normal use, and one for backup. The single best garden tool ever!

It was strange. the screw did not match up with any hole in the pole. then the screw kept the second part from going the way down. I think you have to see it to tell what I am talking about. I returned it to the store.

Didn’t think this would work that great but I LOVE IT! I use it after I blow all the leaves into piles and then I can easily pick up and put in yard waste container. Saves so much time!

It was too heavy and cumbersome to use. Plus you have to tilt it down a lot to scoop up the leaves. The info commercial is very deceiving. I returned it.

I was excited about a way to easily pick up leaves with this tool. However, it simply did not work for me. The two pieces are spaced so far apart that it picks up few leaves. I went to the company website to get help and the video did not work. I called their 800 number several times and no answer. Do not waste your time on this item.

Once it was put together it would slide up and down ok but it would close before you could pick up anything. Would need to stay open to gather the material before closing. Would need to be modified so the pick up slide would be open to gather the material you want to pick up.

Hands down....you will NOT find a better rake/pickup system than LEAFMATE, guaranteed...I have a large property with lots of maples, oak, willows and bass wood....when fall arrives, I am literally buried in leaves and it's a HUGE undertaking clearing the leaves off my grounds...I use a large tarp ( 6' X 8' )...clear an area to spread open the tarp...a word on the tarp, the tarp has steel grommets installed all around, I used a few lengths of strong braded nylon rope, about 3' 6" long and tied them to one side of the tarp; one at the back, one in the middle and one at the front....Once the tarp is open, I rake the leaves in piles just using the rake part only....when I'm ready to start picking up the leaves, slide the "picker" on, and proceed to pick LARGE rakefuls of leaves, and drop them on the tarp...when full, tie the tarp closed and drag it over to my dumping site....it used to take me a lot of work with regular rakes to deal with this HUGE amount of leaves, and all the bending involved....This LEAF MATE makes it 50% easier to pick and dispose and can move huge amounts of leaves using my overall system....I HIGHLY recommend this rake to anyone that wants to reduce the amount of labour and back breaking work of clearing a ton of fall leaves from their yard, you won't be disappointed....a slight learning curve, once you get used to it, you'll thank me for it!....GET ONE!!!!

easy assembly and use.

The rake was ok to use, the hard part was using the leaf grabber. The leaf grabber didn't pick up as much as i expected and this does not pick up small sticks or branches. I ended up separating the 2 pieces and using the leaf grabber as shovel scoop. First I would rake the leaves into a pile and then with the leaf grabber I would shove under the pile and rake the leaves over it squeezing the 2 together to grab a bigger amount. I was hoping this rake would make things easier for me but in the end I wouldn't purchase this item again or recomend to a friend or family member. It didn't meet my expectations.

Was not as easy to use as I thought it would be. I have had it for about 2 months now. It did not meet my expectations. Could have used two rakes , which would have worked better.

This rake is huge. Design would be better if bottom part were solid to stop dirt and small stuff from falling out. Took it back. Did not suit my needs.

This is a great idea. Works well with my mulcher. I dump leaves right in chute.

Many years ago I ordered the original LeafMate Rake and Pick-Up System and loved it. It lasted a few years after much use and finally broke. A week ago I got the new and improved version you see here. It is lighter and stronger than the original. Again, raking up the leaves is almost enjoyable again! There is a learning curve to using this system. Just use the rake (green) itself and when you have your pile of leaves, slip on the black pick-up attachment, lift the black, pull the leaves toward you and slowly release the black pickup and it compresses (pinches) the leaves. Lift up and drop the leaves in the bag. Use the LeafMate open bottom cylinder to put your bag into which adds to the ease of bagging the leaves (separate purchase) available at H.D. Be patient and learn how to use it. No more bending down and finish raking 5 times faster. In my mind I've already won $1000 prize in the time and ease of use this has done for me. No more bending down back pains. Invest in this and you will enjoy your yard cleanup! Again be patient. Learn how to use it and watch your neighbors gaze at how quickly you finish!

It makes it so much easier to rake the yard and pick up the debris! No more sore back for me!! :-) It shipped promptly and arrived undamaged. Yay! I'm very happy with my new rake!

Like the rake for leaves and grass cuttings. Haven't figured out the picking up part yet.

Not at all user friendly. Not helpful to people with bad backs!

It looks like it would make raking easily, but the way the holder attaches to the rake handle makes it the opposite. Since the holder is on the same angle as the rake, it doesn't allow much pick up. It compares to a couple of spoons that fit inside each other. It should be more like opposite spoons that would work like a claw. Since I have back problems, it exacerbated them. The quality didn't seem too good either. 3-4 tines of the rake broke off the 2nd time I used it.

It does not pick up much and the rake is useless. Don't waste your money on this like I did.

No instructions on how to use it. Found a U-Tube video Its takes some getting use to, still working on that. Had one of the End tines bend out of shape easily. As a simple leaf rake it does a fair job.

This product sure makes picking up leaves a breeze. No bending required. Would recommend this product to anyone with bending issues. Like the fact that it come apart to use it as a regular rake.

This product is only good for smaller jobs. I got frustrated trying to use it and ended up taking it apart to scoop up the humongous amount of leave that I must rake up every year. Certainly not what I expected.

I have difficulty getting the leaves between the rake and the scoop. It picks up some, but not as many as I would like. I sometimes use the two pieces separately like a dust pan to rake the leaves onto the scoop.

Finally an improvement I find useful. My only complaint is that it should be stocked in my local Home Depot.

This rake picks up massive amounts of leaves. No bending and stooping. It is almost fun picking up leaves with this rake. Well, at least it is not as much of a chore.

I spotted this on line along with the super funnell and took a shot. Both seem to be well build, and work as described. It for sure speeds up the nasty job of moving leaves around and disposing of them.I'm all for anything that makes this yearly duty easier and faster, and the pair of Leafmates do the trick. Buy both and do yourself a favor..

I have a bad back so when I saw a neighbor picking up his leaves and not bending while doing this I had to find out what he was using. It was a Leaf Mate rake. I have one now and what a great rake. It is absolutely the best lawn and garden tool I have ever purchased.

It was a little awkward to use at first so I went to the manufacturers website and was happy to see an instructional video. Once I got the hang of it, it was a breeze. Maybe fun even. It did make the raking of the leaves much, much easier.

This rake is a MUST for anyone with a a lot of trees in their yard. It is light weight and picks up large piles of leaves without a lot of hassle. It comes highly recommended by this purchaser!
