Waste of money.
Very disappointed with this purchase. Great concept. Was hoping for old dustbuster brand quality and performance. Not even close. Barely picks up lint and hair with a full charge and fresh filter. Not at all useful for a vehicle quick touch up. I would not buy again. Too bad as the packout m18 was amazing.

I have had this vacuum for over 4 years and still works well. It doesn't have great suction power but works good for dust, small, and light debris.

I have lots of Milwaukee tools. All are superior to all the other brands. The other tradesmen I work around are envious of me. Some are starting to switch over when they need to replace something.

Built well with VERY poor suction
This is built really well, as I expected it to be. The suction level is not good. You will struggle to pick up most debris; even loose dirt must be gone over many times. After a few months the flapper that should keep stuff in the bin has gotten lazy and if you tip the vacuum just right stuff is spilling out. Bottom line, the terrible suction level makes the vacuum not worth buying, I should have trusted the poor reviews. Not worthy of the Milwaukee name.

This is a good tool for quick pickup. It cleaned up all the dust and cobwebs in my shop in just a couple minutes without the need to drag out the shop vac. It was easy to use when vacuuming the stairs from the garage and getting into the corners. The extension is just the right length for vacuuming floors and steps. I have several small shop vacs that I have used, but this beats them for general cleanup. As others have noted, the paper filter does a great job of keeping dust from the exhaust but plugs up quickly. At first I tried brushing it off with a small "acid brush", which did work well but took some time. Then I found a quick and cheap fix in the form of a 6 inch long sheet of paper towel and a rubber band. I wrapped the towel around the filter, then put a rubber band around it to hold it in place. It didn't appreciably effect the suction but did a nice job of stopping the dust. The dust falls off of it without much effort and it can be replaced in seconds. Like all Milwaukee M12 tools, the vacuum is compact and has more than enough power for what it is designed for, which is quick cleanup of dust and dirt in tight spaces. I do recommend this vacuum.

I saw the advent of the dust buster and this is soooo much better but it is what it is, do not expect it to be a shop vac. It's great for cleaning up around the kitchen, shop, garage. enjoy!!! By the way My wife loves it !!!!!

This tool is light weight so my wife can use it to. The batteries are small enough to carry an extra in a pocket or tool belt and buttery life is far greater than expected. Plenty of power but if you are cutting 2 x 4 or nails the battery life is reduced. If you are doing this a lot you may want a corded saw but I love this tool.

Like other reviewers, I'm a huge Milwaukee fan. I could not BELIEVE how weak the suction was on this handheld vacuum. It would not even vacuum up a VERY small pebble off of my truck mat. Entryway mat in the garage --- forget about it. Not even close. Even the 4-star reviews complain about the suction power. This average 3.8 review is very deceiving. I didn't even bother researching the reviews until after I bought this unit. It will go back to Home Depot immediately and shame on Milwaukee for even selling this piece of crap.

If you want a tough tool with GREAT battery life, any of the Milwaukee battery tools will get the job done! I have 41 mechanics working on Diesel Trucks (class 8) and these tools are as tough and the MACK trucks we sell and service! ALL 41 mechanics have a battery tool from Milwaukee most of them are m-12 or m-18. Well worth the money simply due to battery life, no swapping these batteries all day they can handle it working on the roughest equipment in the world, they can handle yours too! Great job guys!

M12 non-Fuel version Hackzall I'm not a professional tradesman so my needs for this type of tool is for general convenience cutting and uses in confined spaces like cutting off rusted bolts and brackets under a vehicle. I have a Dewalt corded reciprocating saw that given the availability of power and space is certainly the go-to tool for any serious cutting. I wavered for a few months on whether or not to get this version or the "Fuel" version. From reading all the reviews on both it is apparent that the "Fuel" version is considerable more powerful, however it's slightly bigger and is twice price of this version. Since my primary need for this tool is so as to get into confined spaces I decided to trade-off power for the smaller size, not to mention getting this non-fuel version is about half the price. My initial test was cutting through 1/2" steel all-thread rod. I figured if this tool will cut through that it would likely serve all my purposes. Using a Milwaukee 18TPI blade it took 75 seconds to cut through the rod. In comparison; using a new 18TPI blade, my Dewalt took 13 seconds to cut through the same rod. Obviously I knew the Dewalt would be faster, however I didn't think the variance would be that much. What is important to me though isn't the spend in which the cut was made but rather that the cut could actually be made. Since I will likely never need to cut anything harder than 1/2" threaded rod with this tool, this tool meets my needs so there's no need to spend the extra money on the Fuel version or give up any size. All that being said; if I was a tradesman who needed a tool like this on a regular basis, I think I'd likely go with the Fuel version simple due to better performance.

This is a great compact vacuum for cleaning up those small messes that happen from time to time. And it's also great for dog hair and reaching those pesky spider webs around your house. However, just so you know, this vacuum is not going to replace your full-size shop-vac, that's just not it's intended usage. As long as you understand that, you should be completely satisfied with this vacuum.

Fantastic addition to the 12v lineup
I also own the Milwaukee 18v cordless shop vac which is amazing so when this came out i purchased it immediately. I use it on my tool bench to clean up after small jobs. In the cars, on the job for small repairs. it will suck up drywall dust no problem and wire stripping. the attachments it comes with are very useful especially the long reach extension. its go go weight but not too heavy. Just enough weight to know there is a good size motor in it.. the charge indicator is nice. use it with 4.0xc batteries and you will be amazed. i only wish they sold replacement filters in my HD store loaction

excellent addition for house or shop
This is a wonderful, light weight, vac that is great for use around the house, in the shop, or on the job site. It uses M12 batteries (not included) and comes with three attachments (an extension tube, crevice nozzle, and wide nozzle). It's bagless and has uses a filter similar to a shop vac (see photo). Cleaning out the collection compartment is easy, just pull the slide back and twist the canister. Suction is not the greatest, but for small jobs it works wonderfully. I imagine the M18 version would have stronger suction, but if you're looking for an amazing vacuum, you should be looking for a dedicated vacuum. This is yet another tool to have in the shop that works great. My wife is grabbing this all the time to clean up small messes, and it now has a permanent home in our coat closet instead of in the basement with the rest of the tools. Because it uses the M12 batteries I can easily keep one charged and swap it out from drill to saw to vacuum. Couldn't be happier with this.

                    Quick Cleanup
This vacuum is a great addition to the M12 line. It's the perfect size to grab and go when you don't want to lug around a full-size shopvac. I just added an adjustable shelf to my MDF media console, and it worked great for cleaning up all the debris after drilling the four 1/4" holes. It was really convenient, since MDF makes a ton of dust, and I didn't want to move the whole console out of the living room to work on it. As far as run time goes, it seems to go longer than the 29 minutes Milwaukee advertises. Using the 1.5 Ah compact battery, it managed to run for a constant 14 minutes and 23 seconds. And I wasn't just running it empty - I filled up the cannister 3 times during that period! That means you might be able to coax close to 40 minutes of run time from the 4 Ah XC batteries. The trigger and lock on mechanism are intuitive and easy to use. When you want to turn it off, just pull the trigger again and it will unlock. Installing and uninstalling the extension wand, crevice tool, and wide nozzle is easy as well, since they're just friction fit. Suction is pretty decent, but not a wow factor. It will get the job done with just about anything that will fit up through the 1-1/4" nozzle though. The main applications I see here are cleaning up drywall dust, sawdust, and maybe pet hair. Emptying the vacuum is a little trickier, since everything tends to cling to the filter. Just opening it up without fixing this ends up in a huge mess everywhere. I found that giving the tool a few sharp whacks against something solid dislodges most of the debris from the filter. I also discovered that the intake nozzle could occasionally get clogged when sucking up bigger debris, since there's a thin rubber gasket that flexes open and closed when the vacuum is running. If a chunk of something gets stuck there, it will let smaller debris fall back out of the nozzle. The vacuum is also a bit on the loud side. If I'm doing anything that requires vacuuming for more than a few seconds, I go searching for my hearing protection. Overall, this is a great vacuum that will really help keep project sites cleaner. Run time is good and suction is decent. The only downsides are the loudness and the occasional clog with pieces of debris up near the 1-1/4" capacity.
