Oatey Johni ring is a MUST if you are setting an new toilet or resetting an existing toilet. Oatey wax ring has been the standard that most plumber use since this is not a job you want to have an issue with later and you want it done right the first time. You can placed the ring on the bottom of the toilet on top of the floor flange. NOTE: if the flange is below the floor level use an adapter, better than using two rings, but you may need to use two seal and it will work but you need to make sure everything is lined up straight when setting the toilet. When the toilet is positioned on top of the flange the weight of the toilet will compresses the wax into the exact shape of the flange this will form a perfect seal.

I recently had to replace one of the toilets in my home as it was leaking and low in height. I used this Johni-ring to make sure there were not going to be any leaks. After installing the ring and securing the toilet, no leaks were detected. It is a simple product that does a great job of sealing the bottom of the toilet. Always make sure the wax ring is centered properly for a perfect fit and a no leak toilet.

This Oatey 4" toilet flange wax ring fit perfectly and sealed my leaky toilet flange. The wax ring was easy to remove from its plastic mold both to check its thickness and to install on the toilet flange. I liked that it is a very sticky wax and sticks and stays stuck to the flange to aid installation. No leaks so the installation was a total success. Recommended.

Lets see if I can avoid all the obvious puns.. While on appearance there is minimal different between wall or floor mount, there is some. Worth paying attention. Also do not store this in your shop, work truck, or shed, unless you have it positioned flat wax side up. There is a reason why it comes in a plastic holder. Wax MELTS if it gets too warm! So that being said, it's still perhaps the best and easiest to get a good seal at the base. You don't want to know what happens if you don't and it happens slowly over time. So please, save a headache and health issue and use this correctly according to directions.

So, this little wax ring is a purchase you make only a couple of times in a lifetime, if that. I can say from various bathroom remodels throughout the years, Oates has some of the best go to plumbing products. I've never had a problem with a toilet leaking using these Oatey wax rings. It's a classic. Make sure you select the correct size and type of toilet for your application. This one is a wall exit toilet, not quite as common as the floor type in residential applications. Floor types a little thicker. As long as you buy the correct size for your toilet and follow the directions, you can't go wrong!

I just got this Johni-ring plus wax gasket for back outlet toilets and it’s specially designed for this type of toilet discharge only not matter if it’s wall hung or floor mounted, for the regular floor discharge there is more variety of sealings . Fits perfectly on 4in. diameter cast iron, copper, plastic sewer pipes. This wax ring is specially designed with a felt core that makes it a no leak golden wax ring. Comes in a plastic container that helps to keep your hands wax free and clean and easy to install and take off after installation. It will last for many years without a leak if proper installation is made.

The Oatey Johni-Ring 4 inch Standard Toilet Wax Ring is, well, a wax ring. Mine came well-packaged. I am putting new Pergo floors in two bathrooms at our cottage and because the floor will be raised, I'm going to use this wax ring as an addition to a reinforced ring with a plastic horn just to ensure that there is an adequate seal. Oatey is a good product name in regard to bathroom plumbing equipment.

So, I got this wax ring through the Home Depot Seeds program and the description says Oatey Johni-Ring 4" Standard Toilet Wax Ring, but the ring I got specifically says it is for a rear discharge toilet. I am not sure how much different the two wax rings may be, but I wouldn't call this a standard ring. I have had good luck with Oatey products in the past!

Toilet wax rings have been in use for a long time, even though newer design rubber toilet seals are now available. I have used both rubber stick on and wax rings. With that being said, I still prefer the tried-and-true wax ring that can last upwards of 30 years or more. This Johni-Ring plus Wax Gasket is specifically made for a back outlet wall mount toilet. I have found the new design rubber toilet seals wont stick to the porcelain and stay in place while setting the toilet as well as these wax rings do. This particular ring is made in the U.S.A. by an Oatey affiliate.

OATEY Johni -Ring 4 in. Standard Toilet Wax Ring. This is a 100% pure petroleum wax gasket for setting a closet bowl. This product works well for sealing new or re-used toilet install or re-install. We replaced a couple of toilets at Church and this seal worked really well and we expect no leakage. One thing about wax seals, you install and forget as they do their job as intended.

Listen folks, JEN gave this a ONE STAR review stating "insufficient material, squishes out". Yea, of course, that's how a wax ring makes a seal on your toilet flange. I've been a plumber for over 30 years and again, normal wax ring here folks. If your tile is high you may need to stack two of them. If all the wax 'squishes out' that means your floor flange is too high. Ideally the flange should be flush, or just below the finished floor.
