It was easy to install and it was a perfect fit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used Oatey QUADTRO washing machine outlet boxes to our home.Water pressure shock arrestors required for installation on supply lines to quick closing valves. Installation of both red and blue valves on the box is an easy task to do. The valves are not preinstalled. I just followed the instruction guide provided which made my installation job easy. We need to turn the valve in clockwise until it locks in to the tabs to land it softly in to the box. The threaded hose Bibb outlet should face front of the box. This is one of the most complete kits I have used. The plastic moldings are very sturdy with lots of fastening points. I find the knobs for on and off on the hot/cold has good grip to turn them. Snap-on Faceplate Frame accommodates up to 1" drywall. Box is of very good quality.4 support brackets included for mounting. Overall we have very pleasant experience installing it and totally impressed with performance of the outlet box.

This is very awesome Its a Copper Sweat Connection to hook up your washing and dryer. It has a 1/4 Brass Ball Valve Very easy to install. If your gonna replace your Washer and Dryer outlet hook up his is a must.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using this washing machine outlet box, I’m very pleased. The first thing I like about this box was how easy it was to install into my space. It fit perfectly into the drywall. Another thing I love about this box is how I’m able to place my drain pipe at the left, right, or center. This is super convenient and allows me to configure my plumbing to my individual preferences. Another noteworthy feature about this washing machine outlet box is how easy it was to mount my water supply valves. The box has brackets to support top or bottom-mounted water supply valves. This leads me to the next thing I love about this washer outlet box: how stable it is. After mounting my water supply valves, I have not had any problems with the valves moving around or becoming loose. This outlet box keeps all of my pluming fastened and secured. The box is also very durable as it is constructed from heavy-duty plastic. This gives me the peace-of-mind of knowing that I won’t have to replace this outlet box anytime soon. The final feature worth mentioning about this outlet box is how easy it is to remove the knockout. The knockout can easily be removed without any difficulty. Overall, I’m very pleased with this outlet box and would highly recommend it to anyone in search of a simple, durable washer outlet box!

This item was easy to install. Its best to have your drywall and sheer panel samples available to pre determine your bracket settings so you end up flush. .

Replaced valves that had been in the wall for DECADES. I ran new copper up to the lines so the valves never saw the heat of the torch... Hot water valve paint started within 2 yrs. Started leaking after 3 years... Failure is at a joint that Oatey sweats (just above the plastic circular disc). Had to dig back into the drywall to replace. Really disappointing...

Do not buy this product if you want to use copper pipe for your plumbing . Plastic will so easy melt when soldering.I used flame barrier to protect plastic frame but very hard. Its price is high

All of the components of the washing machine box are well made. The reason for the 3 star rating is due to the horrible design. Like other people have said, sweating the pipe to the faucets is impossible. Honestly, I don't know how they were able to do it and not melt everything. Below is what I did and it worked great. The drawback is that it is more work, but at least everything looks good and is secure. 1) Since I'm redoing the washroom and wanted to raise the outlet box about 16", there was no problem removing some drywall. The 1st picture shows the original old outlet box. 2) I took the faucets as seen in the 2nd photo and sweated about 16" of copper pipe to them. Both faucets were then placed in the outlet box. 3) I cut the PVC drain and copper pipe of both the hot and cold water pipes in the wall. Using a PVC coupling and copper coupling I then attached drain and copper pipes to the outlet box. Since this was well below the plastic box, there were no worries attaching everything. 4) The final result can be seen in the 3rd picture. All I have to do is install the drywall, texture, and paint. I'm done! The washing machine outlet box could easily be redesigned to avoid any sweating problems with minimul cost. This is something Oatey should address. Again, the quality was great!

You can’t solder pipes directly into the valves without melting the plastic. Once the plastic melts the little O-rings on the top are useless because all the plastic is deformed. They should either include instructions to tell you not to solder directly into the valves and use an extension instead or they should redesign this so that you can solder without melting the plastic. The valves seem decent, time will tell.

I just recently installed this outlet box and can say it was a breeze. The brackets to attach to the studs first attached to the box very nicely. You need some force to get them attached to the box but nothing a normal pair of hands can't handle. After that, one screw through each one is plenty to hold it in place. The valves are already attached to the plastic plug pieces that then attach it to the box. You will need two 1/2" female adapters. To avoid any possibility of melting anything, solder the extensions to a one or one and a half foot length of pipe, let that cool,, and then attach it to the valves with some pipe dope. After that you can snake it through the holes in the box and click it in place. Leave the valves open so when soldering the rest of your connections the heat can escape. Once all was hooked up, the moment of truth - I turned the water back on and no leaks whatsoever. Valves turn very easily on and off, and when off they are off, no dribble at all. I can't speak for the experiences of the other reviewers, but I'm a regular DIYer not afraid to do my own plumbing and this gave me the no-headache install, finished look and easy access I was looking for.

Easy install looks amazing

Cons: 1) the instructions are minimal and mostly irrelevant. 2) the plastic is not heat-resistant enough to withstand the collateral heat from the torch & it will warp/melt. 3) I do not recommend gluing the drain pipe to the box as instructed; any error in measuring the copper pipes result in cutting the drain and buying a new box. I recommend converting to the pex option if you want to use this but don’t want to burn your house down.

Well built box and great fit for the hot and cold faucets. Will buy again.

The cold valve leaked slightly even though the ball valve was closed (ie 1 tbs over 30 minutes). Once connected to the washer no noticeable issues. Overall easy system. Everything needed was there.

Replace my old outlet box Looks and works great

Have used this item many times. It is easy to install and can be used with PEX with the correct fittings.
