This stained up nicely and came out closely matching the red cedar. I didn’t glue the caps on instead I used 100% pure copper nails. The wood caps didn’t have much of a gluing surface. I don’t mind the old hammered look where the nails are. I feel it adds something.

You get what you pay for. These babies will last a lifetime. Great combo of mitreless mahogany and heavy duty copper pyramid cap. Excellent!! Highly recommend.

All parts came well protected in the box. The caps are beautiful and provide excellent protection. The wooden bases are also very well made.

First order: the wood part was pyramid-shaped,which gave me a decent surface area for gluing. Second order a month later, the wood part is flat, not much surface area for gluing. Unresponsive vendor.

Awesome quality. It was your video that convinced me to upgrade for our porch. The detailing is perfect. They are almost too beautiful to put outside,

The look is nice but they are plastic and after 3 weeks one of my 13 has developed a stain/discoloration. Also a couple had to be cut for customized fits and I'm not sure about the type of caulk to use to seal against wood & one another. Any help out there for protective sealing & cleaning?

Good quality post caps. Really like the one piece bases. Just be aware that you will need a tube of adhesive not only to attach the base to the post but also the top to the base. High quality caps - a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Others may have copper colored plastic caps but these are the real thing.

This product is such a pleasant surprise. I took a chance when iI ordered them that they would look better than photos on this website. The cooper tops in the photos look like the cooper cap has visible seams---it does not. It looks like the edge on the cooper top is bent and hammered---they are not. These pictures are the WORST representations of this product i have ever seen---and compelled me to write this review. The wooden caps are great too---no cracks or any defects---but i can't complain about those photos---they are fine. Don't be deterred from buying these caps based on the photos

Quality craftsmanship

was about as described only thing to note is that they are glued to the base, I used silicone seemed to work good.

Fit 6 x 6 post very well. Attractive.

High quality. Substantial. Hubs painted the wood to match the fence and these guys look among. Used liquid nails to affix top to the wood and again to the post. You won’t be disappointed. Bonus- it’s don’t land on them (guess because they’re slippery?)

Have not installed yet but...looks like very good quality. Thickness of copper seems appropriate - not too thin.

The description for this fence post cap sounded promising, but the actual product far exceeded my high expectations. I know a fence post cap is not something one usually gushes over, but every aspect of this product is of obvious high quality. The cap itself is made out of a single piece of clear mahogany. The routered molding is finely detailed and nicely sanded. And the top is heavy gauge copper polished to a high sheen. This cap stands out even more compared to ones from other manufacturers. Before I ordered the Protectyte cap I had purchased a similar looking "copper" cap in the store. When I opened the package I was shocked to see the actual cap was a cheap piece of plastic with four pieces of wood trim glued to the base. And the "copper" top was really just another piece of plastic with a very thin layer of copper plating. I'm sure that one would have lasted no more than a couple seasons. The Protectyte cap, on the other hand, will likely last a lifetime. So nice to see a company offering a quality product for just a few dollars more than other products designed to last just until the warranty expires.

I used these to replace two 6 x 6 fence post end caps I bought from Home Depot 15 years ago. These cost more but are of higher quality. They are made from one solid piece of wood. Minor assembly is required. You need is liquid nails to attach the copper top to the wood and to the fence post. You might need some sand paper for the fence posts. I stained them to match the fence.

Pay up and buy these caps. You wont regret it! W e have bought several of the mitered versions of these caps and only gotten about six months of use.
