l had to return the first one because it was used by someone else, returned and then put back on the shelf for resale. It was covered in wallboard dust and had parts missing. To add insult to injury, you would only give me back $125 when the total price with tax was $149. I am not pleased.

I've wanted a compact router for sometime, I had some doors to hang and I decided to purchase one instead of using my older larger craftsman and my Triton was definitely to big. I went shopping and landed on the R2401 it felt comfortable in my hand and I like the fine adjustment feature. Well I found that the adjustment lock lever didn't work we'll it allowed the depth to change !!! I checked and adjusted the lock lever and found it worked well when at the top of the motor housing but was loose when set at lower settings !!! I filled a claim, sent it in for repairs, it was sent back stating it was repaired, it did not say what was done or what was repaired !!! THE ROUTER DOSE THE SAME THING !!! they want me to file another claim !!! Ridiculous !!! I'm just going to get a nut driver to keep with the router to tighten the lock lever adjustment and be done with ridgid tools !!! Will never purchase or recommend ridgid tools again !!! even though I have other ridgid tools that are working fine. I'm not the only one that has this issue

When I open the box, it was used with sawdust on and in it Brought it back the service person said there was one more in stock. I asked him if I could open the box in front of him in the second one was in the same condition used very disappointed. Don’t understand how you guys put your product products back and sell them as new. !!!!!!

Just bought this router today, after about 5 minutes of use I decided to return it. The problem is that the on off switch is not secure. It turns on as soon as the switch is not fully pressed down. I had a couple of times when I pressed down the switch, but the router kept running - this is a safety issue to me. It seems sometimes it’s fine, other times it needs to be pushed hard- but in the end I can’t trust the tool to stay off

I've had this router for 4ish years. Didn't use it very often. Maybe 3 times a year. Motor just died on me. It has about 3-4 hours of actual run time on it. The reason it gets an 2 instead of a zero is because I got it on sale. Pretty sure I didn't pay more than $40 for it - 4 years ago. Of course it should last longer than that but for that price and for as often as I used it, 2 stars is fair. Now, at more than triple the price (thanks trump), it is not even close to worth it. It's tiny and fairly weak. You have to dismantle it to get to the chuck to change bits. It's variable speed but it has to be turned all the way up all the time to get through even soft wood and you have to make a multiple passes slightly lowering the bit each time or you'll bog it down. Again, changing/adjusting the bit is a pain. I can easily change the bit on my 8.5 amp Ryibi router without taking it apart. This one isn't good for anything other than crafts. But for $140 you can get a beast plunge router that will do all the things. This price here is so ridiculous I feel like it's an error.

This router was easy to use very smooth on startup. Also like the power of it for its size very job site friendly.

I have owned this for several years. It is okay for home/diy use. If you care about details and quality then you will be disappointed in this router. Applying moderate pressure, which you HAVE to do to keep it flat on the workpiece, causes the depth adjuster to creep. This occurs even when locked. Just not a great router.

This is my first compact router. Worked well, but the bit loosened as I kept using it. I think I was pushing on the router too much, still too early to really make an opinion. No real operating instructions included. That could have been useful. I liked how light weight it is, lots of power for its size.

Very compact worked well for my project

We've been using these for years in our production shop. These routers are used much harder than any laminate install job. Everyday M-F at least 2 hrs running time. We even change the brushes for longer use. Solid motors and easy adjustment. We usually run three or four different routers with different cutting bits (vee & spiral). The motor has auto power cut off if it's running hot.. Just turn off switch to reset and continue. Great tool

I've had this router for several years now and made a lot of saw dust with it. I've read a lot of reviews where people complain about the collet letting their bits shift and the depth of cut changes mid-cut, thereby ruining the work piece. I initially had a similar experience, but found the collet was NOT the problem. Rather, the quick release level was too loose, and to fix it you just have to tighten the little screw in it. Solid as a rock in 60 seconds. It's a great tool, don't let the negative tools scare you away, they don't know what they are talking about.

The router does most things you ask and a few you don’t. The depth/height of the bit changes as you work; not a lot, maybe a 1/16”. Not a problem for flush trimming an edge. But a bigger deal with small round-overs and dado cuts.

This little Ridgid router is perfect for doing juice grooves in cutting boards if that's your intended purpose. Having an LED is cool but not necessary in my case, but the base (round or square) options are nice add-ons choices. The little storage bag is perfect for it also.

Great laminate trimmer, with an excellent micro adjustment.
