[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love can have plugged into shore power or just pop a battery in and go mobile. No longer have to fight for extension cords or use in areas where just don't have access. Heats quickly, hold stable. Wish the cord was just a tad bit longer and more flexible like my old Weller this replaced but otherwise is excellent.

I can use it on the boat’s and jet skis without having to string 200+ feet of extension cord along the dock and worry about it falling in the water. Awesome to have and I can just plug it back in and use 120Vac in the shop.

Well designed product. Heats up quick and very easy to hold. The pad is a bit small, but it's in a small metal tray that I'm sure you could put your own sponge in if necessary.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about 4 months ago. 4ah batteries don't last very long. Just found out you should use a 6ah battery , so cost adds upp. Now it doesn't work at all, tried new tip (12bucks) still won't work. Was not worth the hassle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this soldering station to replace my old Weller station and this one absolutely blows the Weller away. I do car audio installs, so running an extension cable into a car for a soldering station is a huge pain, this completely solves that annoyance! You can still plug directly into the wall if needed, but so far I've been able to complete multiple soldering projects on one charge (I use 4ah battery packs). My favorite feature is definitely how quickly the iron heats up. With a fully charged battery I can normally expect it to be up to temperature within 30 seconds or so, and the indicator light tells you when it's ready to go! I used to find soldering to be a big hassle with a bunch of setup and waiting around for the iron to get hot enough, but this station has proven soldering to be a fun experience! If you're looking for a soldering station, I highly recommend this one. I would rate it 6 stars if it was possible.

I haven't had any cold solder joints and love the fact that it let's you know the tip is still hot when you power it off. Worth every penny.

Love the fact it's portable with battery access and also can be plugged in for stationary use. Adjustable heat setting and ample cord length make this a great addition to my Ryobi 18v colleciton.

Fast heat up. Hold temp good when using. Comfortable grip.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tired of the cheap soldering irons so when I saw this I Bought it. Glad too. SO Easy to use and flexible for any situation. It is Cordless (18V) and plug in. Cannot go wrong. Get power it up and set your approximate temperature and the unit will let you know when it is ready for use. The side holder is great so i will not burn the carpet when I need to work on the floor trying to solder wire connections on the bottom of a wall heater. Highly recommend this kit.

I’m using this for soldering rail on a model railroad. Not the same purpose everyone will use it for I’m sure, but it’s one where temperature control AND portability are both important. This has been very useful for me, it avoids having to string an extension cord wherever I’m working. The iron heats up fairly quickly, and the temperature stability seems good. The tips are easy to switch. A couple of features I’d like to see - one, a hook or keyhole slot under the front of the iron to make it easy to hang for storage or for use (has to hang with the forward edge facing upward, so that the iron holder is still facing the proper direction). Two, something other than the wet sponge for tip cleaning… a captive compartment for metal wool would be better, something that works either flat or hanging as in #1 above. Three, a display (or at least tick marks) showing the approximate tip temperature, rather than just 400 at one end and 900 at the other.

Very nice, is very convenient in cordless configuration, and better than most in the 110v corded configuration. Heats up fast.

I have not used it yet I can not wait until I do, bought it I can use it with a battery.
