Compatible with 1804,1806,1812 Rain Bird spray bodies, 1/2" risers and adapters this is a great addition to your irrigation system. It has a 17-24 ft adjustable pattern rotary nozzle to provide a good coverage area and pattern. It quickly adjust arc and radius without tools so it is pretty easy. Retrofitting standard spray nozzles with R-VAN Adjustable Rotary Nozzles can reduce flow by up to 60% and improve water efficiency by up to 30%. These are very flexible in design and a great addition. Visit HomeDepot.com for more information on these!
These sprinkler nozzles are very good for reducing the loss experienced with conventional spray nozzles. They produce a directed stream of water in a 360 degree pattern. This limits the amount of loss due to misting or the water being vaporized by the nozzle. They will also function with lower water pressure. This particular model produces a pattern between 8 and up to 14 ft. Highly recommended for efficient use of water. You will need to increase the zone run time, but will get the benefit of better coverage.
The benefit of installing the Rain Bird high efficiency rotary nozzle in the place of the original version that came with the sprinkler head is a claimed 30% savings in water usage while providing a more evenly distributed spray thereby giving a more thorough coverage. Installation is simple enough in that you simply have to raise the pop-up stem in the sprinkler, unscrew the original head and screw in the new one. No need to dig up the entire head. The savings in water usage should cover the cost of these replacements in a few years.
This Rain Bird high efficiency rotary nozzle is a simple to install and much improved replacement for the standard nozzles that come with the original Rainbird pop - up sprinklers. One does not necessarily need tools to replace the old nozzle but you might find something to gently pry the old nozzle up and to hold it while you remove it. No need to dig up the entire sprinkler unit. It is a simple matter to then unscrew the old head and screw in the new one. Just make sure it is secure tightly. You should see a more even flow from the new head.
Replaced my main sprinkler nozzle with the rain bird, full circle rotary nozzle to increase water distribution. The builder grade nozzle sprayed higher and if windy, the mist would go anywhere. This nozzle is much better as it sprays lower to the ground and has multiple small water streams. The water stays on the grass rather than the street or in the air. The nozzle was easy to replace as a DIYer. The nozzle also has a build-in dial to adjust the spray distance. I would recommend the nozzle for your sprinkler system.
Great upgrade, easy to install with no tools and great spray patterns.
The " Rain Bird 17 ft. to 24 ft. Adjustable Pattern Rotary Sprinkler Nozzle " is a great new upgrade to the standard, hard to adjust nozzles. It is very easy to change out. Use a pair of pliers or the hold tool that HD sells. Activate the nozzle or pull up when off, hold the base stem, unscrew/twist the old nozzle off, still holding the base stem, twist the new nozzle into place. That's it. Adjusting just got easier. It is just a s simple as turning the top, no tools and very accurate. M8ch easier than the old ones. Changing out the rest of mine. Looking froward to seeing the water saving due to the way these new ones adjust and spray.
This was ordered online and shipped to my home without issue.
This is easy to use and easy to install on an existing sprinkler, either as an upgrade or as a replacement. This nozzle has fit both Rain Bird branded pop-up sprayers as well as other brands without issue.
Adjust the spray circumference was easy enough, just be a little prepared to get your feet wet if you're doing this while the sprinklers are on. The spray pattern itself is great and flows well and provides excellent coverage while wattering.
There was a patch of my backyard lawn that is more blonde and yellowish with shorter grass. I had a feeling that my sprinkler was not watering the area. The space was also closer to the sprinkler, but not enough watering. I decided that I needed a new sprinkler. Fortunately with the Rain Bird full circle rotary nozzle I only needed to change the top nozzle. No digging required. I did need to use a tool to get access to the original sprinkler nozzle. Once I has access I just needed to unscrew the old and attach the rotary nozzle. The spray pattern was different and I had my reservations if I was getting enough water coverage. After a few weeks if use I noticed my grass was filling in and turning green. I will definitely need to change my other nozzle moving forward.
I have a Rain Bird irrigation system and have issues because of windy conditions. I have used the HE-VAN nozzles and they help but the rotary nozzle does a better job of water distribution. I used the Rain Bird 8 ft. to 14 ft. Full Circle Rotary Sprinkler Nozzle. I’ve attached two photos. One shows a HE-Van nozzle and the other shows the Rotary Nozzle. If you look close you can see the larger water stream from the Rotary Nozzle.

Much more effective sprinkler at placing water vs regular head.
This is a rotary sprinkler head. It provides a 360 degree watering pattern. The top rotates and streams of water flow from it. Think of it as lines of water coming from the head as it turns. They say it's more efficient than the regular 360 degree non rotating heads. Since water is sent in streams, there's less loss from wind blowing and evaporation. I get it.
The collar adjusts the amount of water and distance the head will shoot water. The range is 17' to 24'. Of course water pressure determines the distance, amount of water and distance too.
Installation is easy, as long as you have an existing pop-up sprinkler system. Just remove the screw on sprinkler head by pulling it up, then removing the head. Keep holding it up, then install the new rotary head. Make sure it's on tight, but not crazy tight. When you turn the water on, the water pressure will push the head up and start turning the head.
I use both rotary and regular sprinkler heads. If it's in a windy area, I use only these sprinker heads.
Longevity? Since it's Rain Bird, I'm going to say it'll last a long time. I've had great luck with their products over the years. In my hand, this nozzle feels like it's a well made product.
If you need a more efficient watering system, I highly recommend this rotary spray nozzle.
Great rain bird replacement head. This Rainbird replacement head has a range of 13 to 18 feet with a 360° rotation. If you can turn a door knob handle you can make or replace out your Rainbird sprinkler head. It is lightweight and very easy to install. The Rainbird sprinkler had a comes with the distance adjuster, which can be modify with any small Phillips screwdriver. Overall, I am satisfied with the product.
I have been in the process of upgrading my sprinkler system due to my city increasing the cost of water every year. I am using Rain Bird because of its reputation and good results from having replaced other nozzles with them. I wanted something that would help me save water and like that this has a 30% water savings over standard pop-ups and less runoff. Also no adjustment tool is needed.
Rain Bird 13 ft. to 18 ft. Adjustable Pattern Rotary Sprinkler Nozzle
Brightly colored (yellow) to distinguish it from its companion 8/14 FT (blue) and 17/24 FT (red) nozzles. This nozzle has an impressive large and uniform inlet strainer / sieve. (See Photo 1.) This is a “tool-less” design. (good news) A quick guide to its manipulation is given on the package instructions. (See Photo 2.) To set the spray range (distance) turn the dial ring about the shank. (See Photo 3.) A ratchet audibly clicks when rotated counterclockwise. To orient the head, turn the entire nozzle, by its stem, so the index mark (on the ring) aligns with the desired left (counterclockwise) extremity of the sought pattern. To determine the arc of coverage, there are six discernible lobes when rotating the head. Each one represents 45-degrees. Turn the jet (from the index mark) through the desired arc of coverage and press it down at its ending (reset) point. Since this is a slip-fit stem, clogging can be cleared by pulling the nozzle out of the sprinkler body and allowing the water stream to clear before re-inserting. If you have a sophisticated irrigation system using varied sprinklers, these nozzles readily are identifiable while installed. The embossed nomenclature is seen on Photo 4. While the water service pressure affects the nozzle’s range (There is an adjustment for that.), a consistent feature at any pressure is that the nozzle produces multiple coherent streams. Unlike impact sprinklers and many competitors, wind effects and misting / carryover are minimized. I think that is what makes this nozzle more efficient. If you have a targeted coverage rate (in, say, inches/hour and are calculating your irrigation run time) RainBird posts product-specific application rate tables at www.rainbird.com/sprays (document 9b3d06ac-7f52-425e-b81a-9fc08fbc2ae8.pdf). Those tables also are listed as ‘Instructions/Assembly’ under “Additional Resources” in the Home Depot product listing. It is an excellent resource for designing your irrigation system. Overall, the nozzle is minimally scaled and inserts into a 4-inch RainBird sprinkler body. (See Photo 5.) The unique streaming pattern is effected by the reeding pattern on the underside of the rotor. (See Photo 6,). I welcome the resulting savings in water consumption and more efficient (and uniform) delivery to my landscape.
The Rain Bird 18RNFPRO high efficiency rotary nozzle offers water savings of up to 30% over a standard pop-up spray nozzle. It connects in a snap to the existing Rain Bird underground system. I love that this rotary spray nozzle filters water and eliminates most clogging due to debris. Should there be blockage, simply pull up the nozzle while water is running, and the debris will be flushed out. Area coverage is good and is adjustable between 13-18 feet with a 360 degree full watering pattern. Rotating streams allow water to cover the intended are and reduce runoff. Coverage is reliable and and provide uniform coverage, even in windy conditions.
You can use these to upgrade your existing sprinklers. These replacement heads offer greater distances (17-24 ft) and other features not available in older sprinkler heads. Such as a pull-up nozzle while water is running to clear debris.
The rotating stream helps reduce runoff, thus saving on water usage.
You don't need any tools to adjust the distance, direction, or pattern.
The only drawback is the price, hopefully it will last longer and you can regain the cost of water.

Rain Bird 17 ft. to 24 ft. Adjustable Pattern Rotary Sprinkler Nozzle
This replaces your circular sprinkler heads and provides a 360-degree full pattern, rotating stream. The rotating stream helps reduce runoff.
These replacement heads offer greater distances (17-24 ft) and give you a pull-up nozzle while water is running to clear debris.
You can use these to upgrade your existing sprinklers.
You don't need any tools to adjust the distance.
The only downside is the cost. Hope is that they will last longer and be offset by the water savings.

Rain Bird 17 ft. to 24 ft. Full Circle Rotary Nozzle
This sprinkler is a nice quality sprinkler head. I say that because it is made of metal and plastic and seems very durable. The pattern has good coverage and it has taken care of a dead spot in my lawn that I have been battling all season.
I have rain bird pop-up sprinklers so install was a snap. Easy as finding the sprinkler in my lawn. Screwed it in, made a slight adjustment to the range and we were ready to go!
The Rain Bird 14’ high efficiency rotary nozzle has a range of 8’ to 14’. It can be adjusted by rotating the black wheel below the spray head (See side view photo). The rotary nozzle rotates 360 degrees (See photo showing 360 degrees). The nozzle can be flushed of debris by lifting the spray head up slightly while it’s operating. The rotary nozzle can also be unscrewed and the strainer can be cleaned of debris. I found this full circle head to spray better than the conventional full circle spray nozzles.
Trying to keep from losing our lawn to the heat of summer, we can certainly tell when a sprinkler head is underperforming- we just look for crunchy patches BEFORE they turn brown! A couple of our nozzles that didn’t retract completely have been destroyed by an inattentive yard-crew’s mower blades. We keep these on hand for quick-fixes. Couldn’t be easier! You WILL want a RAIN BIRD SPRINKLER REPAIR TOOL at the ready. See photos. These specific nozzles function great, are adjustable, and spray a good long way!

This sprinkler nozzle is not like other nozzles. It is a finger pattern instead of a straight spray pattern. The nozzle is easily screwed onto the sprinkler body. The distance adjuster is easy to set to your desired distance, but you will get wet while adjusting. The pattern is just as easily adjusted. I have used these sprinklers before and they water the grass nicely and evenly.
Make Sure You Have a Broad Assortment of These Heads
Make Sure You Have a Broad Assortment of These Heads. When we design and redesign our watering systems out here in the desert, things change all the time. Some plants need more and so are dead and we don't want to waste the water. Having a kit with lots of styles and lots of each allows us to maximize the water and keep the landscaping as full as possible ... even when it's 118 degrees.
Really Well Made and Built to Take a Scottsdale Summer
Really Well Made and Built to Take a Scottsdale Summer. As you all know, out here in the desert Southwest, drip and focused irrigation is a very big thing. Water is important and there's less and less of it all the time. So using these well made and well aimed sprinkler parts is important. Also, the heat really kills mechanical devices out here, so we need parts that can take it.
I like these rotary pop up sprinkler heads better than the fan spray style heads. They are easier to clear because you typically do not need to remove the head and then go cycle the zone to clear out the line. You can pull up on the head while the zone is active and clear out small bits of debris that made it past the filter. I also prefer their spray pattern for my environment. It is normally fairly breezy at night and the rotating streams that this head produces is less effected than a fan spray. That gets more water on my yard and less blown onto the hard scape or wrong zone.
They are rated to spray between 17’ and 24’, but that depends on your system’s water pressure. To adjust the radius, you rotate the black wheel in the body of the nozzle. That’s quicker and easier than using a tiny screwdriver in the top.
Longevity wise, my backyard was built out with these heads, and my front with fan style (don’t know why they built it like that). The fans get shifted and clogged and need adjustment each year. This style just need the occasional pull to clear and then a couple of taps to get them rotating again. I’ve only had to swap out a couple of them because they were sticking and wouldn’t start rotating without my help.
This irrigation system Rotary Nozzle from Rainbird is very easily installed and works well. Its designed with "high efficiency" of water-flow and coverage (noted by the manufacturer as a "water saver") and is easily adjustable on it's 360 degree coverage from 8' to 14'. With the water flow coming out in long direct multiple streams vs a standard pop-up spray mist nozzle, there is less water loss to the atmosphere, particularly in windy conditions.
We got this sprinkler head because we have both a front and backyard with sprinklers and this is nice because you unscrew the head of the current one and this screws right into the existing sprinkler. The sprinkler works well. It was easy enough to install. I would recommend this product to others who have sprinklers since it is easy to use and replace.
Review of Rain Bird High-Efficiency Rotary Nozzle - Of course, the hardest part of installing this nozzle is pulling up the old one being replaced. Once the old one was removed, ensure the water line is clean and then screw on the new Nozzle. Snug it up but do not over-tighten. After installation, run the irrigation zone to test and adjust the spray pattern, distance and direction. I found that this model of Rain Bird Nozzles is easier to perform adjustments than the old ones that are currently installed.

My favorite feature of this Rain Bird item is that it delivers water in this streams rather than in a mist. A must in breezy or windy conditions is a complete waste of water. This is actually a nozzle that is easily twisted on your existing casing. It can be made to water 45-360 degree coverage. I find it’s best around ground cover or low shrubs and gardens. Easy to use, no tools required to adjust the settings.
