Was not told the controller I ordered came with one. So now I need to return it. Otherwise everything else was fine.

The wiring inside the over 20 year old valve box was suffering from corrosion and rotting insulation that let wires make contact that shouldn't and burned out the original 20+ year old power supply. Likewise I burned out the first replacement as I didn't check and find that issue. The second replacement is working well. My only thing is that I had to cut the little connector off the end of the power cable as my 20+ year old controller doesn't have this connecter. It would have been nice if they came with the other matching connector so I could wire that in to my controller and easily change it in 20 or so years!

Works fine. The connector did not fit my Rain Bird controller but I was able to splice the wires and connect the transformer.

the plug's prongs lined up well. The outside shell was a tiny bit different which made it a pretty tight fit, but it fit. The voltage was 1 volt less that the original transformer, but it still powered the rainbird processor up and supplied the solenoid valves with enough power to engage them. Home Depot's price was the best.

Met my expectations

One of the items this transformer is designed to power is the RainBird Rain Sensor. It was easy to connect and appears to be working correctly. It would have been nice if RainBird would have made this transformer for both Indoor and Outdoor use since a lot of the older RainBird controllers are outside.

Easy install

The transformer worked out very well, easy installation and it kept me from buying a new sprinkler unit.

Worked perfectly with my rainbird system

Easy to replace. I wish it had a little more capacity since some coils can have up to 850 ma of inrush. Capacity seems okay since I haven't experienced any problems so far.

Great

I purchased two of these from two different HD stores. Neither one of them works. The red LED lights up, but checking them with a multi-meter shows 0 volts. Unfortunately this is the only replacement transformer in stock within 100 miles. I guess I'll just buy a whole new controller, but I'll go with a different manufacturer.
