I sprayed one coat following instruction let it dry and after one day put them outside. You can see the picture on the first rain. You can wipe it off with a micro fiber and the cushion is dry. For these 6 cushions (back and seat) 1 bottle was enough. I had left over. I will spray my sail shades too
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Scotchgard™ Heavy Duty Water Shield complimentary from 3M for my honest review. This was used on my daughter's mini backpack/purse, it repelled the water nicely by letting it run off rather then soaking in.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to protect my new patio cushions and my umbrella. The fabric on my cushions would get soaked from the rain and needed drying for a day or two.
I sprayed on the Scotchgard Heavy Duty Water Shield and it exceeded my expectations! The odorless application was rather easy for me.
I hung my cushions on the clothesline so I could spray both sides. They dried rather quickly and retained their vibrant colors. The fabric still felt comfortable, breathable, and not stiff or plastic feeling.
I then applied the Scotchgard to my patio table umbrella (after removing it from the table) and rain just beads up and the gravity pulls it down and off. The royal blue shade stayed true to color as well.
Now when it rains, there are no worries. All I have to do is shake off the water beading on the cushion seats, and they are totally dry and ready to sit on.
I still have enough left to protect my canvas pup tent. I highly recommend this Scotchgard Heavy Duty Water Shield. It works exceptionally well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this on our tent and it's a good thing we did! We went camping and wouldn't you know, it rained on our second day. The water just beaded up and rolled off of our tent. We stayed dry, as did our sleeping bags and supplies. We had a great time and my husband was so happy, that he went out and purchased more, after our trip. We have more tents, different sizes, and he wants to waterproof all of our camping gear. This really works and is well worth buying. We also used some on our patio set, before placing it out on the deck. I am extremely happy with the results. It's a great investment to protect your outdoor furniture, backpacks, hammock, umbrellas, etc. If you haven't tried it yet, you should. You'll be glad that you did!
My large umbrella was still in great physical shape but it was starting to seep water through the material. Instead of tossing it out, I applied Scotchgard to see if I could save it. I applied two coats as is recommended in the directions. The coatings were applied about 30 minutes apart and each coating was a thorough cover of the entire top surface of the umbrella. The nozzle on the can made it easy to apply on the large surface area of the umbrella and it appeared to spray on evenly. The most recent rain proved to me that the Scotchgard was a success but I did see a few spots in the umbrella fabric where I'll need to apply more spray to create the water shield I was looking to restore in the material.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a sample and used it to re-waterproof our tent seams that have been leaking. We have used the tent twice with rain, and have had no problems with leaks! I decided to also waterproof my backpack, but haven't tested it out yet. Works great!
