For best results, apply in the morning after dew has evaporated and there should be no rain in the forecast for 48 hours of application. Weeds should be actively growing, and temperatures should be consistently between 60℉ and 85℉. Cooler or hotter temperatures will cause a slowdown in weed growth, and they will not respond to weed control if they are not actively growing. Do not mow for 2 days before or after application to improve the plant's ability to absorb the chemicals. This is a post emergent so it will not stop new weeds from growing.

The most common reason a lawn does not respond to fertilizer is soil pH. Soil pH must be between 5.5-7.5 for fertilizer to be absorbed by grass. You may wish to complete a soil pH test. If daytime temperatures go above 85 or below 55, the grass and weeds may go dormant and not absorb the product. Heavy watering or rain soon after application may wash the product off and diminish its effectiveness. Mowing 2 days before or after application reduces the leaf surface and the plant's ability to absorb chemicals.
