This the second Mosquito Repeller I've purchased. Have had a Mosquito bite since I started using it.

This works better than I thought and further than it says. I highly recommend it for ur patios I will be buying refills for it for sure

This product absolutely works amazing. I love that I can set this on the patio table and turn it on, sit outside and not be bothered by mosquitos!

It worked at keeping the mosquitos away. The repellent mats didn't seem to last very long. But it worked at making it more comfortable outside in the evening without being ate up.

Thermacell was easy to put together but burned through the pad very quickly. Only had it on for an hour next usage the mosquitoes were eating us up.

I wasn't even aware these were a thing. I love there's no sprays or horrible scents involved. It has a natural repellent and best of all it's pet friendly. I like sitting on my porch at night and this helps keep those pest away.

This device is a life saver it allows my family and I to be outside and not get ate up by mosquitoes I love this product and in need of anything else that helps with mosquitoes as we have a lot of standing lakes and ponds near us

Patio Shield Mosquito Repeller is heat activated , it comes with one 12 hour fuel cartridge and one 12-hour fuel cartridge and three 4-hour repellent mats. Being able to sit outside on my porch and not getting bit up by those pesty mosquitos is a joy. I just sit in on my table on the patio with 15 ft of protection. Enjoy the outdoors again. I received this product for my honest opinion.

I was sent this by a company to test. I was so delighted because I just moved to Florida and I really have been battling mosquitoes being I don't Have a screen door at this time . I put it outside on my porch and I like the fact that it's very quiet. The instruction diagrams were very easy To follow. I like it you don't have to plug it in or use a flame. I will definitely be purchasing more of theperiod I like that it came in different colors when I looked in the website.

I was so grateful and surprised that this doesn’t require batteries to use. It’s extremely lightweight and easy to carry anywhere you would like to. My kids like to play in the yard during evening hours and are always getting bit by mosquitoes. This helped keep them away. We loved that it was scent free and didn’t have a continuous misting spray go everywhere. It is very quiet and makes no noise. It didn’t last as long as the box says it does. That’s the only negative.

I received this in exchange for a review. The positive is that it's easy to set up and use. It is very portable so take camping,pinicing,eating outside whenever you go out. The downside I still got a couple mosquito bites but not as many without product.

This repellent absolutely works as specified, without that annoying Citronella smell! I placed it on my small porch deck and immediately noticed that there were NO mosquitoes! It is way better than other repellents that uses smell, such as candles, to repellent pesky insects. The butane refills can get a little expensive, but it is completely worth it because it actually works! I have recommended it to all my friends and family.

My first thermacell was for bow hunting in the early season. It kept me from being eaten alive by mosquitoes. So I had problems on my patio, and bought the home module. Works great and now I have two.

I thought this was going to be a life changing purchase. It wasn’t. I followed the directions and still got bit. I have welts all over

I had high hopes for this product but it did nothing. I had it just a foot away from me on my deck and mosquitoes were still all over me. I used up one whole cartridge not bothering to use it again. Definitely not worth the money.

Mosquito season has finally arrived so I finally had a chance to try this thing out. At this point our mosquitoes are just normal sized, but in another month they will be the so big you'd think they were baby pterodactyls and they will bite through your clothes! So far so good with this repeller. I haven't even been getting bit by the no see ums that usually chew up my ankles when in use. It takes a few minutes to warm up and start emitting a small amount of smoke, not even close to what you'd get from a candle, and I like that it is not an open flame. The repellent pad turns white when it's time to replace. I did realize that when changing out the pad for a new one it is easiest to push the old out with the new rather than try to grab it and pull. We shall see how it fares against the pterodactyls but I'm going to go ahead and order some refills because I will definitely need them.

I am really impressed with the Thermal Mosquito Repellent. I have tried different things, sprays, fog, candles, and the list goes on and on of those things that never seem to work. I put this thing in an area where I know there were a ton of mosquitoes because we have been eating up multiple times. I put it out for about 15 minutes and then I went out and sat for at least 15 minutes and not a single mosquito insight. There's a few things I like about it. Very light and portable, but built strong and durable. Simplistic in its usage. You put a repellent tab in the top slot, and you twist on the fuel Cartridge used to heat the tab and by a simple twist of the base you start it and put it in place and 15 minutes later you have a 15 foot mosquito free zone. Each little tab lasts about four hours and the cartridge that fuels it lasts about 12 hours.

So I got he Thermacell Patio Shield Mosquito Repeller to see if would really work and low and behold it really does. I set it up in my backyard since the mosquitos were just coming out, put the butane cartridge and mat in and boom instant repellent. The mat lasts about five hours then swapped it out for a new one. It is quiet and has not smell at all. The case is a nice design.

I have been wanting to try the Thermacell mosquito repellers and finally got one. Compared to citronella candles these worked great as we had no mosquitos or flys while sitting out on our deck. I really like the sleek and easy to store design and they are effective. It means we don't have to wear bug spray which feels and smells gross and has possible health risks long term. It also means not lighting and remembering to blow out the three citronella candles we normally needed to cover our deck reasonably well. Those candles end up with dead bugs and other grossness inside of them and I had to find a place to store all three, which was normally in my gas grill cabinet. I like how easy this was to set up and how easy it is to tell it is on. It doesn't seem to have a smell either which is another bonus. The reason I knocked off a star is two fold. First, the mats say they last 4 hours and once they are opened should be used relatively quickly for best effect. Including a way to store the mat for longevity would be very easy by having a sealed place to put them on the plastic canister. Most of the round plastic portion is not needed so adding a storage compartment would be doable. The second issue is the cost of refills after the initial pack is gone. The refills come in 12 hour, 48 hour, and 120 hour packs from what I found at HD and to get the cost even close to citronella candles you have to buy and store the 120 hour pack, but that is quite expensive in one go. Hopefully the cost will go down over time, but obviously that is not typically the case and thus the reason for 4 stars. Great working product, but similar to cartridge razors Thermacell is making their money via the expense of refills.

This Thermacell Shield mosquito repellent is an interesting concept that doesn’t require harsh chemical sprays or harsh odors to keep your outdoor space free of pesky, dangerous mosquitoes. It uses a small (roughly three inch tall) butane cartridge to heat up a small flat mat that releases mosquito repellent when warmed. The butane is rated for twelve hours and the three mats each are good for four hours for a total coverage of twelve hours before needing replacements. The unit itself is unobtrusive and fairly small but offers a fifteen foot circle of protection. Nice concept and execution.

The mosquito repeller works very well in Texas summer. We use it while we hang out in the backyard or the driveway and place it in the middle of our chairs. Before using this, the kids would end up with so many mosquito bites, and we could only see the bites after it was too late. We used sprays before, but are not too comfortable with the chemicals in them and they create a smell that might be bothersome to some people. The thermacell works with a heating element using a fuel cartridge and repellent mats. Each mat lasts about 4 hours, and when they are done, they turn white from blue, so it is clear when to change them. We were able to use a single mat for 2-3 nights. We went through what came in the package (12 hour, 1 fuel cartridge, 3 mats) in 10 days, and got some refills on the homedepot website. To activate or turn on, you twist the bottom plate from off to on position, wait for 5 seconds and rotate to start. You can see a tiny orange flame from the visual check hole to make sure it is on. It definitely makes the outside hang out time more fun and enjoyable, especially with the kids around and zika danger out there. Overall great mosquito repellent to use outdoors with refills readily available.

We picked up the Thermacell Shield Mosquito Repeller for our Memorial Day weekend camping trip to keep the pests at bay while sitting around the table and enjoying our meals. This was the first time we have tried something other than a citronella candle, and I don't think we'll ever go back to the old way! This product works like a charm and is very easy to use. Screw the fuel cartridge into the bottom of the canister, insert one of the repellent sheets and turn on the machine and you're all set. The box contains 3 of the sheets and 1 fuel cartridge, giving you 12 hours of protection - 4 hours per sheet. The repeller unit is reusable when you need to pick up replacement cartridges, as well. We were able to eat multiple meals and enjoy the time spent camping mosquito free! Would highly recommend these Thermacell products!

I had high hopes for this ThermaCell Patio Shield. So far it has lived up to expectations. It is just the right compact size. Comes in a really nice color. Midnight is a very nice dark blue. It fits in with the patio decor. This item comes with 1 fuel cartridge and 3 mosquito repellent pads. The cartridge of fuel is supposed to last for 12 hours. Each pad is supposed to last for 4 hours. So, in this one package you get 12 hours of protection. Refills are readily available. The fuel cartridge is easily screwed into the inside of the ThermaCell device. The pads go readily and snugly into the top heating area. They do not fall out when the device is jostled. The manufacturer states that you will get a 15 ft bubble of protection. I have no reason to doubt this. I have used a similar ThermaCell device for hiking and it works great. There is no smoke, no flame, and no odor. No citronella, no candle, just protection. I am well pleased with this device. It is easy to use and easy to start the heater. The little side porthole window clearly shows the filaments as orange when heating. It is exactly what you need to know it is working. Good job ThermaCell.

Thermacell is a great mosquito repellent, I have used original thermacell with great success. All thermocells pretty much work the same, on this one you just flip it over and screw the bottle of liquid fuel into the nozzle on the undersize. You twist the bottom to on, wait about 3 seconds and twist the bottom further to the start position. This is strike a sparker inside and the unit will light. Then you unwrap a scent pad, and slid the pad into the holder/heating pad. This causes the repellent to evaporate and be release. Mosquitoes will not bother you...these things are great

This Thermacell "patio shield" deters mosquitos up to 15 feet. It is not battery operated, nor do you plug it in. I feel that it works. I have a small patio in south Florida used it there. It comes with a cartridge that heats a mat (three included) and it going to last up to 12 hours. I would have liked to have seen extra mats and another cartridge to fully get a feel for the product. Last summer there were days you couldn't go out after dark without a hoodie because of the mosquitos in my back yard. So, this year I'm ready for them. I've only gotten to use it once so far, and seems to do it's job quite well. After the past two days of heavy rain, I'm sure the real test is yet to come, but with a 15 foot radius of coverage, it should protect my entire patio.

We tested this new Thermacell 15 ft. Patio Shield Mosquito Repeller in Midnight Coverage and Deet Free device. Needs no batteries. Just insert the canister and a pad and enjoy your day! The best device i own to repel mosquitoes. A must have for everyone that has that favorite mosquitoe blood like me! Hahaha. Will be a must have at every outdoor event. I plan to use it on the job site as well when i service AC units.

Unlike most products that claim to repel mosquitoes, this product actually seems to do what it claims. I work in my garage a lot in the spring and summer, and it’s usually teeming with mosquitoes thanks to a nearby pond. I stuck the thermacell inside my 2-1/2 garage for about 2 hours and I didn’t see any of them. I’m actually surprised that it worked the way it did. All you do for operation is, stick a fuel canister in the bottom, put a “ repellent Mat” pad up top, and switch it on. The fuel canister burns and heats up the mat which releases a chemical vapor that contains the active ingredient to repel mosquitoes. Seems to work, but I don’t know about the safety of the product. Probably best to keep it for outside use. Overall seems to be an easy to use product that actually works.
