Just bought this ac today installed it but first mistake was not testing it before. Blows nothing but hot air even at the coldest setting. Tried resetting it but nothing. Such a wast of time.

I looked at a lot of window units and ultimately decided on this one in part because it was a lot lighter than many others and I was able to lift it into the window on my own. The air conditioner this replaced was quite a few years old and the difference in cooling was amazing. This one cooled the room immediately. It is not particularly quiet but that’s likely attributable to my 60-year old building windows not being the most stable. The display is bright and clear (it can be turned off if digital displays disturb your sleep) and it was mostly easy to assemble given that I am assemble-challenged. For the price, I think it’s a good deal and certainly value for the money. I have it installed in an average sized bedroom facing west (afternoon sun) set at 22 degrees, and the room stays delightfully cool.

Bought, installed and instantly loved this unit! Cools room better than previous unit I had. Was very satisfied until 31 days after purchased at 2am the interior blower started making multiple noises. Sounds like its out of balance and also rubbing/hitting interior ducting.

Not very cold!! Replaced an 8000 BTU AC that was about 4 years old and not ENERGY STAR. Wish I kept the old one! This Toshiba doesn't get nearly as cold - no matter what you settings you use. Unfortunately, I do not recommend it and think it's due to being energy star certified. Also... the remote is junk. Just doesn't work unless you're standing in front of it.

We placed this air conditioner in our sunroom-approximately 11’ x 25’ with lots of windows on 3 of 4 walls. Set on 77 degrees ECO setting it maintains a comfortable temperature even on 100+ days. Overall we are very happy with this unit. It is a bit loud but then most window air conditioners are. The app was easy to set up and use with one annoyance-it reverts to Celsius every day. Other than that the app is quite convenient. We particularly like that you can schedule on and off times.

Great that you can control with your phone. Very modern sleek design. Only con very, very minor, is it starts on Ecomode causing the AC to delay turning on. But once the AC is on it feels amazing, when you leave the room there is a crazy difference!

I got this AC because it was the only 8000 btu at home depot.the frist two nights it was a ice box ..now the room feel like a fan is running.. my old AC in the same room was a LG 6000 btu that cool the room with no issue for 6 years. Very disappointing im already looking for a upgrade its been 3 weeks.

Bought two of these , one for the study and one for our son’s room. I have both of these setup and was able to pair these with Alexa. When setting these up, ignore scanning the QR codes. (IOS( They don’t work (at least here in North America) Download the app called “Toshiba AC NA” and setup your account, You might have problems registering. Just close the app after signing up reopen the app and you should be greeted with the add device screen. After selecting add device you can hold down the connect button on the AC till the readout changes to AP. From there just follow the instructions from the app and you can pair it with Alexa through “all devices” In regards to peformance, they both peform well for a small study or child’s room

Air conditioner works well. Purchased for a bedroom ~ it cools most of our 5 room home during the day. Only had 1 week. So far it works for my son.

Easy to install. Looks great. WiFi feature is very cool! Timer functions work great. Allows me to set time for cooling down my bedroom at set time and for sleeping comfort. This is a basically a $300 unit and it performs well. I've had it for a couple weeks now, during the hottest time in New Mexico.

Running strong for a month. Fan is very powerful.

Cools exceptionally well in my 300 sq ft livingroom that gets the full brunt of summer sun. Amazingly quite. Haven't hooked up wifi yet so can't speak to that

I just can't keep this unit. It cools well, but the noises it makes are unreal. Feels like a weapon of war high pitched ear shattering sounds that can be heard from anywhere in the house and outside. Also has above average fan noise. Also, remote did not work, and wifi was not able to be used so, definitely returning this one. I really wanted to like it but the high pitch sound is unbearable.

I bought this unit about 4 days ago and have only used it about 2-3 days so far. At first it was great and it cooled very well. After the last use it was making this loud whistling or buzzing sound that is really annoying, especially if you're trying to get some shut eye. The AC does cool but the noise is a nuisance. I will be taking it back

Great unit. Easy to control with many variations. Comes with a nice remote and the phone app for wireless control from anywhere is excellent.

Per Toshiba support the official app located in the Android Play Store at least in my case didn't work. Support quickly had me download and install the Midea Air app. Even with the best efforts of the support person it still wouldn't work. I did more on-line research later and found that putting the phone in airplane mode and then using just WiFi enabled some to get the Midea app to work. With the carrier network off I could complete the installation and now control the system with my phone. Has all the features I'm looking for. The installation instructions cover wooden and vinyl clad windows. We have typical Florida metal frame windows which have a "sharp" bottom opening - not the flat type that others windows have. With the two feet where the the lower accordion fits into outside the frame it felt like the unit might just eventually go right out the window. I realized that from the outside I could probably just pull the unit out to crawl thru the window. I ended up putting the "feet" inside the window and cutting a blocker board for the top so that I have a 4 degree tilt. When I can have someone with lots of muscle here I'm going to pull the unit out, mill a custom board to create an ledge that will lock in place and then try the pictured installation. It seems like a great product with a few drawbacks. The picture also has a white painted filler plate made from plywood since the window is very wide.

This is the loudest window ac unit I’ve ever owned, which is sad considering it’s supposed to be sleek in design. As a smart system goes, I constantly have to reconnect it to the WiFi, which defeats the purpose of setting it remotely. Buy a cheaper and uglier one in order to get a good nights rest.

AC was easy to install. Arrived quickly and package very well. The AC cools my studio very quickly, The timer ability works great for the extremely hot days that I am not home, it allows me to cool the room for my pets. Remote usage is very convenient.

Not happy with this purchase, bought the AC for the WIFI function, and it doesn't work. The Toshiba WIFI App has a review of 2 stars, I'm not the only one with the problem. The unit functions as a regular AC, but the noise it makes is also much louder than advertised 58 dBA, I actually bought a decibel meter just to test it out, it runs 74.8 dBA on low setting and 79.1 dBA on high setting. This is not acceptable, this AC is installed on the first floor, and I can hear it on the second floor when it's on.

I really love this window unit. Everything about it has been great except the app that is supposed to go with it. One of the reasons I purchased this unit was because it had wifi that can be connected to devices. However, the app did not connect to the unit. After reading reviews for the app I now understand it is a bad app that does not connect for most users.

I shopped around before I bought. This is my second toshiba a/c this year. the first one worked so well on my next a/c replacement i had to go with the same kind! i have this one and the 5000 btu. Couldnt be happier unless i found free central air lol. They are quiet operating and sleeky designed. i need two more guess what brand imma get!

Great air conditioner a little louder on low then I would expect other than that excellent product!

Air conditioner works great in our master bedroom. Have vertical sliding window which made installation slightly more complicated. Only gave four stars because I agree with other reviews that the smart/wireless part of it is pretty glitchy. We ended up just plugging it into a smart plug so we can power on and off from our phones. Love the feature that you can turn off the LED display at night.

The noise level of this A.C. is typical for a small unit as far I am concerned. I installed this unit into my daughter's house, replacing an inefficient, but working, 8,000 BTU older unit in her 800 square foot house. Her electric bill dropped from an average of $100 to $28 over the last two months. It is winter in Florida, but most days have been warm to hot and she left the A.C. on 72*F the entire time. On occasion, she uses another old A.C. in a room she doesn't use much when friends sleep over a few days a month. I am so impressed with the savings, that I am going out to purchase this exact same model for the other room. (She is on a budget.) The AC cools a little better than advertised. I also noticed when I unpacked the AC, that this was the most efficient model made for this type of AC. They weren't lying. ;) So, I highly recommend this model.

I was really worried that 8000 BTU would not be enough to cool my 550 square foot studio but this worked great! My apartment was freezing even on hot summer days when it was 90+ outside. It is also very quiet and more like a noise machine. Sometimes I turn it on in the winter just for ambient noise. I am a really light sleeper and this never bothered me. I also really like the design as it is not an eyesore. It blends in nicely with my walls and my friends were even surprised how small and sleek it is.

I was so excited to have this installed. interior insulation destroyed its self in one use and Toshiba customer service is no help. Hopefully home depot can save the day with a Exchange or return!

Its not as cold as I hope it will be. It does make a load noise when its on for a while even on eco mode. The only cool feature about this unit is the Wifi but other units also offer it. The price is not bad but i wouldnt purchase another unit like this. I still need about 2-3 more units will be looking at other brands.

It is a great air conditioning, it works quietly and gives you a quick cold, and it's great that it works with my IPhone, I really recommend it
