I haven’t had a chance to use this on my tow receiver yet, but I am going to do a comparison between this pin and the stock pin that came with my receiver. What stands out right off the bat is how ergonomic the setup is compared to the original. The loop on the pull side makes it easier to pull when the pin isn’t locked, and the pin on the locking side aside from locking securely in place is also physically attached to the pin itself via the steel tether. This tether also helps you pull the pin, which could be helpful for me down the road as I have diminished grip strength in one hand. Aside from that, hardened steel, finish looks well done and the points where the steel was cut were ground well with no sharp edges visible or exposed. A solid replacement or mini upgrade to your existing receiver pin.

The TowSmart 5/8 in. x 4-3/4 in. Clevis Pin is a good tow pin. It's made with a zinc plated finish so it shouldn't corrode or rust. At 5/8 in thick it's sturdy enough where it won't shear off easily. The handle on it makes it easy to pull out and the cotter pin keeps it from working itself out when in use. For using this to tow a trailer behind an atv, it works well.

I have a utility trailer that I use with an ATV and several tractor implements that need pins. Clevis pins are a simple item, but the TowSmart clevis pin differs from some others with the handle being able to rotate and the captive cotter key. It is well made, no imperfections noted and it is sturdy. I did run into a small problem when I tried to use it to connect my utility trailer to the ATV, the pin would fit to the drawbar on the ATV but the utility trailer was too small. I will drill it out and the pin will work well. The pin works well with my tractor implements whether it is with my John Deere or 1956 Ford. I am well pleased with it.

This Tow smart 5/8 x 4 3/4 clevis pin is a great way to make towing hook ups a bit easier. Any one who has towed knows the pin that comes with the receiver is a small j shaped pin with a clip on other side and after being in the weather the pin gets harder to remove. This Towsmart pin has a nice big loop to pull on to remove it also has a small cable that keeps the clip together with the clevis pin so when you remove it the clip doesn't fly under the truck or get lost

I've been looking around for a replacement 5/8” corrosion resistant zinc plated clevis pin for my Class IV receiver hitch on my pick-up. I came across this TOWSMART clevis pin with the clip connected with a small wire to keep the clip connected to the clevis pin even when it is not installed in the receiver hitch. No more searching for the small clip when the clevis pin is removed. It is of very solid steel material and heavy weight. This clevis pin is very easy to insert and remove with looped grip on one end.

The TowSmart Clevis Pin is a robust product with several desirable features. Among those is a chamfered tip for easier insertion, a safety wire attached to the hitch pin clip to prevent loss, a large graspable handle, and a heavy, polished zinc coating. I ordered this clevis pin to use with a tow-behind aerator and my lawn tractor. Unfortunately, the aerator is on back order, so I won't be able to review this pin while using it.

Around the ranch we have multiple trailers we use on a daily basis. One issue we have is that different trailers have different size couplings that require different size balls on the hitch of the ranch truck. It takes time to switch back and forth, as we have use the standard little pin and even lockable pins for the hitch in the receiver. This clevis pin makes life so much easier to switch out between the different hitches. It is very easy to pull the cotter pin, which we don't loose since it has the lanyard keeping it attached. The handle on the other side makes it easy even with gloves on to remove the pin and switch out the hitches. We will be replacing all of our ranch trucks with these clevis pins.

The 5/8” X 4-3/4” Clevis Pin by Tow Smart is handy for anyone that uses the hitch on their vehicle a lot. The handle on the end makes it so much easier to pull out as well as slip into the hitch. I always seem to have trouble pulling the pin out and the handle on this pin makes it so much easier. I also like having the retaining pin on a cable so it is harder to lose the retaining pin. A suggestion is to run the cable for the retaining pin over the top of the hitch so it doesn’t get caught on anything. Another feature I like about this Clevis Pin is that it fits both Class III and Class IV Hitches.

If you have a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck and like to keep the skin on your knuckles this product is for you. I've had my truck about 7 years now and I've always just used the cheapest hitch pins I could. A couple of weeks ago I was changing my hitch out to tow my camper. And with the rust and how close the old pin was to the hitch receiver I could only get one finger in the clip and when it finally came free I scrapped up my knuckles and to boot I flung the clip into the mulch and had to spend 10-15 min looking for it. Since then I've been looking for the perfect hitch pin and I think this is it. Its got a great handle for pulling the pin out. Its long enough that I can get a great grip on the clip. And the clip has a retaining wire so you cant flip it off somewhere its always with it. Its a cheap really nice quality of life update for me. And I just towed 10,000 lbs of concrete on a flat bed with it and its still in one piece so it'll get the job done too!

Perfect clevis pin for pulling a utility trailer, thatcher or aerator behind a yard tractor. The pin has a very nice weight and is extremely sturdy to handle even heavier loads. I very much like the cable that comes with the pin that keeps the cotter pin attached to the clevis pin. No more dropping it and losing it in the high grass. Packaging indicates fits Class III and IV receivers.

I've been looking for a good clevis pin for some time and I think I found it. The overall length is great and is longer than the older or original style. The pull handle is a great feature and the pin is attached to the clevis by a solid cable so you'll never lose it. This is a rust free clevis pin which is also a great quality. I immediately changed to this style.

TowSmart 5/8 in. x 4-3/4 in. Clevis Pin Used to connect items to your receiver hitch. Things like a utility cart, lawn roller, and a lawn sweeper are just a few of the the things I use mine for. This won’t prevent theft, even though the ad says it will. You will need a locking Clevis instead of the pin clip. Zinc plated and corrosion resistant. Wide handle is nice. I recommend this for your lawn tractor around the farm.

The TowSmart Clevis Pin (Hitch Pin)is used, among other things, to secure hitch accessories to your receiver hitch. I used it to secure the ball hitch to my truck so I can pull my boat. It's great that it has a large oval ring at the end to grasp and to help you locate the pin on the hitch. A real plus is that the clip is permanently attached to the Clevis Pin on the ring at the top so there is no chance of losing the pin. I can't tell you how many of those pins I've lost over the years. It has a tight fit and is made of corrosion resistant materials, although the description says not to leave it in the vehicle for long periods of time. I also used it for towing attachments behind my lawn tractor.

I like the wide handle to help with the installation and removal of the Clevis Pin and the Clip Pin that is attached to the Clevis Pin with a cable. I chose this product because of the attached Clip Pin,which helps to keep these Pins together.

This is a heavy duty clevis pin. It is longer than most of the others I have. My problem was that the previous pins are just rods with a hole in one and and a cap in the other. They can be annoying to push in and pull out sometimes, especially for my lady and son. The Towsmart clevis pin has a fantastic handle that makes inserting a breeze. It is not that big of a deal unless, as in my case, you are trying to balance an upright cargo carrier possibly with some tied down goods (which I do when we fish - I store the carrier upright). Grabbing the swivel handle helps (see video). The cotter pin on the cable is nice too. Keeps it from dropping or getting lost. The metal is very sturdy. Great little product. Please with adding this to my cargo carrier.

Since I have two ball hitches, I thought it would be good to have a clevis pin for each one. Well, of the two, this one is my new favorite. It is well made and has a bright finish, but the best part is that the linch pin is tethered to the clevis with a plastic covered braided steel wire, so I'll always have it close at hand. The clevis pin has a tapered end which makes lining the ball hitch hole to the receiver hole easy, and the pin is a good tight fit in the hole with no slop.

I received the TowSmart 5/8 in. x 4-3/4 in. Clevis Pin it fits class III and class IV receivers and ball mounts. The pin is made from corrosion resistant materials, but its still a good idea to not leave the hitch pin or hitch in for extended periods of time. I like the large loop it makes for easy removal of the pin when I'm removing or changing ball hitches from 2 5/16" ball hitch to a 2" ball hitch. I also like the it has a cable attaching the cotter pin to the hitch pin so not to lose it.

Great upgrade to the pin that came with my hitch. The original clevis pin has an angled end to grab onto. This one has a real handle to grasp. Original hairpin clip also was unattached and was routinely dropped during installation of the receiver bar. This one is securely connected to to the clevis pin with a steel cable. If you have the clevis pin, the hairpin clip is present also. Overall this is an improvement over the standard clevis pin. Made in China.

Strong, substantial, and there is a wire holding the pin so it won’t get misplaced or lost! Why didn’t I think of that?

Excellent fit and I love the keeper pin secured with a cable

The cable used to keep the pin attached to the key slides off the key easily. What kind of design is that. The whole purpose for the cable is to key the pin and the key together when not in use. Any time it’s not in use the cable can not keep them together because it isn’t attached. I mean the cable has one job and it fails miserably Total fail. Dumb purchase. Waste of money.

Does what it should and right size for large SUV

It works great the clerk waiting on me did an excellent job I found what I needed right away
