Works great. Not exactly compatible with other sheet metal but make a strap to go around both this and your existing sheet metal and you are good to go.

One of the flaps gets stuck open. I tried everything to keep it from sticking but nothing works. Otherwise it works great.

You foam melted / shrunk. So it did not do its job

The Damper flat remains open a lot of times after my exhaust turns off. thinking oabout returning it for another one.

Junk. Wouldn't stay closed no matter the position. Not even worth the hassle to return. Ordered a/c infinity 8" draft damper, same price, exponentially better quality.

Works well, enough space to attach pipes, spring is not too strong, but closes ok and priced rightThe only thing I didn't like was the rubber gasket. Don't know how well it will hold up over time.

I bought this back-draft damper to use in an exhaust duct with in-line fan. However, with the 210 CFM fan I have, it would barely open this damper. I felt it was causing too much back-pressure so returned it to Home Depot. Just roughly estimating, it looks like you would need 600 or more CFM to get this damper to fully open.

Damper vanes and seal work very well. There is the inevitable small gap between vanes along the pivot pin like all these have. Reason for down rating is the outside diameter at each end is so small that the “stop bands” will slide inside std 8” duct. So I had to pad out the end ODs about 1/8”

Fit and finish were perfect, easy installation, however, you will need to supply your own screws/hardware for the installation.

Springs are used to close the damper rather than a counter-weight. Springs are much less reliable because they are subject to clogging over time due to exhaust gases. I debated between rating it "Fair" or "Average" but gave it the benefit of the doubt.

Was everything it was supposed to be. Came on time. Was convenient to pick up. Great job Home Depot!

Nice heavy gauge material It could use stronger spring or a way to increase spring tension. It is everything that expected from the product description. I Would buy it again because it works, but i think there's room for improvement. i do think that the spring should adjustable by the end user.

Purchased product: picture inaccurate. There is only 1 spring on the 8 inch back draft damper which is not strong enough to close damper without gravity assist. I'm trying to vent in a down direction, therefore the small weak spring on this product will not close the dampers when vent air flow stops. Product will only work with upward venting air flow allowing gravity to close dampers when upward air flow stops.
