I needed a finish that did not leave a thick film layer and this always works great. It's super easy to wipe on and wipe off. It's nearly foolproof. Simple walnut and maple coat rack with flip down pegs.

Very easy to apply, brush or rag. I do lathe turnings, product cures from inside out instead of drying on surface then into the wood. Gives a deep natural look to the wood. You can also apply other finishes over it if you wish.

I was looking for a finish that would not drastically change the color of the barnwood I found. As an added bonus it “locked in” the flaky, dry wood so it will not shed on the towels. I was skeptical before starting but the result was outstanding.

My go-to finish is Danish Oil, and Watco is the best of the best. I've tried the different tints - and natural is my favorite.
Simply wipe/brush on your sanded/prepared surface, let it sit a few minutes, then wipe off excess. If the piece feels fuzzy or the grain was raised because of the oil, sand lightly after it dries a bit, and go again. The directions say to repeat, and I do occasionally, but once is usually enough. After drying - follow up with a paste wax for best protection.

Watco products are great. They seem to be better quality for the money versus more hobbyist brands. I have used this product on mostly hardwood materials and bamboo. It is less shiny than competitor's products, durable, and repels moisture. All Watco products are good-Tung Oil or Teak Oil, I like their Danish Oil because it comes in various tints and gives same protection. I sell wood related products for corporate promotions and gifts, Danish Oil finishes impress customers with look and feel features.

This is a great oil finish to bring the life out of your piece of wood. I used it for jewelry boxes and the results are superb. I like the light oil feel. Some oil are very heavy. You can easily wash it off if it gets on your hands. However it will not wash off once it gets on your wood piece. There is little to no smells. You can use a paper towel to wipe it on or use a lint free cotton towel or rags. If you want deeper darker color just apply a few coats. What I do is put on a coat wait 15 mins wipe off excess. Wait an hour apply 2nd, 3rd etc coat. I don't see any difference after the 3rd coat however so I don't do any more applications after the 3rd one.
I've been using it for about a month now and it almost all gone. When I get more I'll definitely get the bigger size one.
Don't forget to shake the can before using it. And the cap can be a pain to get off. Be careful and don't spill it.
See the before and after photo of my jewelry box.

This oil is easy to use and makes natural wood look great. I used it to oil a pine piece of furniture that I built and it went on easily and didn’t allow me to over-apply it. The natural grain and beauty of the wood is brought out with this oil. The best part is that it does not smell like a lot of the varnishes and other heavy chemical products do. The only drawback (which is a minor one) is that the top is hard to get open. Safety first!

Virtually goof proof
Pretty easy to use. The hardest part is getting the top off. I found flipping off the plastic child proof helps. Brings out the grain beautifully and gives a light protective coat without a plastic feel. Not overly keen about the colored oils, but I do mix a dash of the walnut into the natural for a touch more contrast.

It has a chemical smell. It takes a day or two to disappear. I expected it to soak into the wood faster.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Rust-Oleum Watco Danish Oil. To help combat against the odor we recommend ventilating the area by opening windows and using fans. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

Danish oil is a game changer to help bring out the richness of your wood. I was contemplating this oil or Teak Oil. I will purchase teak oil later, but for now this oil did the job and my project looks great!

Really wanted the MEDIUM WALNUT oil in WATCO 1 pint but it never seems to be in stock. Use the Danish Oil in Natural as a back up.

Let's talk about this! To ensure proper drying with Rust-Oleum Watco Danish Oil, all excess product needs to be removed from the surface shortly after application. This product must also be applied to bare wood to ensure proper penetration and performance as well. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3
