Are these suitable for replacing fluorescent lights in a kitchen or are they more suitable as shop lights?
Asked by: PK
It depends on your light fixture. I have some in the garage that are in a shop fixture (exposed bulbs) and they give off a lot of light. The light fixture in my kitchen has a light cream colored frosted plastic cover, which makes it less bright than the garage. It would be brighter with a white or clear plastic cover.

Is this bulb powered only at one end like those in the store? My fixtures have connections at both ends. The "toggled" (whatever that means) bulb has both connections on one end.
Asked by: Montana
You should watch the video and or read the instructions that tell you how to bypass the ballast. 5 minutes to read and watch video ...max. So even if you have fittings that are powered on both ends you could circumvent the same.

Can these be daisy chained? Are they available in 2’, 3’ or 5’ lengths? Are they dimmable?

Asked by: JH
This is just a fancy, and very efficient light bulb. The fixture you mount them into will determine if you can connect them fixture to fixture or "daisy chain". I don't know about available lengths, but 48 inch bulbs in four foot shop lights is the best cost efficient combination. On dimming: Lots of LED light bulbs say "dimmable", but when you delve further into it, you find that most dimmable LED bulbs are only compatible with newer dimmers. The bulb manufacturer can tell you if they are dimmable and if special dimmers are required. Lutron who makes dimmers (available at Home Depot) is very helpful with dimmer / LED bulb compatibility.

I have the existing florescent T8 Light fixture. Is this LED T8 Replacement will work on our existing fixture , or do I have to remove the ballast & install the ends
Asked by: Tri
You will have to rewire the fixture to take the ballast out of the circuit. If the tube holders/ends are shunted, you will have to replace them with the included tube holders. If the existing tube holders are not shunted, you do not have to replace them. The instruction sheet that comes with the bulbs has a diagram showing how to determine if the tube holders are shunted and how to rewire the fixture. After the fixture is rewired you will not be able to use standard tubes in it.

Have used Toggled 16 watt, 5000K, 2000 lumens many times, they work great. Ordered this 23 watt, 5000K, 3100 lumens for a bathroom fluorescent replacement. I rewired the light fixture and installed the 1st bulb, and it didn’t work. I had 3 more bulb, but I didn’t take a chance on them and returned them for a refund. I may have just got a bad bulb and that may have been the only bad bulb out of 4, but I didn’t take the chance. Bought 4 Toggled 16 watt bulbs and installed them and they all worked. I have installed maybe 200 of the 16 watt bulb, never had any problem. Maybe this was a total coincidence, and maybe the 1st time I ever used them, the 1st one was a bad one, I hope so, I would like to try 3100 lumens.

Fairly easy install, just requires disconnecting the old ballast and wiring line voltage directly to one end of the tube per the instructions. I took advantage of the "tombstone" lampholders packed with the tubes and replaced my 30-yr old lampholders. My only complaint with this set is that none of the 4 tubes I ordered included the self-adhesive label to be applied on the fixture at the powered end, but I've dropped an email to the company and expect that they will mail them to me. If you need to replace a ballast, this is at least as easy, and probably almost a wash on cost -but with lasting benefit.

This is not rocket-science to remove the ballast from your old fixture, connect the wires from just one end to your power line, & snap these beauties in. I installed them in seven, 4' double element fixtures. WOW! What a difference in light, & an energy savings too, I like them.
