_Contract signed 7/15 for an $18,071 bath remodel with a finish date of 9/8. The project was not actually completed until 9/28, twenty days late, confirmed by the City of Vista's final inspection sign-off. The delay was entirely preventable: the contractor forgot to order the window (admitted in writing), the window was left off the permit, and when installed on 9/11 the trim fell off within 30 minutes because it was mounted over unfilled voids. It took three repair visits to fix, every arrival window was missed, and we had to cancel a business trip to stay home for the corrections and inspection. Worst of all, the contractor reported this to Home Depot as work 'completed 9/11' with 'warranty service appointments,' and Home Depot's resolution team accepted that self-reporting over our photos, offering $750 on an $18,000 contract that ran three weeks late. The finished shower itself looks good, and the crew was polite, but the project management, the honesty of the reporting, and the resolution process failed at every step. Verify everything is ordered and permitted BEFORE your project starts, and document everything in writing. Case 41312217 remains unresolved as of this survey._

The installation team was excellent. They were professional, competent, and meticulous to detail. The issues encountered were the learning curve working with a new product. The Italian porcelain required a special drill bit which had to be purchased and the particular type of circular saw to cut the porcelain. Also, the sales rep did not provide a line item for the trim kit. I thought the trim kit was included in the shower head assembly because when I was shopping for shower heads, Moen included the trim kit with the entire assembly. The upshot was that the trim kit had to be Delta not Moen because by the time the mistake was realized, the porcelain panel had already been installed not allowing the necessary changes to be made for a Moen product.
