• Check the specifications section for your appliance on its product page to ensure it will fit the intended space

• Measure any doorways, hallways and stairways in the delivery path to be sure they are wide enough to accommodate the appliance

• You must have an adult age 18+ present at your delivery time to sign for the appliances

• Installers cannot use existing connection parts for new appliance installations

• Verify there are less than (3) flights of stairs to get to the install location (not applicable if elevator is available)

• Clear the inside path to the installation location of any obstacles, rugs, furnishings and personal items

• Ensure outside path for delivery is free of snow, ice and any debris

• Empty and disconnect any existing appliances you want hauled away

• You will receive a text or phone call the evening before your delivery

• A 4-hour arrival window will be set

• The delivery team will uncrate, set in place, level and connect your appliance

• The team will test the appliance for functionality and inspect it for damage

• Before a customer accepts delivery, major appliance products (including refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers and some microwaves) should be inspected for defects or damage

• Additional charges may apply for the installation of some over-the-range microwaves, gas appliances and dishwashers

• Once delivery is accepted by a customer, product may be returned if defects and/or damages are identified and reported to The Home Depot within 48 hours of delivery day by calling 1-800-455-3869

• The delivery team will dispose of all new appliance packaging

• Replaced appliances will be moved or hauled away If you have opted for the additional service and they have been emptied and disconnected

Frequently Asked Questions

Verify that all appliance installation requirements have been met (including dimensions and necessary parts), there is a convenient and clear unloading zone, there is nothing restricting access to the installation area, and an adult 18 years or older is present at delivery time.

Make sure your appliance is examined and tested before the delivery agent leaves. If you notice any damage or your appliance is not working correctly, raise any issues at the time of delivery with your delivery agent. Any returns must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery.

The delivery agents are not licensed carpenters, plumbers or electricians. To ensure a successful installation, all electrical outlets, water and gas shutoff valves, and cabinetry must be available and compliant with appliance requirements and local codes prior to your delivery.

Appliance stacking is available in some areas but is not included in the basic delivery rate. Any appliances that you wish to stack require a compatible stacking kit to be purchased at the same time as your order. Please contact our Appliance Support Hotline at 1-800-455-3869 with questions.

Basic installation service does not include hook-up or removal of built-in cooktops, built-in wall ovens, drop-in appliances or range hoods. Commercial or built-in refrigeration (i.e., refrigerators with the compressor on top or oversized units) cannot be installed, removed or hauled away. No, gas appliances cannot be connected to propane and delivery agents are not licensed to install liquid propane.

Appliance Installation Requirements

Basic hook up service does not include hook up or removal of built-in cooktops, wall ovens, drop-in appliances, range hoods and air conditioners. Commercial or built-in refrigeration (i.e. refrigerators with the compressor on top or over-sized units) cannot be installed, removed or hauled away. The installation must comply with local codes, or in the absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code and the National Electric Code.
