How to Make a Cozy Cart

Before you start your project, gather all your materials in your work area. Be sure to cover any tabletops or counters with a tarp or builder's paper to avoid damage.

To make the Halloween candy cart, you will need to attach the wheels to the bottom of the crate.

• Flip the crate so that the bottom is facing up.
• Position one castor wheel in each corner and secure to the bottom of the cart using a drill and the 3/4-inch screws.
• If you’re helping little ones, you can get them involved by screwing the screw in halfway using the drill then holding the tool steady to allow them to pull the trigger and tighten it all the way.

There's no right or wrong way to decorate your cart. Let the kids paint it with designs of their choice, or paint it for them using stencils. Here are a few ideas:

• Using paint, paint pens or stencils, decorate your cart with a fall or Halloween theme.
• You can opt for your favorite solid color or use stencils to add wording.
• Draw themed art like candy corn, spiders, fall leaves, and more to add interest.

• Once the paint or design has dried, it's time to attach the handle, or towel ring. The towel ring attaches fairly simply and your chosen towel ring will come with specific instructions.
• In general, you’ll attach the base bracket with screws, then slide the towel ring onto the bracket. Tighten the small screw at the bottom with the Allen wrench to secure.

• It's time to fill your crate cart. Fill it with your favorite cozy fall essentials. Add a throw blanket, small pillows and books.
• Now your little one can take it around the house and create a cozy reading area anywhere they decide to stop. It’s also great for giving those stuffed animals a ride around the kitchen.

• With the addition of a wooden shelf, the cozy crate also doubles as a candy cart for your front porch. Just decorate it in your favorite Halloween theme – like spiders, jack-o'-lanterns or ghosts – and add your choice of treats.
• Just attach the unfinished wood shelf into the inside of the crate by lining it up and securing it with screws from the outside crate planks into the side shelf boards.
