Five Easy Ways To Elevate Your Baby’s Nursery

If you’re reading this, it’s likely you’re preparing for or have welcomed a new baby into your home. Congrats! Oftentimes we overcomplicate what it means to create a space you love for your baby, but I’m here to tell you there are simple things you can do to create the perfect nursery. Here are five ways I elevated my baby’s nursery while eight months pregnant. If I can do it, so can you!
1. Paint an Accent Wall

A little paint can go a long way! The wall behind the crib is the perfect choice for a statement wall. I went to Pinterest and found the exact color I wanted and headed straight to The Home Depot. Did you know they can color match almost any color you want? Even if they don’t carry the brand. I taped off the surrounding walls and used two coats of Behr Premium Plusinterior wall paint in the color Light Blue by Farrow & Ball.
2. Add a Patterned Rug

Adding a bright patterned rug may scare you, but it will be the statement piece the room needs to bring it to life. The Home Depot has so many options I’m absolutely in love with! You can’t go wrong with a rug from Loloi. The one I selected is the Loren in Terracotta/Sky.
3. Hang a Pendant Light

Hanging a pendant light above the rocking chair is both functional and beautiful. It brings the corner of the nursery to life and provides a nice convenience for late-night feedings. The Home Depot has so many options for beautiful hanging pendants! I’ve linked some of my favorites below.
4. Hang Pictures Above the Crib

If you’re like me, you worry about hanging something that may fall on your sleeping baby. This is a great alternative to heavy prints! All you need is some basic tools and materials and you can hang lightweight framed prints that look like framed glass!
The frames pictured are just wooden dowels glued to some plexiglass and attached to the wall using Velcro Command Strips! Alternatively, you can use lightweight poster frames as an alternative to glass.
5. Add Cute Curtains

Adding cute blush curtainswith a gold curtain rod added so much to this room. Not only are the rod and curtains beautiful, but they also offer additional blockage from the sunlight while baby naps. Installing curtain rods and curtains is surprisingly easy and adds a finishing touch to the perfect baby nursery.

These five things completely brought my baby’s nursery to life! Even selecting a couple choices from this list will aid in transforming your nursery into a space you love and the best part is they are all simple and doable options. So thankful The Home Depot was there every step of the way through this room refresh!
