How do I prepare for a snowstorm?
Make sure you have drinking water, canned food and can openers, a weather radio, flashlights and flashlight batteries, Rx medications, and buckets. Protect plumbing with outdoor faucet covers and pipe insulation. Rock salt or ice melt, a snow blower and a snow shovel, insulated winter gloves and a sled help you deal with the hazards and enjoy the snowfall.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with tornados or severe thunderstorms, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements take it out. When browsing generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Why should I get a doorbell camera?
Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. Stop peeking through a peephole or window when you can watch human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cameras even let you speak to whoever is at the door via your phone, a useful interaction for delivery people or to scare off potential porch pirates. Many cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
