What should I bring when moving into my college dorm?

Come see us for your dorm essentials. Use storage containers or moving boxes to transport your belongings, and be ready for residual dirt with cleaning supplies and disinfecting wipes. Make your room your own with wall decals and area rugs. Bring a tub of spackle to fill old nail holes and Command adhesive hooks to hang wall art and string lights. Extension cords and power strips let you place table lamps, countertop microwaves, and mini fridges where you need them. If you didn't get a new bookbag yet, we've got those, too. Be prepared to head back to college with helpful products from your Targee Street Home Depot.

How can I prepare my home for summer?

Be certain your home is ready for relentless summer heat by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. On your house's exterior, inspect roof shingles or metal roofing for damage or rust that can let water in. Keep gutters clear of debris to prevent water overflow from seeping beneath your shingles when storms arrive. Chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped out if they're badly weathered. Also, check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. If water gets in the crevices, you could be looking at trouble.

What's your selection of moving boxes like?

Pick up a mix of moving boxes to make moving and storage easier. We've got the sizes you've been looking for, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion any and all items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it safely. Look into our moving truck rentals, too, and take care of your DIY move needs in one place.

Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?

Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, severe thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements take it out. When exploring different generators for sale, remember that inverter generators cost more than portable generators, but they're also quieter and cleaner. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows.

Do you have doorbell cameras?

Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through an adjacent window when you can watch animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, a useful interaction to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Many cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.

I’ve been in the Electrical Business for over 50 years the HD has a large selection of electrical equipment to do small jobs from start to finish. They also stock some commercial equipment to start a job. For the most part it’s more for DIY people to get small projects done although it’s against NYC electrical code to do any wiring without a license in NYC. Electrical work s for professionals not like plumbing carpentry or sheet rocking Electrical work can KILL you. So hire a licensed contractor when it comes to electric work.

                    Rude employees.
I asked to employees in the paint department, where a certain product was. He pointed to a shelf about 10 feet away and says “it’s on the bottom shelf”. He never moved nor put his personal phone down. When he saw I couldn’t find it he kept saying “it’s on the bottom shelf” while smirking at the other employee. When he saw, I still couldn’t find it he barked at me “saying it’s right in front of your face.” I kept looking. I finally found it on the third shelf from the bottom. He thought it was a big joke to give me wrong directions and he never moved an inch to assist me. He was humiliating to me and being very rude. His behavior was reprehensible.
