When it's time to make the leap into a big DIY project, you might not have everything you need in the garage or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Apopka Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.
Tool Rental
Start your next home improvement project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Apopka Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and bring them back when the job is done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to blow away leaves. Fall will be here soon, so have a leaf blower ready. It's much easier than raking them into piles. It's also great to use on concrete sidewalks, hardscaping surfaces, and driveways. You can rent one of our walk-behind, handheld, or backpack leaf blowers.
Air Compressors
When renting pneumatic tools such as nail guns, you'll need an air compressor to provide the power. Renting an air compressor means you save room in your garage while getting the perfect tools for your job. Choose from an electric or gas air compressor in a size that suits your project.
Heaters
If you dislike working or being outside in cooler temps, browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They are safer than torch patio heaters because portable heaters have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for greater coverage. We carry propane, electric, and gas heaters in various sizes. Pair this with good outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the night with the extra warmth.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
For your transport needs, we keep cargo vans and trucks of all kinds ready for rental, with availability varying by store. Choose the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you have a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to ask about a large equipment, tool, or truck. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When do I need to return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and receive an excellent one. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment and select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to one of our knowledgeable associates for the best way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
