What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
The adjusted hours give stores the ability to staff appropriately and provide additional time to restock shelves and perform cleaning. As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

One of the worst shopping experiences of my life. None of the workers appeared to be on the same page. I had called ahead to ensure that cutting services would be available, and though I was told that they would be, I arrived to find that the store's table saw had been broken for weeks. I ended up having to purchase a circular saw, even though I have neither the space nor facilities in my tiny apartment to cut lumber. Not to mention the extra cost. Workers were inattentive and unhelpful. I was clearly struggling to transport large plywood boards and lumber to checkout, but was offered no assistance. I was told that while the vertical saw was operational to cut the plywood, I had to first purchase the item and then take it to be cut. When I went to make the purchase, I was told that if I left my measurements with customer service, the item would be cut down before delivery, as the staff member in charge of the saw was on break. Imagine my surprise when a giant 4x8 foot plywood sheet was delivered to me a few days later. Apparently, the customer service representative had been misinformed, and they were unable to make a cut unless the customer was present. No one called to inform me of this change. If they had, I would have gone back to the store in the days leading up to my delivery. Now I have to arrange a return, go back to the store, and repeat this process again. After dealing with the lumber, I picked up the items that I was able to take home with me. As an extra slap in the face, shopping bags were unavailable, meaning that I had to carry many loose items in my arms on my long walk home.

I shop at this location. However my last visit was extremely dissatisfying. I encountered two male employees in the painting section. That were in charge of taking paint orders and mixing paint. I found them to lack customer service skills and friendliness. I ordered one quart of paint and waited like everyone else to receive. My paint never came as I watched everyone else receive theirs. I watch people that ordered before and after me receive their paint. I approached the counter to check on my paint order. I was met with no awareness of my order and a nonchalant attitude. the employee that took my order then tells me it's not available. I don't understand why he saw me standing there and never said anything. Instead he just let me wait. He then informs me that they have a alternate paint. I say that's fine. I continue to wait for an extremely long period of time. as I now stand with a whole new set of people making orders. From the employees demeanor and movement as clearly as I could see. They were intentionally making me wait. I don't know why. I truly felt powerless in the situation and extremely annoyed. It's okay that customers wait but employees have to have customer service skills, otherwise the experience goes down the drain. Neither employee had any unction or care for their job of assisting others. This is basically the only way I could leave a review.
