Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities, as well as the environment. Do you offer big outdoor Halloween decorations?
Yes, we offer many kinds of colossal outdoor Halloween decorations, many of which are animatronics. Make your front yard the creepiest in the neighborhood with giant Halloween decor options, including witches and skeletons. Dean the Deathologist and Skelly are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables, especially the big ones, make a huge visual impact.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making more noise when they create more power. When browsing generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
What home repairs should I make before winter?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by replacing or repairing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be in for a real headache. On the outside of your home, examine shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check bricks and cinder block for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped if in poor condition.
How can I make more space for the holidays?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Shoe storage and other storage bins remove summer belongings from the equation. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the right amount of space.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular present during the holiday season or for any special occasion. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to receive and to give. You can buy gift cards online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you're a recipient, you can visit the E Montgomery Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store, all with no additional fees.
