Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store cut energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you have huge Halloween yard decorations?
Yes, we have many types of colossal outdoor Halloween decorations, including many life-sized animatronics. Make your front yard the scariest on the block with giant Halloween decor options, including witches and skeletons. Skelly and Dean the Deathologist, a dapper bartender, are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables are another way to up the drama and create interest.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise while they create less power. When browsing generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.
What home repairs should I make before it gets cold?
Ready your home for colder weather by replacing any faulty or broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofing panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak into your home. Gutters should be cleaned to prevent ice dams. Check cinder block and brick for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped if in poor condition.
What are some storage solutions for a crowded holiday home?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow what you don't need to enjoy extra space. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Moving blankets can protect fragile items as they're packed together. Shoe storage and other storage bins take summer belongings out of the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the right amount of space.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent present during the holiday season or for any occasion. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. Purchase them online at homedepot.com or in our brick-and-mortar stores. If you receive a gift card, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Fairmount Ave Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store, all with no additional fees.
